The first documented evidence of viticulture in the Pieroth family was in 1675, and we haven't stopped producing wine since - in fact we still make wine from our estate in Burg Layen, Germany, where everything started for us. The name of Pieroth is synonymous with viticulture expertise, strong family traditions and an unsurpassed range of exclusive wines. Excellent customer service and expertise acquired over many years have made us the undisputed market leaders in direct wine sales all over the world. Why not come on a wine-derful journey with us from grape to glass.
Colin Toghill from Pieroth joined us at our appartment in Birmingham and was a fantastic host. Hugely impressed with him and Pieroth. Thanks for a wonderful evening, fantastic education and great company. We’re now customers and look forward to next time. Please ignore any negative reviews, it’s really fun.
So I want to be as balanced as possible about this experience. Firstly the booking process, had no problems with this, it was easy, the company responded in a timely manner and turned up to the appointment on time. The tasting itself: this is NOT a tasting experience, it is a sales pitch which you pay for. The host was fine, but there was very little interaction about what we were tasting, just a whistle stop tour through their wines and what made them so 'good' aka a sales pitch. There was a script and he stuck to it. Meagre pours, you get a couple of sips per wine, no real information about them or the grape varieties, no discussion or education. Wines: were fine, definitely not worth the money, a couple of nice whites, no nice reds. At the end of the tasting there was a bit of a hard sell, a yarn spun about the wine list completely changing on Monday. "Get them now before they are gone". We were not falling for it and something about the whole experience did not sit right with us. Price/value for money: This was a gift and while it is listed on their site as £149 I believe our friends got an offer at a Home Improvement show. But having said that the fact remains you are essentially paying for a sales pitch, which is extremely cheeky and designed to sucker people into believing they are getting a fun experience with friends. It is not this, don't be fooled.
Absolute disgrace. I bought a tasting experience and upgraded it to a weekend voucher which I wanted to use for my birthday. It appears that it is impossible to actually book a rastung experience i have called -akwsys diverts to voicemail and emailed-both my local rep and the company. Despite countless emails and calls over the period of a couple of months they havent replied to any and I can't use my voucher. Beyond frustrated-had been looking fwd to this, instead I've ended up unable to use my voucher and unable to get a refund. Total waste of mony
Had a tasting tonight using a gift voucher we were given. We're not wine experts but have a reasonable knowledge and tasting palate for good and bad wines. None of the wines were very unpleasant but none stood out at all. At the end of the evening we were given the price for each bottle - absolutely crazy prices for very average / below average wines - tasted way better wines at half the price. The samples were absolutely tiny - which didn't really matter as nothing was worth exploring in more depth. Throughout the delivery we were spoken AT for the whole evening - little to no interaction, or interest in us. I'm assuming this is the script for Pieroth!!. Heavy going for a Wednesday night.
Would have been 5 stars except Pieroth had to rearrange tasting. Simon was fantastic. Knowledgeable and very pleasant. No hard sell whatsoever. Very pleased with the selection of wines he brought to the tasting. He definitely was not mean with his samples. Having been a past Pieroth customer it was good to be reunited with their excellent wines. The wines I ordered were delivered quickly and taste just as good as the samples at the tasting.
We were sold a wine tasting experience that paired wine with food. We were told it was educational and there was 'no hard sell' and these points were confirmed in writing. In reality there was no food pairing and no real knowledge of wines but there was plenty of hard sell and pressure to buy there and then. In short, we had paid for a sales-person to come in to our house and pressure us and our friends to buy wine that was nothing special, expensive and definitely not what we wanted.
Had a Great Night.. thanks Rob for traveling such a distance to see us... you are very Passionate & have a Great knowledge on the Pieroth 🍷🍷🍷 Product 👍🏼 & also very Tolerant of our Humour 😂 Overall .. FUN, Tasty, Empty Bank Account 🤑🤑😭 NO Regrets CHEERS!!
Brilliant evening with Colin as our host - very knowledgable and friendly host and some fabulous wines! Have another wine tasting evening booked for two weeks time. Thanks for a great night!
We had a wine tasting evening for 4 on Thursday. Mark rang up beforehand to check everything was okay and arrived promptly. We had a very enjoyable evening with a great range of wines and Mark was very friendly and accomodating. Highly recommend Mark/Pieroth Wine tasting.
The wine tasting experience was given to me as a present from my daughter. She also bought a 2nd wine tasting experience as a present for friends of hers. Pieroth cancelled my experience with just 24 hrs notice and just didn't turn up to my daughter's friends experience without any notice. In both cases it was embarrassing as I had invited friends around for the wine tasting followed by dinner, and likewise for my daughter's friends. They also have many bad reviews on Tripadvisor. All I say to companies that give me bad service is this: you will not survive if you behave like this; there are too many good competitors out there.
Angelika was fantastic! Had a brilliant evening tasting all the different wines. Highly recommended!!
I'd just like to say thank you to Dougy in Aberdeen for this help and guidance over the past few months. He has come to understand my preferences and recommend wines accordingly while also trying to push me out of my normal range to widen my palate. The wine he provides is always well received and a joy to drink.
Once again Dougie came to the house and knew exactly which wines each of us would enjoy. Have booked a tasting with friends in a few weeks time.
Had a wine tasting with dougy gray in Aberdeen, great range of wines and dougy was very knowledgeable and conveyed the details of the wines in a friendly and helpful way.
We had a lovely evening, Arun from the Keith office was both funny and informative, he impressed us with the history of the wines. Even managed to tell us a few things about wine we didn't know, will certainly be recommending this company to friends n family.
Excellent selection of wine and Dougy (Aberdeen) was very knowledgeable.
Excellent and informative evening with Arun from the Keith office. Lovely wines, something for everyone's taste and non-pushy for a sale. We all had an enjoyable and relaxed evening and would recommend.
Huge thank you to Dougie ( oi wine guy) for an excellent evening. Booked a wine tasting evening while family were up visiting us in the north east. Everyone really enjoyed the night. Dougie was very knowledgeable and made they evening thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended. Thank you again.
Big thanks to Arun from the Keith office. We had a great wine tasting experience. Very informative and we were very impressed with the wine. Not at all pushy to buy but the wine was so nice that we did! Will definitely recommend to friends :) Mel & Mike
