I read the reviews on Google and chose Alexander's. Every individual I've interacted with has been pleasant and polite - as you'd expect from a family company. Unfortunately, the service, in particular the communication, has been pretty dismal. At every stage, from the initial removal through to the final re-delivery, I've had to chase them. They didn't resolve parking issues for the re-delivery and ended up overbilling me! Big shame, as I'd love to support more independent/family businesses, but I wouldn't use them again

A faultless service from start to finish. It made the whole move easy as they know what they are doing. Very pleasant staff and very professional.

Very happy we chose Alexander's. Professional, quick, helpful and our move went like clockwork. We'd definitely use them again.

I have used Alexanders for a number of moves and storage for my boss over the last 18 months. The moves have all been logistically very difficult and Alexanders have always risen to the challenge. Every team we've used has been polite and incredibly hard working and very tolerate of the changes in schedule and locating items of furniture from storage and delivering at short notice. I have recommended Alexanders numerous times and I will continue to do so.

I had a terrible experience with Alexanders and would never recommend this removals company to anyone. The move over two days from our six-bedroom house in North London was chaotic and badly organised - the team of workers were arguing with each other, they smashed a marble-top coffee table, they chipped my antique chest of drawers, and they hadn't finished packing up our house before the new house owners arrived so there was a delay in the whole chain. But most horrific of all was that all my jewellery and treasured possessions were packed in a single bag and during the move this bag disappeared and has never been recovered.

We moved a 2 bed apartment with all our contents and furniture. I did not use the packing service and moved breakables and the kitchen items myself. We had a 4 man move team. They were the best! Very quick, friendly, courteous and careful with our items. They did everything cheerfully and with smiles on their faces. We moved into a freshly decorated apartment and they didn't leave one ding or mark on the wall. And they were so quick with reassembling the furniture. I think the quote could be a little more thorough with the breakdown of what everything costs. The team showed up on the day with 2 trucks, which was probably right for the amount of items we had, but they didn't use them at all since we were moving only 2 buildings over. The move team preferred to move by trolley. Since we had an unusual move it would have been nice if the surveyor talked to a move team first. Maybe the policy is that one truck comes for every two guys, but that wasn't made clear. Also I used the crate rental service, and the surveyor overestimated how many crates we needed by 15. But if we move again, I am absolutely hiring Alexanders and will be more thorough when I go over the quote beforehand. This was the smoothest move experience I've had. And this is my fourth and biggest move in 10 years.

Well organised beforehand, with a very professional team on the day who asked about every detail & made our move painless. No reservation in recommending Alexanders - we will be using them again for our next move.

The office staff have been great at getting everything ready, managing the councils, handling the change in dates and volumes, etc. But i must say i was especially very impressed with the team they sent me on the day. Everyone was very respectful towards my family and my possessions, they genuinely cared about everything being protected and delivered safely. I thought as well the teamleader was very knowledgeable -access was difficult for the bigger pieces of furniture, both out and in-, creative, trusted by his men, and had excellent manners. Furthermore, I was repeatedly asked if i was satisfied with all the little things that make a difference -destination room of various boxes and objects, help with getting rid of packaging, protection of carpets and woodfloors, unscrewing/screeing of fixtures,etc-, which i thought was very professional and demonstrated a commitment to deliver an excellent service rather than be done with the job as quickly as possible. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a mover without hesitation.

Third time of using and still 10/10 , intelligent helpful team that worked so hard from the word go, I couldn't recommend them more highly, even their storage was reasonable, the only reservation was that they were busy on my first date requested so I moved my move to make sure that I could use them again after my appalling experience with another large moving firm some years ago, BOOK THEM NOW BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES!

Alexanders recently moved us across London at really short notice. We have A LOT of stuff including a sizeable collection of antique ceramics, some of it rare and very valuable, but it mostly has huge sentimental value. So we were really quite worried about the whole thing. We needn't have been! From the moment we first contacted them they were super helpful and efficient. They did really thorough surveys before the move and let us know what was going to happen and when. During the move you normally expect some mishaps but these guys were really polite and friendly even though we live on the 3rd floor with no lift! Most importantly, everything was intact and in the right place when we moved into the new place. On price, of the 4 companies we asked they were not the cheapest and also not the most expensive. In our view they are worth every penny... If we move again we will be going straight back to them.

I chose Alexanders based on the fact that they were BAR approved and had good feedback from previous customers. My experience was in total contrast to the feedback I received. The team arrived over an hour and a half late. They then parked in a disabled parking space and were given a parking ticket. The team were exceptionally slow in packing up my belongings (1 bedroomed apartment) and by the middle of the afternoon had still not started packing the van. I called the customer service centre to express my concern. The packing team then explained that they did not have the right equipment to load the van and that the van was too small for all my belongings and furniture. (Even though a site survey had been carried out prior to the removal). At 5pm they started to load the van. Whilst loading the van they dropped a bookcase breaking it. At 6pm I went for dinner. I called the customer service centre again to express my concern about the length of time being taken. Finally, at approximately 7.30pm they started to unload my furniture and belongings in my new apartment (a five minute drive from my previous home). They finished unpacking by approximately 9.00pm. By this time I was so tired and frustrated by the experience I told them to leave and that I would take care of unpacking boxes etc myself. On unpacking the boxes I discovered they had broken an ornament of significant sentimental importance and which had been pointed out at the beginning of the move as important. I also discovered that a crystal wine decanter had been packed unwrapped with tinned goods and had been chipped. The process of claiming insurance was protracted, unpleasant and in the end left me out of pocket. Read the small print: your valued belongings will not be replaced new for old, but "repaired" (even though a repair will damage the value and it seems unconscionable that you entrusted them with a pristine piece of furniture that is returned to you in poorer condition). I thought I was paying for a premium service to reduce the stress of what is one of life's most stressful experiences. Choosing Alexanders only made the process more stressful; I would have been better off with a man and a van.

The whole team from Alexander's was professional at every step of the way, from the quote to the actual packing and moving. The team of movers was friendly, courteous and very helpful and we're very happy with our experience.

I'd highly recommend this company if you're moving home. They arrived on time and immediately took control of the move. The team (led by Michal) were efficient and experienced. Nothing was too much trouble and they were prepared to get stuck in. They were professional and mindful of our belongings and now that we've unpacked, nothing at all was broken. I was expecting at least something to be broken! Moving our sofa was the trickiest part of the move but they did this with confidence (and a lot of strength!). While the removal guys were great, I also had a good experience with the office taking our booking. All in all, a great team. I've already recommended them to 2 other people looking to move this year and I'll recommend them again and again.

Originally we signed up to move with a different company who were cheaper - when they failed to deliver as promised we went to Alexanders who were great about taking over with only a fortnight to go. The two guys who came to pack were incredibly efficient and did a great job, nothing was damaged or broken after the move and it was down to their careful packing. There were three guys on the day of the move and they worked tirelessly to move our second floor two bed flat, including our digital piano which remains completely unscratched - thanks to them! Highly recommend Alexanders: their pre-move assistance, the move, and post-assistance was brilliant - can't fault them at all.

Alexander's provied us with a packing and removal service. The office staff were friendly and helpful on the phone. The removal staff were great and moved a 4 bed house with out any breakages or damage. I would recommend Alexanders.

I cannot fault Alexanders in any way. They responded quickly to my initial enquiry and visited my property and provided a quote within 24 hours. The movers were punctual, efficient, diligent and worked incredibly hard. Problems, such as lack of available parking, were dealt with without fuss and the team went out of their way to ensure the move was stress free. Alexanders was not the cheapest quote we received (nor the most expensive) but in my opinion were the best value, as the quote included more movers/ packers then the cheaper alternatives. I don't think we would completed the move on time without the additional manpower they quoted.
