We're not sure if it's rentguard or Arthur Gallagher as both have been in touch regarding our insurance, so I'm just copying what I said about the latter: stay away from this company at all costs! They've unfortunately been recommended by our estate agent so we went with them. Big mistake. They've stopped offering a certain type of insurance AFTER billing us for it, and promised to refund us immediately. That was 5 months ago, no money but countless phonecalls and emails that went nowhere, so we will lawyer up next week. Total scam and utterly disgraceful experience.
I have used Rentguard as a landlord for a number of years, without issue. Since acquisition of the business by Arthur Gallagher, a certain disconnect in the UK operation has occurred. Regular customers are receiving multiple 'follow up' calls urging renewal, more than a month in advance of the date. Portfolio landlords will be aware of renewals as part of everyday business and the practise is tiresome. A straightforward interface needs establishing, so regular customers are not subject to this process. Every time a different agent, unaware of the preceding calls. This must be an American instruction from the parent company, to drive revenue. For many, this must have the opposite effect in this country. This is a central customer service and loyalty matter and risks alienating regular clients of Rentguard. Please examine this internally and resolve, for the benefit of all. Thank you.
I was phoned a couple of weeks before I renewed the policy. The caller said she would give me time to decide and asked if ok to phone back. I said two weeks time would be helpful. I wasn’t pestered by calls and true to her word she phoned when she said she would.
