Excellent bike and have many hours of use. Purchase from 50 cycles was very efficient. Looking already to upgrading to my next Kalkoff.

I bought my bike many years ago from Loughborough. Staff told me I had a big grin when I came back from a trial 'run. I have been grinning ever since - the Proconnect a great bike - well made & lots of fun over many years!

1) Half a year to fix a bike - unacceptable. 2) Successfully sued 50cycles because they would not replace 18Ah battery. Only paid out after court order was issued saying they didn't know about case. Yeah right!

Absolutely shocking customer services. I paid for my bike upfront and due to being messed about by Loughborough i cancelled. They never return my calls and cashed my cycle scheme voucher after i cancelled.

Have just bought an electric bike from 50cycles. Ordered the bike on Monday, arrived on Friday. Unfortunately the bike rack was damaged in transit so, sent a photo of the damage through on the Friday morning of delivery and a new rack arrived the next day. Great service!

Ordered 3 parts last November (2016) received one part with lots of excuses as to why they couldn't ship the other parts. Took my money in advance for parts they cannot supply. Now they just don't respond to my emails requesting the parts or a refund.

I bought a fantastic bike, the bike is very good and a very good product, but I definitely have a lot of issues with the way that they deal with customer, before, during and after sales. - As soon as i have expressed interest in the bicycle, it disappeared from the clearance section - When I went to test the bike the guy in the shop in London did not know: - price of the bike - price of other parts - availability of other parts - After 1 month of riding I lost one bolt from the crank and all the other were completely lose, I take to the closest shop to repair it as soon as I have noticed it. The guy in the shop said that this should never happen in the lifetime of the bicycle! the bike was supposed to be serviced as soon as I bought it! - After 3 months from the purchase a piece that require substitution and has been identified in the pre sale service is not arrived yet, they are not calling you for say it you need obviously to chase them.

Brilliant cycle (Kalkhoff), takes me (at 80 yrs and awaiting hip replacement) over Highland gradients of 20%+. It is, of course, not without effort, but that is part of the purpose of cycling. I plan an 'adventure' for each summer, involving long ascents of major Scottish (or Lake District) passes, always with great enjoyment because the Kalkhoff makes it possible. I have yet to try the Hardknott Pass in the Lakes, which gets to 33%, but expect that this summer. Help and advice from 50 Cycles sometimes takes a day or two for a reply, but always helpful and sorts my questions out.

Bought a Kalkohff Tasman city bike in 2014 and regretted it from the start. Over the two years of owning it, The motor has had to be replaced three time the first one was replaced after just 4 months than if failed again 6 months later and the last time they tooled over three months to get a replacement. The bike was returned to me October 2016 and did have a new motor, but the handle bars and forks had not be refitted properly and fell apart when I unpacked it. I could not believe it, and this was after they had promised a free service because of the time it had taken to repair it. When I phoned to complain the attitude of Matt Goody thier service manager was terrible, as far as he was concerned it must have been my fault. Their customer service is terrible their attitude is that any problem is not there fault and you should feel lucky that they are helping you. The bike it self, when working is quite good but if you use it each day as I did expect to have problems.

The company seems to concentrate on importing Kalkhoff electric cycles from Germany. The machines themselves (we have bought four) are of generally high quality, albeit quite pricey. Where the company falls down is on ts after-sales service. The two Safari bikes we now have have a serious software problem in that the speedometer/odometer reads about 25% too high. The problem has been the subject of much discussion in Germany. 50cycles do not seem unduly concerned, and despite promising to send a kit for us to reprogram the software now seem to expect us to take the bikes to Bristol (60 miles away) to get them fixed.
