I first purchase a cheaper electric bike on 50 cycles but unfortunately there is a problem with the sram hub gear change and found out later it cannot fix so instead i have to return the bike and 50 cycles is very kind enough to change with another one,since i experience the problem on that kind of bike i decided to buy a much higher prize with different gear hub,and its a shimano 8gear change. I have run up 250miles with my new bike and im completely satisfied how far the full charged battery can go. Staff are very easy to deal with my problem and they are very helpfull throughout the whole process. Thanks 50cycles.

I give five stars because when I had a small problem with rear pick up the young man rang me back within minutes that what I call customer care also give me a call back about 3 days after just to make sure it was all ok

Bike developed gear troubles in Shimano hub after a few weeks and I arranged for our local shop to confirm the problem and send off the hub to Madison . I had emailed 50 cycles to confirm that they would be responsible for the cost as has been agreed by phone. They then refused to pay saying that the after sales manager did not know of the arrangement. After much persistence they offered me some good panniers as part payment. Apart from this and the chain breaking after about 300 miles it has been OK though hub does make nasty noises from time to time.

My second Kalkhoff e bike from 50 Cycles, absolutely great, and means I go on cycling. The power means I can go further knowing I can get back again whatever the hills or headwinds.

Not sure why I have been asked for feedback now - I bought my bike a good few years ago so hope improvement have been made. I love the bike, but problems from start to finish: not delivered when stated; so poorly put together that bits fell off: bike stand etc, had to take local bike shop for full check- 50 cycled paid; not anyone's fault, but battery lock broke - service not good, sent a new lock and said it was easy to fit: it is not. Needed to send back for service, bike was returned but again not good news for example the dust covers for the tyre valves had not been replaced, when I rang to ask why they didn't seem to have a record of the service, reluctantly sent some to me- the wrong size. I gave up at this point, I have haven't engaged with the company since. A shop has opened in Shoreham, I know that I will need a new battery soon, but have put off buying due to previous standards of service! As I say this is some time ago, and I hope improvements have been made.

Enjoyed electric bikes very much. Great for use with a motor home. Would prefer if the bikes were lighter in weight.

I purchased my kalkoff Tasman I encountered some minor issues with the chain but the Loughborough guys were really helpfull all together a great customer experience

Even though I could have purchased my e-bike cheaper online, I chose to buy from 50cycles on the basis of their specialisation in e-bikes, their retail presence and their open-handed willingness to allow me test rides over their whole range - which, is most in all likelihood the most extensive available. The only reason I am giving them only 4 stars in that I am a little uncertain as to their level of expertise with regards to the bike that I chose, (a Giant E+1), which is a trifle against the grain being an electric touring bike as opposed to the commuter style bikes, which form the majority of the e-bike market.

Kalkoff bikes are very good; they transformed my life and sense of self after I lost some mobility. 50cycles were a big part it all.

Terrible company, this company sold me a bike for £2800 because I wanted quality, it went wrong after a few weeks, and they asked me to send it back in the original box which was huge so had been taken to the dump, they wanted me to go to Halfords to ask for a box. They eventually took it back it was tested and found nothing wrong. It was so bad I could hardly ride it and their tech department said I wasn’t peddling hard enough, but if I sent it back again they would charge me if they couldn’t find a problem even though it had a 2 year warranty. A new company started selling Kalkhoff bikes closer to me and they asked me to take it to them. They immediately said it was not right after a short ride. They sent for the Kalkhoff Rep who told them the battery was no good and the motor needed replacing. They did the work under warranty and it’s a different bike now. 50 Cycles sell lots of these bikes and after having mine back should have known it wasn’t right if they tested it. I think their service is absolute rubbish, and their customer service is diabolical, steer clear of this incompetent company.

Excellent sales service . No problems with Kalkoff bike so not needed after sales service. Just clocked up 800 miles on bike.

I purchased my e bike two years ago at 50 cycles in Shoreham-by-sea Sussex. When I discovered that the front suspension was not functioning correctly I returned it to the same outlet to complain. The result was not satisfactory and the staff seemed to have very little knowledge of bikes other than how to sell them. Since then I've discovered that during the cold weather the suspension is so stiff it does not function, but in summer temperatures its OK. I'm not happy with it but learned to put up with it.

I live in the hilly Lake District and 4years ago bought a Kalkhof Agattu from 50 Cycles. Brilliant - I’ve used it for commuting, leisure rides and touring and been over some serious Lake District passes. Even once carried a rocking chair home on the back rack. The bike has been incredibly reliable and I’d have no hesitation in buying another from this dealer.
