Findmypast is a homegrown family history company that helps people discover their origins. It started in the UK but now has millions of customers around the world, who use its family records to trace ancestors, build family trees and contact distant relatives.
It's interesting to find out information about your ancestors and findmypast makes this easy BUT the high cost of research puts me off . I only use it when free
Easy site to use with plenty of useful records.
I love it but it is now sadly too expensive for me to use when I only have time to dip in and out.
I accessed the site to see the 1921 census. The first with my father included. I didn't spend long trying to get to know how to use it but found many of the search criteria a bit too precise to be useful.
Good site - I appreciated the free trial and enjoyed the easy to use features. I managed to find my way back through the layers very quickly. Only drawback is I am not in a position to pay for a full subscription to further my search!
Very easy to trace my family tree using this software, I've found out lots of interesting facts. My only slight grumble is the cost but other than that perfect.

Well. It’s a great app but the search is difficult and it takes a minute to load my family tree overall it’s a good app
Easy to use but sometimes difficult to select other categories. I expected to see such documents as birth, marriage certificates but this did not happen.
I actually found some relatives and could add them to my tree, but it's expensive otherwise.
Very short trial then payment kicks in and its not cheap. It's very basic and you can find a few things but it's very basic and very expensive for what it is I had a horrible feeling when it said I'd been charged the other day as I didn't want to continue and pay for what was a pretty poor website. I feel violated. 25 quid just taken for something I used for half an hour and had no intention of continuing to use I'll be cancelling so it doesn't charge me again. I didnt want it to charge me in the first place as I'd seen enough after half an hour.

I’d already started research back in 2020 and took advantage of the free searches for Remembrance Sunday. Unfortunately, many users had the same idea so the site kept crashing. I did have a subscription for worldwide searches (in 2018) but could not find info that I knew existed - my grandparents births in Ireland, prisoner of war info, even my husband’s family in Italy. I cancelled the subscription back then and to be honest, I would not subscribe as 8 years later I still could not find some quite basic info, such as my grandparents marriage registration etc. I think as a tool to research from home it has potential, but it’s an expensive option when a lot of the info is just not available.
App hard to navigate , no information what so ever !! Total disappointment
The website is difficult to navigate, especially if you want to go back to what you were looking at before.. The individual profiles are not set out very clearly. It seems as if not all the 1921 Census entries have been uploadd yet, particularly for Wales. I have not been able to find some Newspaper articles that I have found elswhere.
