Easy to use and laid out well

The record sets are good, but the family tree function is very awkward to use and not user friendly. I think the whole package is overpriced, Ancestry.com offers a much better experience for the money.

Once you are in the site it is easy to navigate. Much easier to find the information you need.

A really great resource to find your ancestors. Often able to research for free.

The offer of a free weekend of newspaper access resulted in my finding the story behind my first known incarcerated ancestor. It explained why he and his wife and two children were not living together in the 1841 census and why his daughter reported him (erroneously) as deceased when she married. Many questions answered with this lucky find.

Find My Past shows relevant access to Newspaper articles and birth, Marriage, and Death records, which mostly apply to my ancestors. These can be either accepted or rejected. I have made quick progress adding to my tree.

Easy to use but can be frustrating sometimes as search options are limited in certain categories

I have the free membership at present which has provided me with some information to search for family using details that I know. This has given me insight into the volume and type of records available on Find My Past - there are so many. From census, birth and marrisge records to newspaper articles. I could see the actual original records as an image too!. Recently, I have taken advantage of the free access offer to news articles and the 1939 Register. Just having access to these additional records has been wonderful. I have managed to trace back to my great great great great grand parents in a day! I have learned so much, these details were long forgotten and sadly no longer possible to be asked. Yet thanks to the brilliant hints and details given by FMP this became possible. Tracing my tree even only using free access and offers, has been fun, enlightening even emotional at times and Im glad I have made good progress. One search opens up so much more to review....its like going dowm a rabbit hole! In summary, a fabulous and educational tool for anyone to be able to use easily. The user interface is easy to navigate and update details. The imagery is high quality and the tree graphic provides an at a glance view and is pretty. The emails sent informing me of new matches and hints are a pleasant surprise and a great feature. However, I will say to get everything needed for a family tree and to experience the full capability of FMP, a subscription is required.

Thank you very much for the reply to my previous review, and I appreciate the explanation, just wish I had received this when I emailed. To confirm, the offer as you stated, was available in my account, and I have now taken out the discounted 12 month subscription, at the full 30% OFF. Well Done FMP for a USEFUL reply.

I have managed to trace my family back to the 1740s and I think I’m going to be able to trace it further back with this app for free. Also I have found out a lot more about my great grandmas family which had been really interesting

Easy to navigate and create. Loads of info to be found even without a membership.

Will not subscribe because of cost and I found that information on my family was inaccurate - names completely wrong and not what’s on record - like someone’s been typing too fast and put in what they think it should be not what it actually is. And first I thought I’d discovered someone new! Multiple daily emails telling me to check out leads or they have BRAND NEW INFORMATION that I can’t access without paying, which just puts me off even further.

It seems a difficult site to navigate.

Although I have been with Find My Past for many years I never actually put my tree up as I already had the tree uploaded onto Ancestry. I mostly used Find My Past to corroborate the records. BUT I am finding that I get more accurate records from this site so have recently uploaded my tree to see if I can produce even better results. I also like the fact that I can browse the newspapers without having to have an additional subscription.

When you are in the person profile you can’t get all their records without filling in the search screen and filtering it down. You also have to remember their dob, where they were born and so I have two screens open - the tree and the search screens.
