Have been with Rentguard for about five years and although I have never had a claim, I've always been very pleased with the simplicity of it all, the ease in renewing, the suitability of the coverage and the low cost .

I found my dealings with Rentguard to be very easy. Compared to other brokers I called on the same day, I found them to be straight forward and professional.

I have been with rent guard for landlords insurance for quite a few years now, I have found them very competitive and very easy to contact with any queries I may have.

Made the call, asked a few questions, got my answers and confirmed the cover; took about 5 mins in all. Great.

I had to make a claim in 2013 and they dealt with it quickly, and in a fair manner, to my satisfaction without quibbling.

My attempt to renew my policy proved to be a rather painful experience. My existing policy was taken out jointly with the owners of the upstairs flat and was due to expire. After receiving the renewal notice, I contacted the owners of the upstairs flat who informed me that they had made his own arrangements and therefore did not want to renew. On this basis, I telephoned Rentguard and asked to renew the policy only in my name and only for my flat. In order to do this, I was told that I needed both owners of the upstairs flat to confirm to Rentguard that they did not wish to be on the new policy. I explained that I wasn't seeking to amend the terms of the existing policy. Rather, I just wanted to take out a new policy based on my flat only once the existing policy had expired. Computer said no. I contacted the owners who e mailed Rentguard separately to ask to remove their details from the policy, which meant that I could then call them back to renew. The only problem I had was that they were unwilling to provide me with any guidance as to what figure to use for the rebuiled cost, based on the details they already had. I was informed that I could register my details on a separate website and use their free calculator based on the location and square footage, which I did. My third phonecall to Rentguard enabled me to renew my policy but it took much longer than necessary. Rentguard claims to be experienced at offering policies for landlords, although I think they fell short on this occasion. I am still puzzled by their decision to ask the existing policyholders to confirm that they did not wish to be on the new policy. I also think they should have some kind of tool on their website to help potential customers arrive at a sensible rebuild valuation.

I was pleased to be able to telephone and get a reply at 8 in the morning. Operator knew what she was talking about and checked I had read certain clauses. Very pleasant and efficient lady

This is the first time I have used Rentguard but after using the same broker for a number of years thought it was time to look else where. The broker had not done anything wrong and provided a good service over a number of years, I just think the time was right whilst we were looking at the insurance renewals to see what else was out there and the sales email hit my desk the same time. After a quick phone call an almost like for like policy came out £90 cheaper.actually the only difference was an increase of liability cover and the loss of a £1000 worth of contents which was not needed. After a discussion with my partner I rang back although missed the sales agent they called me back very quickly. We will certainly be given them an option on our insurances.

I live abroad but come the time to renew my insurance, I just called the regular UK number and made payment by credit card. My only other comment is that I think there should be a dedicated international dialing number rather than having to be routed into a different department, from the operator which answers the UK number.

Some landlord insurance is not suitable, not fit for purpose in my opinion e.g. having to drain the water off when a property is empty. However this product allows me to keep the heating and power on while I get it ready for the next tenant.

Excellent service. Unfailingly polite and helpful. Electronic delivery of reminders, policy documents etc. makes the process environmentally friendly. Good pricing with further discount for RLA (Residential Landlords Association) members.

Plain speaking company with straightforward and helpful employees (although the last one I spoke to talked so fast I had to ask her to slow down). I have used them over a 10 year period and they have reasonable premiums and are always available by telephone without 'your business is important to us........................' and an interminable wait.
