Purchase fine as far as I remember from 6 years back. Very little trouble with the much used bike. Much easier now there's a Bristol branch for dealing with minor niggles

I bought a new kalkhoff bike for my husband in Dec 2014. Within 6 months it was not working properly the motor felt very sluggish and we visited 50 cycles where it was fixed, and changes were made, but within a year the gears had broken. We were in Germany at the time and they had to change the automatic gearing for a manual one saying that the nuvinci was not so reliable, this cost £ 400. On our return to U.K it was serviced by 50 cycles and we set off to Europe again where the bike motor ceased to pull even on the flat, we contacted 50 cycles who said it was probably a software problem. Again we were in Germany and took the bike to a kalkhoff specialist who said the software could not be done as it was out of date and also the impulse 1 motor was found to be faulty, problem that they said was standard with impulse 1 and that kalkhoff had admitted there was a problem with the impulse 1 motor and as recompense would offer kalkhoff dealers a special price of 100 euros for a replacement impulse 2 motor. We found this rather surprising as my own kalkhoff Tasman had been fitted with a replacement impulse 2 motor after the impulse 1 had broken for a cost of £600 at 50 cycles. In complete frustration we purchased a new KTM electric bike for my husband and agreed that we will not purchase from 50cycles again feeling very disappointed with the unreliability of your product and the extensive costs we have incurred.

Fantastic service - The shop manager could not have been more helpful, a test ride confirmed my bike choice, and since then every ride has been a joyful experience.

Bought my first e bike from 50 cycles and the service and bike was superb. Unfortunately the bike was not really suited for my type of use, bridle path , slightly rough ground , despite assurances from 50 cycles. I also needed to order a bike stand from them and queried the time taken to complete my order, when other online companies deliver the next day but I never received a response. Met them at the bike show in Birmingham and they were lovely!

I bought a Kalkhoff Agattu 7G electric bike18 months ago. I had read about potential issues with the motor, but was reassured by staff and the 2 year warranty. However I have had two new motors, first issue was the freewheel in the motor slipping, the second a loud clunking noise. The replacements were both free of charge and each new motor has come with a new 2 year warranty. It has not filled me with confidence, however I am very pleased with the bike, very quiet and comfortable, sturdy, good power and long lasting battery charge. The staff have always been very pleasant. There is quite a turnover in staff and this has caused confusion in record keeping, which has now been resolved.

First started looking at electric cycles in Spain 2014 all sorts of twist and go etc, got rides on one or two, then my wife got a ride on a next door campers Kalkhoff aggutta electric cycle, and you have seen the T shirts, I want that one!, so be it, on our way home to Lancashire called in at Loughborough showroom in our motorhome very nice salesman showed us different cycles and let us try them. Sold bought two, been brilliant, until just recently a problem with gear change on my wife’s bike whilst in Spain, e mail to 50/cycles who promptly emailed back with how to re set it, worked perfectly, what else could you ask for, we recommend them to anyone. Thanks 50Cycles excellent service

We spent some time trying to find the right 2 cycles for me and my wife. Having been told that there was stock we found when placing the order this was not correct. We went through the choices again - twice! They didn't know what they had available. These were expensive and exclusive bikes, so we expected that they would know what stock they had? We managed finally to find something we were pleased with. We were told that they would be delivered in 3 days, which was fine, and we looked forward to getting them. The problems then started! Their choice of carrier TNT can only be described as dreadful. We live in a gated cul-de-sac and they wouldn't not come to our door to say they were trying to enter so I could open the gates, they simply left!!. It took three attempts, with me having to take time off work to wait in and continually chase both 50 Cycles and TNT. I realise that it was the idiots who work for TNT, but 50 Cycles just simply washed their hands of the problem and kept stating that I would have to wait for the delivery. It took almost two weeks to get our cycles, bearing in mind we live only 10 miles from their shop. I could have rode our bikes quicker to our house. If you order a bike from them pick it up yourself, otherwise you may never get it.

When there was trouble with the motor it was changed without quibble. The 2 year warranty started again from that date. The bike has been used a great deal in the Peak District and for two months in France including the high mountains. Though rather expensive it has given me a great deal of pleasure and allowed me to build up fitness in an enjoyable way.

I am now on my third electric bike. But, my first from 50 cycles. My first bike was Smarta from Camden and my second was a charger from Winchester. The service from both these locations was good. 50 Cycles were great. No pressure to buy what they had in stock, a test ride without leaving half my body parts as a deposit and sound advice on the best bike to suit my cycling and massive 5' 3" frame! More than content and will buy my next bike form them.
