Losing someone is very hard for anyone to deal with but losing our son broke us. Austin’s were amazing throughout the whole experience from bringing our son home from the hospital to the undertakers swiftly with no fuss. They were amazing including providing us with flexible timings to visit him before his cremation to arrangements of the flowers, choosing the coffin, cars, staff and eulogy. We got to know the staff extremely well and they gave our son the best most respectful send off my wife and I could have ever wished for.

We found the whole experience of booking a funeral and organising all the things that need to happen very straightforward and easy with Austin’s. There was no pushy sales and everything that we knew that our relative had wished for his funeral was honoured by Austin’s.

I can't thank Austin's enough for the sensitive and caring service we received in the weeks before my brother's funeral as well as on the day itself. Nothing was too much trouble, all our requests were listened to and acted upon with great care and detail.

Made a sad situation bearable, professional and helpful at all times

Such a professional service from start to finish, Austin's really did look after all of us so well. The funeral organisation and on the day support was amazing with such attention to detail. I would definitely use them again. Lee was there on the day of the funeral and he was just fantastic, and gave my loved one such a respectful send off. Thank you! We had a cremation at Harwood park and I didn't like how the ashes were received as they don't come in an urn. I had just assumed they would come in an urn. I now understand that an urn isn't part of the service and would rather have had a conversation about this in advance so I could have provided my own urn for the team there to put the ashes in. They offered to put the ashes in an urn that I provided or to order one for me, but I was already there to collect and didn't want to have to go back another time as it was already painful enough. More conversation is needed on that bit but otherwise I cannot fault them.

We felt looked after, right from the start until after mum's funeral. All staff treated our mum and our family with dignity and respect. Everything was explained to us patiently,we were informed at all points and whenever we needed to make a decision we were given time, never feeling rushed. Sharon at the Hertford office was absolutely amazing, so knowledgeable and kind. Gary and John were both professional and kind too. Our heartfelt thanks to all at Austin's who we did not meet but will have assisted in the care of our mum.

The patience from all staff was amazing on such a difficult emotional day

From my first meeting with Jane in the Welwyn branch she was so helpful & called me several time to check I was ok, as it can be so hard when you loose a parent who was 92 to make the right choices when they haven't left any notes to what they would like. I would also like to thank Gary Tayler who called me the night before to check all the details and I was happy with everything. He even said if I wasn't sure about anything that was going to happen on the day or have questions I could call him at any time even if it was 10pm at night!! Gary was so understanding. He guided me through everything on the day at my pace, again always making sure I was ok. The other gentlemen who helped Gary on the day were also helpful & understanding. I couldn't fault anything that Austin's have done. The day was just perfect & even the sun was out all day!

All staff were helpful, caring and kind, everything was done professionally and staff went out of their way to ensure every detail and request were taken care of. Thank you!
