I wouldn't even give one star but it was necessary for the explanation box. Via telephone I ordered clips for an overlap replacement liner for my 16 ft summer waves pool. I was very clear in describing I had a metal tube frame pool and counted on the rep of a pool supply store to have knowledge of what I was needing. After quite a lengthy call the order was completed. Immediately after opening the package it was clear the clips I received would not work for my pool. I received clips for a hard sided pool. I made another call to correct this issue. I was told I would receive a call back after they reviewed the sales call to determine if the issue was my mistake or the agent, which would determine if I was responsible for return shiiping costs. The return call never came. I called again the next day and was told the agent did infact send me the correct clips and I wanted to return them I would be responsible for costs. That would have exceeded the cost of the clips. If indeed the rep sold me the correct item, why do they not work with my pool? Would not recommend this store. Little knowledge of their own products, poor responsiveness to customer issues.
Its taken over 2 weeks to ship our solar cover! Im Not happy!!
Customer service in the purchasing process is great, but unfortunately, Doheny's just does not stand by the products sold. Our original solar cover (different brand) lasted 5+ years without issue, but did eventually start to tear in spots that had the most stress over those 5 seasons (which we only use about 4 months a year). I purchased a replacement from Doheney's and it started to come apart in 1 season. I reached out to Doheny's and after several months of emails and follow up, customer support asked me to file an official warranty claim. After several more weeks of no response and follow up, warranty responded that a replacement was not covered since the multiple tears were not specifically on a seam. I provided multiple photos of the cover that literally has gotten to the point of having disintegrated so badly it became unusable. I not only can no longer consider Doheny's for our pool needs, but also need to highly recommend purchasing from a more reputable company for higher cost pool items. Sadly, given how many pools are in our neighborhood, the cost of this decision to Doheny's will be far greater than simply doing the right thing and creating a loyal customer.
Very easy to place an order and the item came very quickly.
I ordered a "Harris 72525 ProForce Inground VS Variable Speed Pool Pump, 3 HP" and received a Doheny 90951 pump instead. Similar, but lower level. I called to ask what happened. (I got a call center in India or Pakistan.) "Mistake at warehouse" was all I got. Then I asked about compensation for the lesser model/brand and was offered $30. Not OK! The only reason for the 2* and not 1* is the price was significantly lower than the local pool supply store. Fast is not important as sending the correct pump!!! Get it together guys!
product seems OK price is good Customer serviced is like buying a pump for 1/2 cost from Japan with no customer support. POOR customer service. NO help with anything especially how to program the pump.
Do not order from this company. This company does not deliver like the website promises. It said next day delivery, but I'm still waiting 6 days later. Emailed and was told I would receive a new shipping number, did not happen. Called twice and attempted to talk to someone, but we couldnt understand each other. I was put on hold for over 15 minutes to be told that it was still in warehouse six days later. They promise to expedite the order.....
If you use a debit bank account card to place an order, Doheny’s makes two charges on your card account for up to 48 hrs. The first one is to authorize confirmation of funds before they process your order. The second one is the actual charge once they ship your item. They place a hold on the first “authorization confirmation” amount (which is the full amount of your order) for 24-48 hrs and they ALSO charge the full amount. So for 24-48 hrs you will have 2 charges and you are unable to use that extra (“temporary”authorization confirmation) amount from your funds until they release it back into your account. It is temporarily (for up to 48 hrs)deducted from your account. So again, you are doubly charged for up to 48 hrs. This is COMPLETELY ridiculous. It is nothing more than accounting ignorance at our “temporary (24-48 hr) expense”. Fortunately, I didn’t need to use that money that they illegally “temporarily”charged to my account for 48 hrs… But for those who don’t have extra funds….. beware! And their customer service supervisor (from out of the country) will hang up on you because they don’t know what to say about their presumably, uneducated, accounting policy administrators’ mishandling.
I received my order quickly
Hello, I received the wrong product. Its not what I ordered. I contacted support and they replied asking for a picture. I returned the picture 2 weeks ago and still have no reply back or the right product, or a refund.
Recieved wrong part refused to return and refund money was promised a confirmation email at time of order never sent made five phone calls and two chats trying to get one had I Recieved the email would have seen part number was wrong and all this would have been prevented never purchase anything from the place again!
Ordered a diving board listed as "in-stock" with arrival expected in 3-10 days. Three weeks later no word on expected delivery, so I cancelled the order. Doheny's has run me around about how they will "attempt" to cancel the order. The order has not shipped but they are now trying to lay it off as their vendor may not "allow" a cancellation. I informed them that their vendor is their vendor and I've only done business with Doheny's, the retailer. I've been told to allow 24-48 hours for an answer from their vendor twice now. There is still no shipment tracking information, so as of this writing it has not shipped, should not have been charged to my card and there is no reason for there not to be a simple cancellation and refund. This is a very shady company to do business with.
Made three attempts to order chlorine. Order was placed each time but a day later I received an email stating my order was cancelled due to a problem processing my credit card and I should contact my bank. I used a different card each time and there is no problem with any of them. I finally had to call and place my order with a customer service rep.
The person I spoke to very helpful. He sent me a picture of the pumps to see if it was what needed. It was delivered fast and when it said it would be.Very satisfied with other things that I have ordered.
Fast shipping, arrived when promised. Product was exactly as described. I have purchased many products from this company over the years, and have never been disappointed.
I had to return my order, I received an email stating the item had been received and credit would be issued in 24 to 72 hours. I called 5 days later after not receiving the credit and was told because it was a vendor item, it would take 7 to 10 business days for me to receive the credit. Called today (11th business day) and was told the vendor hadn't issued credit. I told Doheny's I paid them not their vendor. Asked for a supervisor. Was on hold for 25 minutes. Customer Service told me the refund has been processed but will take 3 to 5 days. I am going to report them to the better business bureau and will not do business with them again.
The worst customer service imaginable. If you manage to get things working or bought something cheap and simple -- you got lucky. Otherwise, prepare to be talking endlessly to customer service in India who will be perusing the same online PDFs as you, never having set eyes on any unit that this company makes or sells. Get ready for shoddy manuals filled with erroneous and incorrect information not applicable to the unit you have, but nonetheless prefaced by "If you don't get a professional to follow the steps exactly, you void the warranty". My advice: pay a little more and buy from a real company that gives a damn about its customers' experience. Or save a few pennies and bend over. You've been warned.
The last time I left a bad review and I was not happy because of this huge solar cover that they left me & was to big for me to handle. I want to apologize it was the year 2020 and everything changed. I took it out on this company . I'm in the process of putting a fence around the pool and like life you order something doesn't work. I have to say Thank you for putting up with me.
Doheny sent me a defective product that leaked so I tried to send it back for a refund. The refund was denied because I installed product on my filter when I discovered it leaked. So beware if you get a defective product they will keep your money and you will have to get product somewhere else. Stay away from this company if you whats good for you.
I ordered an in ground pool cartridge filter from their "on-line" store. Unfortunately, I was sent an above ground pool pump. Naturally, I called them to explain the situation and spoke with a Mr. Jonathan. Jonathan claimed they sent what I ordered. I said, sir, I'm staring at what you sent me - it's not what you say it is. I said, "LISTEN" I know what I ordered, sir, the problem is that it's not what you sent. Pretty simple, he didn't seem to comprehend the issue, he only kept repeating information from his order screen. What I ordered, where it was to be shipped, etc. He went on and on. After 20 minutes, we finally understood each other. I said please just schedule a return and a refund. He put me on hold for about 5 minutes. Then sent me 2 more emails explaining "pasting" labels on a box. We'll see how painful this will be. Obviously, this business is completely incompetent.
