Praise where praise is due! I needed a new pair of binoculars after the optics in my old pair became misaligned and repair was uneconomical. From the moment of my first contact with Vanguard, the service was of the highest order. Clear, objective and helpful expert advice was given regarding the best choice for my requirements. I normally would not buy an optical instrument without testing it for myself but I felt confident enough with the advice given to purchase the recommended pair. I bought a pair of Endeavor ED II 8x32 binoculars. They arrived within a few days and are, without doubt, the best binoculars I can remember seeing through. Fantastic quality, construction and optics! Easy to use and fully equipped with extras and a superb warranty. Aftersales service was brilliant too, when I needed this for accounting purposes. I cannot recommend Vanguard World highly enough. A UK firm giving excellent service and with high quality, well priced products but, most of all, carrying on business adhering to the principles and values of a day-gone-by. Well done Vanguard.
Amazing customer service, had a fault with binoculars that I had bought 2 years ago, and was sent a new pair within a week! I never write reviews, but this service deserves one.
I bought a Vanguard Alta Pro 2 Tripod with the BH 100 Ball Head from eBay. Unfortunately, after a year of using it, the internal thread adapter had become damaged. I rang Vanguard customer services and was contacted by Ian, he informed me that the part was no longer in use but that he would replace the entire ball head under warranty. I couldn`t be happier with the service provided and the equipment is extremely well made and practical.
My Vanguard Endeavour binoculars developed a fault after 5 years. I contacted Emma at customer services and 4 days later received a new, replacement pair, having returned the originals which were found not to be repairable. Excellent and friendly service.
I have a few Vanguard products. The quality is great and the prices are very reasonable. The products are backed up by 1st class customer service. When my tripod developed a fault, Vanguard repaired and returned it super quickly in time for a charity shoot I had booked. You can’t go wrong with Vanguard
Bought a Alta Pro 2+ tripod for the incredible value for money and the quality is superb. If that wasn't enough, Vanguard's customer service was truly fantastic, providing quick assistance and excellent customer service. Special note to their marketing department that was simply superb. Will definitely stick to this brand in the future.
Having attended a camera show in London I wanted to buy a VEO 38 bag. Unfortunately the bag was not in stock at the show. I was given a "code" to use on the online site to order the bag. Unfortunately this code did not give the same discount as offered at the show. A quick email to Vanguard and everything was sorted. I was able to buy at the price offered at the show. Then delivery was made less than 24 hours later. I am pleased with the bag, but more importantly impressed with the polite efficient customer service that was provided.
Endeavour 400 waist bag. Think it’s going to be good. Fits Nikon D750 with fitted 28-300 plus macro lens with room to spare. Not so big as to become overloaded. Harsh zips prevent 5 stars.
Unbelievably excellent customer services. My first Alta Pro tripod lost a foot and, hoping for a spare foot replacement, I was delighted to receive a new Alta Pro2+. When one of the twist locks got stuck I returned it and received another brand new replacement Alta Pro2+. Such minor problems with other manufacturers would, at best, only receive scant assistance. Needless to say the Alta Pro2+ tripods are excellent and get a good workout with my photography. Thank you Vanguard.
We have recently received two pairs of Vanguard Endeavor ED 1042 binoculars as free replacements for much loved Vanguard Spirit ED 1042 binoculars which we have used LOTS since we bought them in June 2011. The Endeavors were sent to us, no questions asked, when we asked for servicing of our Spirits as the eyecups were becoming detatched. The new binoculars have even better clarity then their predecessors and have a robust and solid construction. We love them and have no hesitation in commending Vanguard's exceptional customer service.
I share the previous writers great experiences of excellent service from Vanguard. Emma and then Ian went well beyond what was strictly needed to resolve a problem I had with an eyepiece. They literally saved the birding I had planned for a holiday by working fast and effectively. I unhesitatingly recommend the service of the company.
Absolutely amazing company ,best I have ever dealt with , ordered a tripod from a third party and emailed Vanguard about a promotion connected to the tripod ,received a reply from Liz literally within minutes who sorted everything and I received the promotion item the next morning, absolutely amazing service ,would recommend to anyone ,products are amazing as well ,extremely well made ,one happy customer.
Bought a pair of 10/42 Vanguard Endeavor ED binoculars (first generation) and am absolutely delighted with them. Incredible binoculars for the price. I did a lot of research, and was aware that they had reviewed really well (BBR rated them very highly) but I can now speak from personal experience that these are genuinely awesome binoculars.
What can I say about this company just simply the BEST. I have a Vanguard Alta Pro 2 + 263CT carbon fiber tripod and it is THE best tripod I have ever had, and beleive me I have had a few in my 50 years as a photographer. And when I needed an extra column for it nothing was to much trouble. The personal super fast service that you get from this company is non exsistant in other companies.
I would like to just say if you're thinking of a new tripod purchase, you'll be in safe hands with Vanguard. Also there after sales service is very impressive.
Fantastic customer service! I ordered a tripod for a Christmas present which unfortunately became out of stock. The company personally called me and explained that they would upgrade my order at no extra cost to myself and fast tracked the delivery in time for Christmas. Thank you so much! :)
Received some extremely good customer service from Vanguard on an issue with my first purchase from them. Will certainly be buying more from them in the future.
I cannot fault Vanguard's customer service. After three years of daily use of my binoculars a fault occurred with the eye pieces. There response was prompt and helpful and they replaced the binoculars without any problem under their excellent warranty. I had been delighted with the original pair and will no doubt continue to be with the replacement pair. An excellent company with excellent products and customer service. Thank you. I strongly recommend them.
Fantastic products and beautiful made. The Altra pro and ball head kit is an excellent design and surpasses all previously owned ones from other manufacturers. Treat yourself to a well thought out and a tripod that is a joy to use
As a serious enthusiast I have owned probably more than 10 tripods over the years. In spring this year I found a Vanguard Abeo Plus 323AT for sale online. It turned out to be the discontinued stock website for a well known photographic retailer in Brixham Devon. The tripod arrived in pristine condition (after they sent me the wrong one the first time) and my review is meant as a guide to the range as you most likely won't find one of these on sale now, as new models have replaced it. It is well made, and very sturdy. I went for this heavy model for two reasons - I shoot landscape with a full frame camera, and I don't usually walk more than a mile from a road or car park. My model has three sections, including the top one that you always see when it is closed up. This makes it a little longer than a four or five section, but I needed the stability of a three section. I also got the aluminium instead of the carbon fibre, for the same reasons. In use, the legs slide out very easily, and the leg clamps are a little stiff to operate but not overly so, making a good lock on position. Turn the tripod upside down and open a clamp, and the leg slides shut fairly easily - be careful to hold it behind the closing face of the lower section or you'll get a pinch. The leg spread mechanism is simple and very effective. Offering three independent opening angles. The widest angle needs the centre post to be either raised, or replaced with the short post included in the kit. (otherwise you'll be hitting the ground with it). If you were taking a shot, for example, over a wall in the countryside, you could put two legs on the ground, and angle the third one, unextended, so it rests on the wall. Many tripods have this, but it is executed particularly well. I have a rather nice ball head from Velbon which is oversized on lesser tripods, but perfect on the Abeo Plus. What else? I haven't mentioned the feet. It comes complete with rubber feet, but instead of being round flat caps, they have an outward curve to them like the heel tread on a trainer shoe. They also have a ribbed tread that extends from underneath and slightly up that curved side, helping to grip rock and firm grass / gravel / paving / carpet etc. The feet are removable and you can fit the supplied metal spikes for keeping it safe in loose ground, or frozen earth etc. and included in the kit also there is a set of snow shoes, which fit over the normal rubber feet, giving an oversized ground contact on soft sand / snow etc. My conclusion? This beats the pants off any previously owned tripod I have used. I have had Slik, Velbon, Manfrotto and Giottos tripods and this one is far better. There is no particular thing that screams 'buy me' about it, Rather, it is a case of the synergy of the way it is put together. It does all the basic things, but it does all of them very well. I am so pleased I decided to take a chance with a relatively unknown manufacturer - the tripod is well up to professional standards. I was up on the cliffs overlooking Mumbles lighthouse a month ago, and a fellow enthusiast happened to be up there with his outfit. He had the rather nice Manfrotto (190 is it?) but when he got to try the Vanguard, he said how nice it was to handle. That sums it up really - When you are out there in uncertain weather conditions, and you want to pop the tripod up fast, make the shot and not be concerned that your camera is not safe, you need something like this. Although it is not light, it is not unduly heavy, and the camera is as steady as a rock, even with a 400mm on there. I can walk away from this kit and know all will be fine, a feeling I only got from the Giottos, none of the others, but the Giottos was a real palava to work with, and seemed heavier than this Vanguard. I do hope they stick to the quality of the one I bought as they bring in new stuff. The one I have now, I doubt it will ever wear out, but I might break it, these things happen. If I do, I know now which range of tripods I will look at first, before putting my hand in my pocket again. Thanks to all at Vanguard, and I hope my review has helped you to think of daring to buy something from a newish company - even Manfrotto were the new kids on the block once. UPDATE 23 09 2019 - I needed to buy a spare centre column for my tripod, and although it was discontinued two years ago, Vanguard had the part and posted it within days - very reasonable cost too. Reinforces what I said above. Also, I got a Vanguard Camera Backpack three months ago, and that too, is a brilliant item - easily as good as my Lowepro which finally got damaged. Good stuff, you can trust the brand completely.
