The free day for access to the 1921 census and newspapers was wonderful. It gave me a chance to access this essential resource for free and to check and rule out possibilities without incurring a hefty cost. Finding relevant ancestors in the newspapers is difficult where the name is common so the chance to review many articles with the chance to read them and then rule out the wrong person is great. The Australian dollar is worth half the English pound so it was a great opportunity to have access to this resource free of charge.

The recent sub changes seem ill thought out. To maintain my full access I had to pay a price increase. I know that my sub now includes the 1921 census, but I had no choice but to pay up. It seems rather a devious way to implement a price increase without losing customers rather than to just include the 1921 in the full slightly increased subscription rate. FMP has some wonderful people working for it but its increasing impersonal corporisation and slick way of 'doing business' is reducing its appeal.

Found details of an inquest from 1909 in a British newspaper!

The free offer was difficult to access, it kept returning to the subscription page

Wasn't as easy to use as advertised and I found that some of the information held on their records was inaccurate and nothing I looked up had any photos or documents.

Writing a review is difficult without comparing it with other genealogy websites. First and foremost must come cost. Find my Past is not the cheapest site and given that the (three) main ones are largely similar in content and layout, this only emphasises the significance of the cost difference. From my limited experience of Find My Past, I would mention that I like that it is uncluttered, well set out and attractive and it invites the user to become involved. I don't like details of monthly subscription payment, only to see that payment will be taken a year, or quarter, or whatever in full at the beginning. Maybe I'm not seeing something here. I do like that it is mostly confined to UK and Irish details, but that should also be a reason for a more competitive pricing. Without using it more, I feel unable to write more. Perhaps I might look at a subscription when my current Ancestry membership expires. Thank you.

Fantastic site, so much information available. Great to see my family history unfold and expand quite easily. Site is intuitive and gives you hints to confirm information, and find missing links. Fantastic to be able to see ancestors names on historic records. Brings history alive, and at times quite moving. Highly recommend!!!!

I havnt been on Find my past for a while but noticed it was a free weekend so thought I would look. I am enjoying the new look and think maybe will buy for Christmas for myself. I’ve been into family history for long while and have found something I couldn’t find before so have been really pleased . Thank you for the free week end for Remembrance Sunday x

Nothing about Scotland as that is my main area.

Was so clunky to use. Hints were too wide and I had little or no enjoyment using it.

Difficulty in reading information from census. Doesn't show whole family.

Great of them to allow free access to all their records including the 1921 census this weekend. I was able to add quite a lot to my family tree during this time.
