The worst company from the UK
Been with you for years, never had any problems. Everyone on the phone is pleasant and polite!
been with Rentguard for a few years now very good service
I was with rentguard and cancelled my policy as moved house, funnily enough the pro-rata what we would have been owed turned as a refund just amounted to the exact amount charged as a cancellation fee. Amazed, disgusted, rip off!!!
As always Rentguard have very good.
Renewal done, all straight forward.
Very helpful advisor. Decent price & good cover
Excellent communication!
This company is a JOKE. I urge OpenRent to stop cooperating with them and everyone to avoid this company if you can!!! 1. They could have given you a list at the beginning collecting all the docs they need once. However they didn't do that but instead requested some new docs every other day. And they seem only work and check emails in the morning so even though you sent the docs they need right away it would take them at least one day to reply or request other docs. This made my referencing process lasted 2 weeks! 2. There's no secure link for you to upload all the confidential docs and private info. They asked you to send them everything by email that is not crypted and you don't have other choices. 3. They missed/ignored many docs I sent to them and reached to a ridiculous conclusion. They should never come up with that report if they really carefully checked everything I sent. 4. My nationality and passport issuer country in the report they sent were wrong. I don't know how they achieved to do that with the passport photo I sent just one line below in the report. Plus I asked them to update that and the report was still wrong in the updated version they sent. Luckily my landlord decided to ignore the report they sent and still rented the flat to me. But this experience dealing with them is very awful.
Complain complain and keep complaining, just got £100 compensation because they don’t ever reply to emails and calls … worst company I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
Renewal is a seamless process, giving reassurance that appropriate cover continues to protect your property.
Been with rent guard for years and this year has the worst service .. renewed insurance when I specifically asked for a price before renewing .. spoke to me like I was an idiot when I called to ask why they had t sent the renewal figure
I was charged about £5 for a call to rentguard to correct THEIR OWN ERROR...
Dreadful company They ask for all this information and full access to open banking, employer and landlord details, leading you to think they'll actually contact those people, and then they don't and come up with incorrect information. For example, instead of asking my employer to confirm my salary, they used open banking to create some estimation of my income which didn't take into account any of my pre-tax deductions (like a pension, which virtually everyone has...). No logic at all. When I emailed them they said 'oh yeah well you opted to use open banking for income confirmation', then had to send another report to my landlord, who was freaking out in the meantime because she thought I'd lied about my salary. Then because I pay the rent at our existing property, they refused to recommend my partner because they wouldn't confirm that she had any history of living in the property - even though she pays me every month and is on our tenancy agreement! Again, easily solved if they had just bothered to approach the people we noted down as our landlord references. Avoid at all costs.
Absolutely horrible experience. The owners of a property my partner and I enquired about on Openrent strictly wanted to use Openrent referencing so we went ahead, put a holding deposit down, sent the documents within a day as we had about a week to move in and had a guarantor who is a homeowner. We had to chase Rentguard so they could speed their referencing process and in the end they failed us. Landlord then wanted our guarantor to go through the same steps but guarantors checks failed too for absolutely no fair reason, didn't even bother asking us for our bank statements, payslips or employment contract to do a detailed search (in the end our tenancy application got refused, we lost a beautiful apartment but thankfully found a much better one). Landlords, please avoid using this company at all costs.
Good friendly service. Used them for when I put my property out rent.
It’s more than two weeks a go that I canceled after founding another house. They mailed me more times that I get my money back (1.000 euros) but I still didn’t have it back!
Very poor service from this company at renewal No response to emails, phone calls and the renew now feature does not work..would not recommend
Dishonest and incredibly inappropriate customer service, the reports produced are conflicting and basically false.
From the beginning of the process they were very rude, the person dealing with my referencing was always changing. The final report was contradictory, confusing and inaccurate. They're unapproachable and unprofessional. They ask for documents and then seems like the documents weren't even open, since the info wasn't taken into consideration. Overall, if you need to get reference checked don't use any service that partners or belongs to this company.
