The first documented evidence of viticulture in the Pieroth family was in 1675, and we haven't stopped producing wine since - in fact we still make wine from our estate in Burg Layen, Germany, where everything started for us. The name of Pieroth is synonymous with viticulture expertise, strong family traditions and an unsurpassed range of exclusive wines. Excellent customer service and expertise acquired over many years have made us the undisputed market leaders in direct wine sales all over the world. Why not come on a wine-derful journey with us from grape to glass.
Had a brilliant fun filled wine tasting with Iain Dubrey. He was not the least bit phased facing 5 ladies of a certain age. Iain was charming ,entertaining and very knowledgeable about the wines. Wide variety of excellent wines to try with no hard sell. I would thoroughly recommend him and this company.
I am a resident in the US but make frequent visits to the UK. On one such visit, I had the pleasure of experiencing a Pieroth wine tasting given by Kevin Cooper. It was a very relaxed and informative evening and he took great care to learn our particular tastes. Since then he has kept us informed of new wines and special offers that we might be interested in. It’s like having our own private wine buyer! My motto is “Life is too short for cheap wine!”
Our Hosts for the weekend had been given a wine tasting event as a birthday present which we were all looking forward to as we all have an interest in wines. Apart from the Pieroth representative arriving somewhat late, sadly from the moment he arrived it became very apparent that this event was purely and simply being undertaken in the attempt to sell wine. There were 16 wines presented, yet despite them all being of different characters, the presenter never suggested the wine glasses ought to be cleaned between each wine! Furthermore, throughout the presentation, it was stressed that none of the Pieroth wines contained any kind of chemicals, yet, later research revealed ALL Pieroth wines contain sulphites!! At the end of the presentation and after we had all recovered from hearing the quite extortionate prices being asked (plus VAT and the highest delivery costs I have ever heard of from a direct wine supplier), I commented to the presenter that we normally buy all our wines from Laithwaites to which, in immediate response, he stated that all of their wines contained chemicals and could not be compared with the Pieroth wines! As a retired sales professional of many years experience, I know only too well that the worst possible kind of sales technique is to rubbish the products of your competitors. Will we ever contemplate buying Pieroth wines.............. no NEVER
I am 18 and received a gift of a wine tasting from some friends, and invited some friends around to enjoy this. I was not expecting a sales pitch at the end of the evening. The salesman made it clear that he would make no commission from the evening if no wine was purchased. Disappointing that this is not made clearer when confirming the event or even paying for the gift.
We were given a Pieroth Wine Tasting voucher from my niece & her partner as a thank you gift & what a really fab evening we had with Daksha last night. She introduced my husband & I together with a couple of friends to some amazing new wines & we all had a fun night together. Despite having never met Daksha before she kept us all entertained throughout the evening. Her wealth of knowledge about the individual wines & their production was delivered in a vey interesting way, we played games rating & costing the individual bottles, enjoyed some superb wines together & were never once pressured by her to buy any of the products at the end of the session. It was a truly enjoyable evening & I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good glass of wine. We are now all eagerly awaiting our orders !! Thank you Daksha
No Show . The wine tasting evening has been book few month in advance for my son and his wife coming from abroad for Friday December 20th and we received confirmation by email and by phone. No one came. No one answered the phone or called us . We sent email to the company email as well. Very disappointing and upsetting, as my grown up children were looking forward to the event. The reply came yesterday with the suggestion to email my enquiry to the company. As I mentioned in my correspondence above, I already did this yesterday. And phoned. It is even more upsetting that such a reply is coming without even checking their mail box.
Booked a wine tasting evening after having paid the extra for a weekend booking. Was told that we would get confirmation in advance with details of our evening, which would have been nice as we had invited friends around to enjoy and share the experience. With a few days to go before our booking as I hadn't heard anything I contacted the head office and was told to call the local office on either of two numbers I was given. I really needed to know what time the tasting would start and a little more of what to expect. No one picked up on either of the numbers so I left a voicemail. Nothing. No contact whatsoever. So on the day I informed our friends that we would disappointingly have to cancel the planned evening. They were quite upset but I told them we would do something else instead. Then, on the evening of the booking as we were about to go out on an alternative evening with our friends at about 6:30pm I received a call from a representative informing me that he was on his way! I was of course very surprised that it was left that late. I politely informed the gentleman that although I accepted it wasn't his fault, as we had not received any information in respect of any details of timings etc. that we had been forced to make alternative plans. The representative apologised profusely and informed me that a manager would contact me the following Monday. Over a week has passed since then and I've still not had a call to explain. I guess I won't be using the additional voucher I purchased either as I wouldn't wish to gift this to a friend based on the experience or lack of it to date I wait in hope with baited breath and a dry pallette. UPDATE Responded as per instructions and still no communication back after 5 days.
What a fun evening! I purchased a wine tasting at the highland show and lovely Mary came last night! The girls all thoroughly enjoyed their night and the non wine drinker ended up buying 4 bottles! Great night and would definitely recommend!
We (Megan and Owen) were at the Ferguson tasting in Glasgow and had Rory Brisby as our rep. He did an amazing job and I really learnt a lot about wine and had a great time. He stayed with us for 4 hours so was excellent value and we left with a case of wines we really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend anyone keen to learn more about wine to do this. Thank you!
I had a Pieroth wine tasting on… I had a Pieroth wine tasting on Saturday 23rd November with Kevin Jewsbury, wow it was fantastic. We sampled some great wines and Christmas liquors. Kevin's knowledge of the wine was brilliant, he answered all of our questions and gave us a great insight into the Pieroth vineyards. My friends and I really enjoyed the night, we laughed so much. We will certainly be booking again soon. Thanks Kevin.
We had a great wine tasting last night with Lewis. The wines tasted were very interesting, individual and different to those usually bought in shops and Lewis's skills and knowledge really helped us to enjoy the wonderful aromas and flavours. Lewis was an excellent guide and teacher! He was extremely professional and knowledgeable, but really good company, engaging and friendly, so making the evening very enjoyable and relaxing for all. Something for Pieroth to consider - there were many wines offered that we would all like to purchase. Having to buy a case of 12 isn't so much of a problem, but it is a shame that you can only have two different wines in the case. As a party of four individuals, we all had slightly different tastes which couldn't be reduced down to just two bottles. It would be great if you could buy a wider selection of the wonderful wines tasted (perhaps two or three of your favourites).
Colin was a fantastic host for the evening! The wines were delicious and he has great knowledge on the wines and had such a wonderful night! Thank you Colin and pieroth!
We had a fun evening with Lewis, who was knowledgable about the wines and sampled a variety of different grapes and regions. The wines were good quality, and all very drinkable, the port being particularly good. However, we thought they were over priced, with a price premium for their exclusivity rather than stand out taste.
The wine is excellent, especially the Pieroth Blue, but we had salespeople ringing weekly asking us to place an order!Apparently we are on the border of 2 sales areas, so we had 2 salesmen ringing wanting a sale! We loved the wine but were sick of being harassed by them!
Colin (Newcastle) an exceptional man and great company
I had a voucher for a free wine tasting...I booked more than a month in advance because it was all booked and 2 days before they canceled the booking with a lame excuse and I couldn't book it for any other day...definitely unprofessional.
Not really sure what to expect, but really enjoyed the evening that was given to me as a birthday present. My guests and I enjoyed information from Lewis and all felt we learnt something about the wines. We all decided to purchase some , but no pressure to do so. I would say that prices given didn’t include VAT , which wasn’t mentioned ,so bumped the bill up! Would happily purchase a wine experience with them again . Now looking forward to receiving our purchases.
Attended a Pieroth wine tasting last night , with Lewis , who was the Pieroth agent. He was very friendly and professional, he knew so much and passed on lots of information on the wines we sampled. I loved the Murder of Crows red wine , really good quality wine for the money too. I can highly recommend Lewis if you are thinking of hosting a wine tasting of your own. Many thanks Lewis you made our night. Carol and Ian xxx
Diabolical customer service experience. Do not waste your money. After some difficulty getting in contact to make the initial booking and eventually receiving a return call, one of our party of 4 came down with flu so was not able to make the booking. We cancelled directly with the person due to come and visit us as we had tried to get in contact with head office several times without an answer. This suited him due to the severe weather that had been forecast and he had a long journey ahead of him. On attempting to rearrange, we were refused a weekend day as apparently it is company policy on cancellation. This is not mentioned on the voucher or in the terms and conditions. I was essentially treated like a criminal on the phone and bullied into either accepting their terms or giving up the voucher. It was vigorously and repeatedly explained to me, that all this was actually doing me a favour because due to the cancellation the voucher had now gone into expiry, despite the fact what was being offered as an alternative did not fit our particular situation at all. Was also refused a refund on the grounds the voucher had now expired too. I respect that the voucher may have expired and yes, we cancelled for legitimate reasons that could not be avoided, for which we were extremely apologetic. However, neither of those things invites the way that I was treated over the phone and if I heard that my sales employees were behaving like that, I would be deeply ashamed. I will not be pursuing further business with this company, despite holding several more valid vouchers, and I implore you to avoid them as well. IN RESPONSE TO YOUR INCORRECT REPLY: My original voucher was purchased on 27th May 2019 at a food festival at Blenheim Palace, I currently have no less than 6 gift vouchers in my hand, none of which I have redeemed and certainly not in the manner you are suggesting, and the date for the tasting was initially set for October 4th 2019, so your records are incorrect. This was all handled with paper forms, which I imagine is fairly error prone. It is common for calls to be missed, especially during work hours, you also missed several of ours. And as for hanging up on your sales agent, that is a complete lie, the call had come to an end, with both parties agreeing there was no point in continuing the conversation. I also think I would have been perfectly within my rights to hang up, given the way I was spoken to.
After reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive. I had no problem booking a tasting - my first date/time choice was accepted. Rory, our rep, arrived on time and provided us with a relaxing and entertaining night. We were not pushed to buy but because of the quality of the wines we all bought some. Yes, they are expensive but considered this a special treat and everything was delivered within 10 days.
