The first documented evidence of viticulture in the Pieroth family was in 1675, and we haven't stopped producing wine since - in fact we still make wine from our estate in Burg Layen, Germany, where everything started for us. The name of Pieroth is synonymous with viticulture expertise, strong family traditions and an unsurpassed range of exclusive wines. Excellent customer service and expertise acquired over many years have made us the undisputed market leaders in direct wine sales all over the world. Why not come on a wine-derful journey with us from grape to glass.
Nice wines but a shade on the expensive side. Rory very helpful with choosing and brought a good selection to the tasting.
Great tasting and lots of fun. Alan Hill was very entertaining. Looking forward to the next one.
Pieroth has spoiled us for wine! We have found the best selection of reds, whites and bubbly-no other wine merchant comes close. Not only are we consistently finding new wines to order, then savour, we are learning so much from our wine rep-Dougy. Through the tastings we have had here in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, we have found some steadfast favourites that are now our "house red" and "house white". We order some special occasion wines as well too. Dougy even arranged a wedding bubbly with beautiful personalised labels that we gave as a gift. He is such an informative. charming person and really knows the wines! We are so grateful for Dougy and Pieroth. Highly recommended!!!
Been with Peiroth for several years now. My rep Rory Brisby knows exactly my tastes in wine and always goes that extra mile to deliver the sort of customer service that is so rare these days.
Pieroth has vastly improved my wine drinking experience. The customer service is excellent, I have an easy friendly relationship with Rory my rep. I can simply text him when I'm needing more wine, and he assembles a case based on my preferences and has it delivered. The tasting experiences are also a great service. The wine is of the highest quality, and regularly wows and surprises my guests with it's brilliance. Five Star!!
We had a very informative afternoon with Doug in Strathdon, Scotland, He gave us wonderful information about the wines and the vineyards. This was our second meeting with him and it was thoroughly enjoyable and will do it again.
4 years ago we had a wine tasting from Pieroth. Since then absolutely first class in home service from the team in the St Helen's office. In particular Sam, our local agent, is very helpful and knowledgeable. He knows our tastes now and keeps us up to date with latest wines. Always look forward to his regular visits to sample the newest wines.
i would like to thank roland and the newmarket office for the great servicce and peiroth for the great wine bottoms up
Well we attended a wine tasting on the 25th November fat from impressed.we were sat at a table were we had to wait to be attended to.the guy who was dealing with us was also doing another 2 tables so we were poured wine left to try it then he would come back after doing the same to the other tables.we had the same glass for dry sweet Rosie and red wine told us it doesn’t matter then when we said we would have a think about it he promptly closed his folder told us that would be a no then lifted all the wine and left us to which we got our coats and left,so after 2 years of being a customer we won’t be back
The wine parties are good and the sales rep is very engaging. But the wines just aren't very good reasonably priced for the quality. I've gone twice and am now sure it's the wines themselves.
Bought as a present for 81 year old mother, who enjoys her wines. She invited 3 similarly aged friends. They enjoyed the wines although very meagre portions. However, they were then subjected to the hard sell by the salesperson and being the age they are, felt obliged to buy, despite the overpricing. To add insult, they were not told that the prices did not include VAT, WHY NOT and so were presented with a larger bill than expected. Tried to contact the salesman, James, on his mobile who, surprise, surprise, did not answer. They are in the process of attempting to cancel their order as I type. We were taken in by the “good deal” at a food festival although I can’t imagine anyone paying the supposed full price.
i must give my appreciation for dean, brisbane, a great bloke to do business with , very helpful with stock knowledge - a great memory of taste in wines and a full catalogue of future wines for each member of the family....thank you, dean, looking forward to the new year........garry
We did this about three years ago. We were actually approached in the food and drink tent at a county show. We were told that we’d get this wonderful wine tasting party for £19. My daughter persuaded me that my mum would find it a fun birthday present. Firstly the payment was taken with an old manual system and they took the £19 twice. We eventually got back the second payment but it took a lot of effort. Secondly I would say that the host, a quirky older man started off great and had knowledge and the odd funny story. All went really well until he started to tell us he was ready to take an order. This would have cost about £200 - £250. Obviously I expected that buying would be an option but it was pushed in such a way that it felt like it was completely expected of us. Since this was not something I’d signed up to I made it clear I wouldn’t be pushed into it. Minimum purchase was a case. The moment the host realised we weren’t buying it was as though his personality changed and he got the jump with us and abruptly left. I was completely mortified, as it put a damper on the whole evening. Fortunately my mum has a sense of humour and really saw the funny side. Maybe because she’d comsumed wine. We did get a complimentary bottle, that helped a bit.
Had a tasting last week, and it was interesting, informative and thoroughly enjoyable. Dougie made us feel relaxed and comfortable, and the wines were diverse and excellent. All in all, a fine experience
Very upset with being told a lie re payment. Told the sales person I didn't want any just yet but will consider it later in Nov or Dec. was told that I wouldn't be charged until end of Nov., but lo & behold my account was debited before I even received the wine. This caused a lot of stress and I will now close my accoont with the company as most of the wines are too expensive in any case. I can live without the wine just hate being lied to and taken advantage of.
I was invited to a home wine tasting at my friends house. It was a really lovely evening. Andrew was a good host, he spent time talking to us and getting to know us before the wine tasting began. He spoke to us about each bottle and there was plenty of variety. Some of the wines were pricey but others I felt were really worth it because of how nice they were. Obviously, not all wines were to my taste but I enjoyed trying them all nonetheless, the experience was good. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the purchasing. I'd have been happy to order some of the bottles I enjoyed but as the host wasn't ordering I wasn't sure what to do. I'm still interested but would appreciate a wine list so I can decide. It all felt a bit rushed.
Our local Pieroth Rep (Dougie) gave four of us a tasting this afternoon and it was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and Dougie was spot on with his knowledge of the wines. He was very patient with the three garrulous ladies whilst they and the two husbands present got a chance to taste all the wines and had a great afternoon, We will definitely be at Banff Springs in November. Regards Mike Smith
We had a wine tasting for 6 people and it was Fantastic. we all had a great time and we had a lot of very nice rare wines. My guests really enjoyed themselves and Nick was excellent at discribing the wines and what food best goes with them. Dont compare these fine wines to horrible mass produced supermarket wines. The evening was very entertaining and we will definately do it again. We chose to buy some of the wines because they were very nice and very different and the service was amazing the wines were all delivered within 7 days. Graham
Very unprofessional - I won't go into the late arrival because it's far too long a story. The actual tasting wasn't very informative and I thought the 'expert' didn't have a lot of knowledge about wine - it was mostly a sales pitch for Pieroth. Very small quantities of the tasters, and most of the bottles (except one) were near the end so it felt like we were getting the dregs at the end of a busy night. No tasting notes were provided - we each had a very scrappy sheet of paper which looked like it had been put together by a five year old, and I was asked if I had six pens (which I managed to find in various locations around the house - I had thought that tasting notes, pens/pencils and paper would be supplied). The whole thing was very unprofessional and I would definitely not recommend - and the person we'd already bought a voucher for (who was at this tasting) won't be using them either!
So disappointing. To be honest we really enjoyed the tasting as it was lovely to get together with friends. But it was a whistle stop tour without any education and frankly not a lot of wine! I certainly don’t feel any better prepared to visit the wine isles of the supermarket. In hindsight it was a sales pitch from beginning to end. The guide was very polite and friendly. The price of the wines was very high and we felt obliged to buy the twelve bottle minimum. When they arrived we discovered that all of the wines contained sulphites- the ‘expert’ had told us that these were such high quality wines that they had been made without sulphites and as a result would last in the fridge for weeks!!! The prices were all wrong and we had all been overcharged. There was also a very high delivery charge which we were not told about. The company did not offer a refund but instead offered a free bottle of wine to our friend, who thought she was buying all her friends a treat and instead now feels really bad because we were all obliged to buy two bottles of over priced wine. Having googled the wines we could have got them at a much better price online. So not only did we pay for the tasting but we were also overcharged for the wine. It would be far more fun to buy some good quality wine and drink it with friends. Which is what we will do next time and it will cost a fraction of the price. In summary: 1.always do a price check when buying wine especially if the salesman is in your home. 2. Common sense goes out of the window when you are sat drinking wine with friends.
