I wanted to Delete my account but they Just carried on Contacted me
An amazing app which slowly reveals your family tree. Highly recommend.
Bad service. Technical hitches such as not able to log in, not fit for professional purpose. Avoid unless you like graphics. Not well thought out, effort went into what it looks like NOT the functions and codeing.
To expensive
Finall found family on 1921 census as they had been overseas as an Army family. I opted to pay to see them on the census & selected my grandmothers name, expecting to see her famil. But NO, just her name and age which I already knew! The only thing I didn’t know was where they were in 1921and now I do! My mother was about 6 & it would have been nice to see the family. I contacted FMP & they said I would have to pay for each record which seems wrong as it is my direct family. It is nice though, that they are offering free look ups at certain times, although it will only be the basics. it’s a good service, shame everything is so expensive!
The auto suggestions are excellent at save hours of research, thank you! I tried adding my siblings, wife and children to my tree and couldn’t find a way of doing that and some suggestions I followed and clicked accept on seem to have disappeared meaning an hours work to get me back to where I was otherwise it would have been 5* rating
Just easy to do, to get going, to find your way around the site, and even if you haven't been in to the site for a while it's easy to bring up your 'tree' that you have compiled so far.
Lot of information that is free. Be nice if we could have a little bit more
From FTM I could not log-in to Ancestry. I emailed FTM help and got a reply from Alex which asked for further clarification. Within 24 hours I Alex had replied with a simple fix - all I had to do was log out of FTM, disable the two-step authentication on Ancestry, and restart FTM. Bingo! I was able to sign-in and sync. I can now apparently enable the two-step authentication but haven't tried that yet. I marked my experience down, not because of Alex, but because FTM didn't have this simple solution in Help
I can't trust the morons managing FindMyPast. I can't even log in. There is no customer support system in Australia. I want to cancel before my free trial is up, but I can't cancel because I can't log in. It's hopeless. I'd be better off with Ancestry. GMT is no good to me in Australia. You don't seem to have any customer service in Australia. We're in a different time zone. When the FMP login facility isn't working, the only way to contact FindMyPast is to call a UK telephone number (no thanks) or ask via their website and pray that someone will get back to you. Thank goodness I cancelled before the 7-day trial ended; otherwise, I could have been up for over $360. FindMyPast could have put a banner on the website and app explaining their technical issues.
App keeps crashing very slow only showed certain things
Using the find my past website has helped expand my family tree.
Loads and loads of fantastic information and I guess I would probably get more out of it if I read some of the guides but I guess like most people I just wanted to dive in! I can spend far too long dabbling and ending up down different rabbit holes but great fun. Personally I found the search not the most easy / helpful to use at times, I think perhaps because I had got used to freeBMD searches in part but I have got used to it more now and it is early days yet. Having a husband who has a Scottish mother and a half Irish father I have found I needed to use the Irish and Scottish sites too which I didn’t realise I would need to do so was a bit disappointed at first. One thing I have struggled with is that my great grandfather married his cousin and the tree maker thing really really doesn’t like that - I have had to delete people then add them again, edit relationships countless times to try and get the tree correct but even now although better one person is down twice rather than being able to connect her to 2 slightly different parts. All in all I have found using this site / resource so enjoyable , it was something I have put off doing for so long but so pleased I finally took out the subscription. Oh and the customer support was really wonderful when I had an issue accessing an offer for the subscription
Ridiculously expensive to subscribe. Had a email stating that it was free for the weekend but it wasn’t I couldn’t access nowt.
They helped me fill in gaps in my family history with dates, names, etc. Great to find out more of my family history.
I didn't want to pay £24 a month
They found a great deal of helpful information about key relatives. I would continue using the sub but am already paying via myheritage
Your company has charged me £199.55 without no valid reason to charge me.
Always lots of records, I have found a lot of family records , especially newspapers that relate to my ancestors. Good site!
was OK .............
