The first documented evidence of viticulture in the Pieroth family was in 1675, and we haven't stopped producing wine since - in fact we still make wine from our estate in Burg Layen, Germany, where everything started for us. The name of Pieroth is synonymous with viticulture expertise, strong family traditions and an unsurpassed range of exclusive wines. Excellent customer service and expertise acquired over many years have made us the undisputed market leaders in direct wine sales all over the world. Why not come on a wine-derful journey with us from grape to glass.
My husband to be and I were invited to a wine tasting evening with my parents last week, it was a lovely experience! Arun from the Keith office was fantastic, told us so much about the different wines we were tasting and a great laugh too. The wine is lovely, we are so happy to be ordering our wedding wine from pieroth to share with our friends and family for them to enjoy as much as we did! Thanks again!
Arun from Keith office did my wine tasting nigh that I purchased from the Turriff show. He was very knowledgeable and great company and we had a great evening. I am now a loyal pieroth customer as I have thoroughly enjoyed the wine. Would definitely recommend.
Had a lovely wine tasting with Arun from the Keith office he was very knowledgeable and I had a lovely time such a nice person.
Arun visited on 22/8/18, and was extremely professional and helpful. He is obviously a very knowledgeable and experienced representative, as he was very informative about the product range, and its roots. The wines sampled were very palatable, with a distinct taste accorded to the more sweeter varieties. The wines were very nice, and would highly recommend. Unfortunately, the blue spoon with the coffee mug set was found to be broken upon opening, but this does not deter from providing a 5 star rating. *** Update - 24th October 2018 **** Sadly, events have driven me to post the following, which unfortunately contradicts my initial review. To explain................ Having requested the Trust Pilot review, Arun promised to deliver 2 bottles of complimentary wine, along with a new set of mugs to compensate for the earlier broken merchandise. This is now three months he has been promising these. Contacting him at various times, in this period, he gave reasons for being unable to deliver, which were fair enough. Unfortunately, these reasons were always given after the promised delivery, meaning at times I had been staying in for him calling. He never advised in advance he would not be able to visit when he promised, which has wasted my time. I do realise that sometimes, unexpected events result in change of plans, but is has happened so often now, I am not naive to think its just coincidence repeating itself. This week (again) he said he would visit, and despite staying in and messaging him both on the day before, and on the day he promised he would arrive, he didn't show, and didn't even have the courtesy to reply, even though I have confirmation he received my messages. Not only is this disappointing, it is extremely inconvenient. Resultantly, I have downgraded my review from 5 to 2 stars, and in closing would summarise the service from Pieroth as being purveyors of beautiful wines, but it's a real shame that their customer service and false promises detract greatly from the quality of their product.
I was given a voucher for a 4 person traditional tasting with which a free bottle of wine is included and 4 coffee mugs - This is quoted as costing £79 on the Pieroth website. So £19.25 per person. This would cost £25 per person if done on a Friday-Sunday. Here are some facts about the tasting. You do a quiz as you go along. The first question was 'What colour wine does Chardonnay make'. Another question (of the 6), was 'what is the standard size of a wine bottle'. I won't spoil the fun for anyone, but that demonstrates the level of wine knowledge on show. Each serving was very small. No problem with this, but in total you probably drink about a large glass of wine (175ml). So for 4 people this is a one bottle. We had to provide our own wine glasses. One of the bottles had been open for almost 3 weeks. Apparently the wines that Pieroth select are able to hold their quality for this long. Pricing was quoted as £13.99 to £22.99 net i.e. 20% VAT needs to be added. Its strange to quote net when selling to individuals and I would doubt that any of this wines would be held in a bonded warehouse. So £16.80 to £27.50 would be the actual amount of money needed to buy a bottle. We got to taste about 10 wines. My personal opinion of the wines, was that they were very low quality. I would be disappointed if I paid more that £6 for a bottle of any of the wines. My opinion of Pieroth is that they are selling very poor quality wine/experiences at inflated prices, whilst keeping their overheads extremely low. I would give 1 star but there has not been unreasonable and rude contact. My recommendation would be to head down to Majestic (or similar), spend the money there and ask for some recommendations from the staff. They also provide free glass hire. Not only will you get better quality wine, but you will also have a good amount of wine left over in each bottle, so each person can continue to drink the ones they prefer afterwards.
Had wine tasting last night in Torquay absolutely fantastic in. Alan was amazing. Thank you so much.
We have had at least three, maybe more home based wine tasting sessions with Angelo Giovanni Francesco Tebano and have also met Angelo and team at a couple of other Pieroth events. Always been well looked after, had some good laughs and sampled and later purchased lots of very fine wines. Totally recommend Pieroth and the wines provided. If you like your wines, I totally recommend trying a Pieroth tasting session - you will not be disappointed. Wines arrive promptly once ordered and are well packed. Looking forward to our next tasting session....
*****ONCE AGAIN I'M NOT ALLOWED SAY WHAT I FEEL***** Pieroth strike again. Despite the 'DISPUTE' where I do not believe I owe Pieroth ANY money. Yesterday I received a letter stating a County Court Judgement was going to be raised against me unless I paid my 'bill' (for the record it is not my bill, I did not buy or order any wine). As I do not want the grief, I have reluctantly called Pieroth and paid the amount they say I owed. I am not allowed say how my original interaction with Pieroth made me feel or how this latest demand from them makes me feel however, you can guess how negative my experience is when I can't say names of the people who were so aggressive to me, can't say how I feel as Pieroth complain that it is "spiteful", can't say much about anything in case it offends Pieroth in any way. Check the title of the review - no opinions Pieroth - just facts. Never engage with this company, there are some wonderful wine companies out there with better ranges, better prices and better service. **** I RECOMMEND NO ONE DEALS WITH THIS COMPANY****
Had a wine tasting with a group of friends hosted by Kevin J, we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and had lots of laughs. Good selection of wine to try and good measures given allowing you to properly taste the wine. A group of 30 year old men and women he adapted his style to have banter with us and brought affordable wine to taste. The loss of one star was due to their delivery service being naff, we got a text roughly an hour before it was delivered leaving us no option to arrange recieving it so it went to our neighbours. They then only dropped one case off meaning our neighbours had to be bothered for a second day holding the second case for us after customer services sorted it out. Quite expensive overall but when your used to buying a 9quid bottle from tesco you need to adjust your expectations on how much a bottle of good wine costs. We didnt like it, we loved it!
My friends and I recently had a wine tasting night with Jeremy from Pieroth after buying a great offer from The National Wedding Fair. Jeremy was great, he was very knowledgeable about the wines we tasted and answered all the questions we had (which was quite a lot!), not just about the specific wines we were trying but also general questions we had about wines. There were 4 of us at the tasting and 3 of us were very late for a number of reasons but Jeremy was very understanding and patient which was much appreciated, and he took the time to recommend what food we should be trying with each wine. We were not in a position to buy any of the wines as when we bought the initial tasting we were not informed of how much the wine was (minimum order of 12 bottles, cheapest bottle about £14) but this is something we all felt would be something to consider for the future. All in all a really fun night with a wine expert!
A great wine tasting evening hosted by a very knowledgeable Louise Saunders. Just the right balance between being informative about the wines, without being overly formal. Good range of wines, with tastes for all from sweet to dry. Recommended.
Thoroughly enjoyed a second wine tasting experience hosted by Mat Dines last night. We tried the summer wine collection and, once again, Mat was extremely knowledgeable. Amongst the four of us, we have been to many wine tasting events and have to say that Pieroth ranks amongst the best. The range of wines gives everybody something to enjoy and also introduces you to some wines that you might think you won’t like - but end up liking very much! Mat is a superb host. He is always punctual, engaging and polite and will very competently answers questions about the wine makers, regions and grapes. He is an absolute credit to Pieroth. An excellent night!
Sam Rugman is a brilliant and knowledgable Pieroth rep. The wines are fantastic and the wine tasting sessions are great fun. Sometimes the delivery with Yodel has been a bit fustraiting but no fault of Pieroths. Apart from that I would highly recommend, even if you aren’t a wine person I can almost guarantee Sam can find one for you!
Fabulous evening with Romano. Beautiful selection of wines. Romano was very informative and engaging; generous with his samples and pleasant company. No hard sell at end of evening.
Beware of their survey. It gives every impression that they are going to send you free wine samples to try, plus two free coffee mugs. In fact they don't send you anything; it is a way for them to get into your home where they will try to get you to buy their wines. If they had stated their intentions in the survey at the outset that would be fair. I will never buy their wines. I see that they replied saying that they promised four mugs, not rwo. Silly me. I think they are wrong but whether it was two, four or a hundred mugs they promised I still got zero. Does it matter what they promise if they do not deliver on that promise?
TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NEVER LET YOU BOOK! Do not buy! Been trying to redeem a voucher for 7 months and been complete ignored. Sent multiple emails. Left message and sent many contact requests. Managed to get through to someone who was very rude. Gave me another number to ring and told me it had nothing to do with her if the London office wouldn’t ring back. Voucher has now expired. Utter RUBBISH. They’ve even had the audacity to report my review for defamatory language, yet haven’t taken the time to book my voucher. DO NOT BUY THIS YOURE THROWING MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN!
Do these people exist??? Have been trying to get in touch for over 2 weeks, they don’t answer their phone or respond to messages we have left. I was given a voucher as a gift, has my friend been scammed?
We had a tasting with James- he was excellent. Friendly, professional and the most knowledgeable wine merchant I have dealt with and I've had dealings with a few. Would recommend a tasting with Pieroth and ask for James. Only negative comment would be that the amount given to taste is not really enough to make a fully informed judgement. We are happy with the wines we purchased
We had such a great night. Suggi was really knowledgeable and a lot of fun. And the wine was delicious!
Francis was excellent and the wide variety wines were fabulous and full bodied!
