You just can’t trust these people

I visited the Loughborough shop to try out bikes and they were most helpful. I chose another Khalkof, having had one years ago. The improvements were amazing and I have taken it up to Wales on the train and cycled the quiet canals. I have done a few hundred mikes and love the bike more every day. I booked it into Shoreham shop for its first service. They were amazing and did a great job.

Very disappointing. An email query following purchase was totally ignored. * Re reply from 50cycles - I only got ANY kind of response after chasing them up after being ignored. That really should not be necessary - and no apology whatsoever.

Tasman Impulse 8 HS 17Ah Nobody seemed very concerned about the constant problem I had with the chain tension becoming slack no matter how tightly the real wheel nuts were tensioned. The problem was never properly resolved. The Loughborough branch appeared to be more of a handling and assembling depot than a retail outlet and the customer service was unacceptably poor. I live too far away from the shop/depot to make constant trips over there and consequently I have used the bike very little. Overall, very disappointing.

My wife's Kalkhoff is wonderful. We used to ride a tandem so we could be together. On solos I was always waiting at hilltops for a breathless partner to appear. Now we are too old for the tandem and I now attempt, mostly unsuccessfully, to be first at hilltops. At some point in time I will have to admit defeat and buy an electric bike for myself. She's had her Kalkoff now for 3 years - no mechanical problems whatsoever. Very impressed with the German engineering.

Really impressed with the knowledge and service offered. The bike (Kalkhoff Include) is amazing and really intelligently designed. Everything seems to have been thought of and in its right place. It is great to be back on a bike after over 15 years and managing the hills of Cornwal with great ease. A real joy and has provided an additional dimension to the quality of my life.

I bought two Kalkhoff bikes - (about three years ago) and the after service when we had an issue after delivery was absolutely terrible. The delivery on the second bike was also very poor. I've had better service from Halfords on a £75 bike. IMO they were only interested in the sale. No complaints about the Kalkhoff bikes they are very good!

We purchased a Kalkhoff Agutti e-bike for my wife some years ago; it still works fine and 50-cycles have given us good advice on maintenance etc over the years. So no hassle reliable service and product; would purchase again when I need an e-bike.
