My partner and I purchased two kalkhoff Tasman i8 bicycles about six weeks ago . We had tried quite a few different bikes at various hire centres , and decided to visit 50cycles to see what they had to offer. We tried a couple that had not previously been on our radar , but we're both most impressed by the Tasman. Now , nearly 200 miles later we are very pleased with our purchase. The first few rides out were a journey of discovery , getting used to the many different settings available on the control panel. After that , wow , these are really good bikes. The frames are solid and well engineered. The rear carrier is excellent. The lights are excellent. Great tyres , kickstand , in fact we cannot fault them . The range , even when set on all the highest options is easily over 60 miles. The assist levels are intuitive and make some stupidly steep inclines just seem like fun. We take them on the camper up to Wales and just go exploring , without worrying about whether or not we can make that clime. We are both getting fitter and going further. The motor noise is generally non existent , and seat and handlebar adjustment are simple and quick. Overall , the kalkhoff Tasman is a high quality, built to last bike , at an excellent price , that really delivers.
The customer service is excellent.
Plus points - generous with time trialling the bike. Negatives - poor technical grasp of the sales lady, bad advice regarding frame size.

I bought my bike after trying out several at the shop in London. I felt that the salesperson really listened to what I wanted in a bike, he spent about an hour with me, and I am so pleased with the bike I ended up with.
A great place to shop
Good service in terms of simplicity of ordering, advice and final delivery. Even when the surprise birthday present for my wife caused confusion when they rang to confirm delivery and she assumed it was a mistake things were rectified smoothly. Thanks. Since delivery the cycle has rejuvenated our outings on two wheels. We used to average about eight miles an hour, now we manage twelve. We have had no problems with the cycle, it still gives excellent service.
My wife and I (Both into our70s) bought kalkhoff bikes earlier this year and have been thrilled and delighted with them --- its opened up all the beautiful Malvern hills to us, --- we always come back so exhilarated , with huge grins -- even after 4 months! And so far no problems. Our experience purchasing them at Bristol was extremely pleasant with no pressure but plenty of information , guidance and advice and we left with new bikes feeling that we had indeed got good bargains for our outlay. Follow up calls from staff at loughborough were evidence of a concern to provide excellent after sales service -- all in all a happy experience.
Excellent service and after sales support
Would have been 5 stars had the front forks been tightened up prior to delivery, other wise a great service and great bike.
50 cycles is very good and their electric bikes are the best. their sales team are very helpful and I always have a smile on my face when dealing with this company. so if you are going to buy an electric bike from 50 cycles ,than you will have many years of enjoyment with their bikes .
I've given 5 stars because despite lots and lots and lots of problems with a Focus ebike I bought new from 50 Cycles we were able to agree on how to sort this out and I still get attentive service from my 50C franchise in Shoreham, East Sussex on the present Scott MTB
Dealt with over a period of 6 years (and 3 bikes) and found to be very easy company to deal with. Only 1 problem with a bike after 2 years of use and that was solved quickly and efficiently
This was 3 years ago but I remember everything went more or less to plan and the bike is still going well!
Great service Bike was delivered as promised on time ,The Kalkoff e bike has brought the enjoyment back in cycling ,having done lots of miles since i bought the bike can only say its been very reliable and i doubt i would have enjoyed the experience as much without an e bike .
Only problem wsa trying to find the new showroom in Loughborough!
Helpful people and excellent bikes. We bought 2 new Kalkhoff Pro Connect S electric bikes in 2010, and they are still going strong, in good condition, AND we are still using the original Panasonic li-ion batteries, which seem to be as good as new, despite regular use.

Very helpful and accommodating. I have regular services at loughborough an always one the same day whilst I wait. Needed a new motor and whilst there was a delay in the part arriving the bike was returned to me by carrier. Runs like a dream (Agattu)
