Required help over the phone choosing having thought about one for 6 months ... got fantastic honest advice. Every question answered! Ebike arrived quickly... wish I had Bought it long ago, it far exceeded my expectations.
When it comes to electric bikes 50 cycles do know what they are talking about. Having a shop that deals just in electric bikes gave me more confidence especially at the moment when traditional bike shops despite selling e bikes have some catching up to do. Very helpful mechanic
The bike was delivered undamaged and worked from the box. After 2550 miles the spokes are still tensioned correctly. The chain failed after only 1000 miles. All else works well.
Friendly and helpful until it comes to the second time that our electric motor has failed in less than 1000 miles. No sympathy or explanation, just "you will need to bring it to Loughborough and if a second new motor is required you will have to pay for it"
I highly recommend 50 Cycles - Shoreham, West Sussex, and Charles Martin, the manager. Having purchased a Kalkhoff Integrale S10 XT in May 2017 I have been enjoying everyday the fantastic ride the cycle offers and the knowledge Charles offered me at the time and on an ongoing basis. Having up-graded from a Trek Valencia, which I still own, I have been amazed at the quality of the Kalkoff pedlec. I must admit it took a while to discover all the features available and utilise these on my daily commute. With a cycle of such value I arranged full comprehensive insurance which at £45 a year I feel is acceptable. I have only changed one part of the bike, upgrading to a Thudbuster seat post which on discussion with Charles suited my use of the bike.
When replacing rear wheel, dont overtighten nuts and strip thread as i found difficulty replacing them. From local bike shops.
Excellent service and advice when I purchased my Kahlkoff Endeavour. I’ve had 4 trouble free riding and when it was serviced the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very happy customer, would highly recommend.😊
Over a period of nearly ten years now we have bought four Kalkhoff electric bikes, they have transformed our retirement years. Living in South Shropshire that is very hilly and visiting Mid Wales also hilly we have managed to retrace some of the lanes and tracks used over a lifetime of cycling, The bikes, the service and advise have been invaluable this means that now we are looking for help in choosing lighter bikes and a car rack we will indeed be phoning 50 cycles.
I got treated very well when I purchased two electric cycles at the Cycle Show in Birmingham. The delivery was as promised and the bikes are great. Everything went as planned. I would certainly recommend 50 Cycles to anyone in the market for an electric bike.
Always 50 cycles can help. I've called up with urgent problem and they have usually been able to slot me in quick and offer a fair service or repair. Their love of e-bikes is always clear to see
Poor communication when bike had to go in twice in 3 months for repair. Both times lost bike for 3 weeks and had to follow up with phone calls to find out when I could get it back. Cost of batteries prohibitive unless you can source them from Germany direct. Make sure you live close a shop of theirs or service point.
All the staff at 50cycles I spoke to were very knowledgeable and helpful. I was at the Loughborough showroom for several hours and had many test rides before deciding on the right bike for me. There was no pressure and the staff were really trying to make sure I got the bike that suited me best. The bike I ordered was a 2018 model, not yet in stock, so I look forward to getting it soon.
Problem with cycle rear brake became apparent within a few days of purchase. 50cycles were adamant that it was caused by damage during delivery and that I could sort it myself. Instead I had to employ an independent mechanic who recalibrated a brake pad piston. I advised 50cycles of this in an email and received a phone call from the manager of the nearest outlet who merely reiterated that it was delivery damage. I posted a review on 50cycles web site detailing the foregoing and it was not published.
concept is good, and perhaps technology has moved on since I bought mine, but now that I have to replace the battery, at £600.00 it's a bit too rich for me as I can get a front wheel conversion to a powered front wheel for £500.00. Sorry but the whole market is too expensive.
I bought a bike at considerable expense about 10 years ago. It was supposed to have an integrated dynamo. It never worked, and they weren't interested in sorting out the problem. The bike was a considerable investment, but they have now changed the battery technology - making my bike obsolete. The best place for it is the dump.
YES , NO RESERVATIONS WITH AND 50 CYCLES . WHAT PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH MY E - BIKE WHEN UNDER WARRANTY WERE SORTED OUT TO MY SATISFACTION . THE SERVICE I RECEIVED WAS GOOD . THANK YOU, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND YOUR COMPANY. PAUL REAL
Had my Pro Connect 10 17 months now. I had done over 700 miles on mixed terrain, Bridle Paths and mostly road. Then I broke my leg in an unrelated trip up onto concrete. Back on my bike with replacement hip after 3 months so I lost the best of this year. However the bike helps me sail up the hills with no trouble and is a major part of my reason for a fast recovery. When I get my fitness pre accident fitness back I shall only be using the Low setting! Reliable and solid bike.
Some years ago I purchased my Kalkoff bike. I had no knowledge of electric bikes and talked with 50cycles who gave me every help as I have arthritic knees and they advised me on size of bike etc. They told me that previous customers with the same problems had exercised most satisfactorily with these bikes and I can confirm that I have had no problems. They also have extremely helpful videos on You Tube on bike maintenance.Good old fashioned Service
sales service is good, after sales needs improvement
