Myself and 5 neighbours had a very enjoyable evening tasting a wide range of wines. Phil from Lingfield explained clearly about the features and background of each wine and gave us advice on the method to use when tasting wines to appreciate their full flavour. We are all looking forward to receiving our delivery of wine. It will give us an excuse to get together for another evening to try the wines we have purchased.

On Thursdays night 21/3/19 Melanie Power from Pieroth wines out of the Stirling office was with us for a wine tasting. Melanie is very good with her clients puts them at ease within minutes of arriving, and not putting any pressure on us. Just making sure that we enjoy the tasting experience to the full giving all the info on the wines and recommended a couple that would suit our tastes. Overall we had a great night and Melanie did a wonderful job because we bought wine. Thanks Melanie Power and Pieroth

Not so much a wine tasting as a wine selling. Very disappointing given the high cost of the evening. The host was knowledgeable and friendly but it was all about the sell. Id recommend spending that money on a nice couple of bottles for your friends instead. Avoid!

We had an excellent evening with Al. He was very knowledgeable, and we had a very relaxing time drinking some delicious wines. The selection was excellent - 13 wines and a port - and we learned a lot about how to enjoy wine. There was an opportunity to buy the wines, but no hard sell at all. Highly recommended!

I really can not fault our wine rep Dougy from Aberdeen. We have been recieving wines from Pieroth for a few years now and we never feel disappointed by the quality of service received and even if we do have any queries Dougy will do everything he can to rectify the situation. 10/10 as always :)

We purchased a 'reduced price' voucher for a home wine tasting at a Love Wine Festival. Our daughter and fiancé travelled from London to Birmingham to take part in the experience. We are all fairly knowledgeable about wine, know what we like and what we don't like but are prepared to be educated. We were not asked in advance whether there were any wine styles that we definitely didn't like, so consequently the first two wines that we tried were German whites far too sweet for our taste. The 'consultant' brought ten wines as promised. All of the bottles were already well over half consumed; in our opinion, some of them tasted lifeless and flabby as if they had been open for several days. The white wines were at room temperature; we are aware that for tasting purposes white wine needs to be at a warmer temperature than most people would normally drink it, but these were at room temperature. I suspect that they had been carried around all day. The consultant's knowledge of the wines that we tasted was minimal - no serious advice on what we should be tasting in the wines. At the end of the session he took out his laptop and asked what we would like to order (minimum order a twelve bottle case). We asked for a list of the names of the wines that we had tried, tasting notes and a price list. He told us that none of these were available. When he verbally told us the prices of the wines we were flabbergasted - they ranged from £18 to £25 per bottle. None of the wines impressed us; we would not have paid half of these prices at a wine merchant or supermarket for wines of this quality. To add insult to injury, we were told that there was an additional £9.99 delivery charge. That would have meant that we were paying at least £240 for a case of wines that we didn't particularly like. Our consultant was perfectly pleasant and polite, but we felt that he was acting more as a high pressure salesman than as a wine expert. We did not order any wine on the day, nor when he telephoned a few days later. I e-mailed Pieroth to inform them of our disappointment at our experience. I received a short reply saying that someone would be in touch to discuss the matter; three weeks later I am still waiting.

Enjoyed it very much! My friend invited me and my husband for a wine tasting that was organised at her place. I've done wine tasting in actual vineyards before but the concept of doing it at your own home (or my friend's) was different! We checked the reviews and was admittedly put off by the hard sale that was mentioned once or twice online. I was taken back by surprise with how honest, informative and laid back the night was with Mark. We really enjoyed the evening from start to finish and he didn't pressure us into buying. It's unfortunate he can't do it in my area!

Well I can recommend the experience enough Sam from Bristol came for me and my family and friends and was a well of knowledge and managed to keep us laughing all night. The wines are incredible as a person who didn't like wines Sam knew exactly what I would like and has converted me! The port i bought is always a great treat at my dinners and is a favourite for all. Will be ordering again and again thanks to Sam again for an amazing experience!

We were given a wine-tasting experience for four people as a present. Our very pleasant elderly consultant arrived as planned, and we spent an enjoyable two hours hours being entertained with anecdotes from his years in the wine trade. However the wine-tasting itself was was a let down. Our wine expert didn't tell us a much about the wines, and not being fans of warm white wine meant that we didn't enjoy any of them. One of the wines was clearly corked, but our consultant insisted it was just 'earthy'. A couple of the reds were better, as was the sherry. We were going to order some wine, but our consultant said someone would be in touch to discuss orders. We then heard nothing at all from the company. We were expecting to learn something about wine and wine tasting, so we were left disappointed, and glad that we hadn't purchased the tasting event for ourselves. A very odd evening and I'm afraid Pieroth is not a company we'd recommend.

Quite shocked to have paid nearly £40 for a someone to come to my house to try and hard sell me wine instead of a "Wine Tasting" basically was a try before you buy! Salesman didn't have hardly any knowledge about the wine but read it off the bottle, told us about how many other sales he had previously and talked about other customers. There was a couple of nice wines we liked, but only the option to buy crates of it. Not worth the money!

I am furious. I was sold this wine tasting voucher at the Eat & Drink Festival last December and was NOT informed it would be a selling pitch in my house. I literally asked the people at the stand how it could be so cheap and if I would have to buy any wines, and they confirmed twice that the person who would visit me didn't carry any bottles for sale, so couldn't even do that - which is not actually true, since once the tasting is finished, we are pressured to spend hundreds of pounds without any heads up. Thankfully our Consultant was kind and not pushy once he realised we had no idea no one had told us how that goes, and completely understood we were caught by surprise. It was my boyfriend's birthday too, and what was supposed to be a nice experience at home, turned out making us feel awful, ruining the night. Wines were nice, but, perhaps with the exception of two, definitely not worth £20 a bottle. This is basically a door-to-door selling technique masked as an "experience" - how stupid you think people are? I was prepared to place an order on your website, but after the Consultant told me that wasn't even possible and the only way was through him (and ordering loads of bottles in one go), I decided I had enough. Annoyingly, I was encouraged to buy a gift voucher alongside mine to give to a friend - obviously I will never do that. I rather lose that £10 than putting someone I like through such an awkward situation. In fact, I will make sure my friends are aware of this and stay away from you guys. If this is what you need to do to sell wine, you should seriously rethink your business strategy. Shame on you.

Had a “wine tasting” today. Luckily I bought on groupon but if I had paid the full price quoted on groupon I would have been disgusted. Yes you try ten wines but it is just a couple of sips if that and you cannot have any more as they are saved for the tastings later in the day. The wines are nice enough but at £15.99 each plus VAT you would be better off getting a cheap one from the supermarket or Laithwaites etc. I would not say it’s a wine tasting experience more a try before you buy. We did not purchase anything and the whole thing felt very rushed it was over in less than an hour not the 90 minutes as advertised.

Relaxed and enjoyable evening trying several different wines I wouldn't usually go for. Lewis our rep was great, lots of knowledge! Great advice during phone call before the visit on where to sit (around a table rather than the sofa) and suggested food to accompany the wines, which really worked. We went into this knowing the wine was more than we'd usually pay for a bottle and the minimum purchase so didn't have any issues purchasing a few bottles. Booked for another night with Lewis in a few months, looking forward to trying some different wines again. Thanks for a great evening Lewis!

I bought a tasting gift for my parents for Xmas thinking it would be an unusual experience since they enjoy their wines. Aside from having repeatedly told the rep we are all very much red wine drinkers and were still given over half of the tasting to white and rose, it was essentially a sales event rather than just a wine tasting. The wines are nice but not worth the prices they ask for in our family's opinion and my dad felt he had to buy a case of 12 (their minimum) as the situation became rather awkward. In all fairness the rep was a nice guy and my parents said they enjoyed the evening overall, comparing it with a nice change to going out for a meal and also to try wines they wouldn't normally. However we all feel the wines are not worth the amount charged for them and although my dad realised at the beginning what it was all about, I can imagine others may not. In terms of a tasting experience it was absolutely not a technical wine-tasting (which I have done at other places) and was essentially a sampling to shortlist what to buy. I feel guilty that my dad felt he had to spend over £200 on wines which we have since compared to our usual supermarket wines and found no real quality difference, in particular with the claim that they can be kept open for several weeks with no deterioration in quality - which has proven to be an expensive vinegary mistake. If you go into it knowing what it is then no doubt you can have a pleasant evening trying out things before committing, however if thinking of it as a nice gift experience then I would advise against, owing to the underlying sales motives.

I attended a wine tasting evening at our friends Mhairi and John. There were 6 of us which is a nice social number. Louise Saunders was our Pieroth hostess. She was excellent and very knowledgable about the company and the wines we tasted. She was also great fun, entertaining and in fact, felt like part of the company we were in. The wines were nice and varied and she gave us recommendations of what occassions and food the wine would complement.

Had a really enjoyable evening last night. We tasted a whole range of wines which we do not normally opt for and we were given lots of information about the grape variety and how they are made. The rep was really friendly and made for a real experience. Booked for another in the summer time on the back of a great night with friends . Reccomend it for sure. Thanks
