Wealthsimple has been a nightmare to work with. I have been trying to transfer a RRSP for 5.5 months and they refuse to email or phone call my bank to sort out why it is not being transferred. I email every week and every week they say "we are hoping this gets transferred soon" and then nothing happens despite it being almost half a year! I am even emailing with the manager, Simon, and he simply says they keep hoping the transfer will be completed one day like it's some mythical event that may take place. I regret ever moving my money over to them!

I didn't think it was possible for customer service to be worse than the CS at UberEats, but the customer service at Wealth Simple (a financial institution, mind you) is an abosolute JOKE. The majority of the reps they have staffed there are completely incompetent. It will take an agent almost 15mins to figure out how to fwd your call to the the next dept. Each time I called in, I was told one thing, only to learn that no action had ever followed through. The agents will often waste your time on the phone and assure you that they will take care of the issue and do xyz about it, only for you to get an email the next day informing you of the opposite (bc nothing was done). They often don't read the notes in full or communicate with each other clearly. When I called in today to follow up on the matter, I get a rude and unprofessional agent (NATE), who starts raising his voice and talking over me (aggressively), cuts me off when I'm speaking (repeatedly), and thinks its appropriate to give me attitude when he's the one sitting in a customer-facing role. The funny part is, after all his attitude it turns out he never executed what he claimed he would do bc I had to call back and get another agent who verified all sorts of issues that needed to be sorted from scratch. @WealthSimple, you need to conduct an internal audit of the dummies you have in these roles bc several are incapable of doing their jobs competently and this is coming at the expense of customers' savings and accounts. It's frustrating and concerning

I was a happy wealthsimple customer for around 8 months when they emailed one day and said they suspected suspicious activity and locked the account for safety. then one minute later they sent an email to say they were not going to continue doing business with me and locked me out of my accounts permanently. i called to enquire what had happened and no one gave any explanation. They cited their user agreements which were lengthy and vague. I believe their AI system made a mistake and i've complained to the OBSI and hopefully will have a resolution soon. I have used other online institutions in the past with great results, but i dont think i'll be staying at wealthsimple even if this gets resolved.

I read an article written by Wealth Simple regarding an costs for athletes with sights on the Olympics for future years that with obvious exaggerations in it. If they can't be honest in an article like this how trustworthy can the be. I will avoid them now specifically because of this article

I had a very bad experience and they don't have good customer service. No calls, no communication, just spam emails. It was worse when I opened a LIRA account; Avi was not helpful at all, causing lots of headaches due to his lack of experience and customer service.

This is a scam investment. I got a radio silence from the account manager after I questioned how my account of over $100,000 was wiped out to zero balance; andrew parsons' securities pulled in and had all that was wiped out from my account, returned. It is important to conduct proper due diligence before investing a substantial amount on any platform.

The worst institution I ever put my money in. I have a cash account there was a fraudulent transaction on my account they claim they doing a investigation after 90days I was told the money is lost and they can't do nothing about it.i ask for months to speak to a supervisor nobody call me. Government needs to investigate this company absolutely worst. You tell your customer after 90days your money is lost and case close

Customer service is terrible. Long waits to speak to anybody and when you leave your number they don't call back as promised. As for email, they don't seem to read inquiries carefully. I got 3 texts last weekend saying someone had tried to login to my account and when I asked them if any of the texts were from Wealthsimple they ignored the question and just told me my account was secure. I've been with them for a few years and their customer relations have gone from A to D-

I’ve lost money on several occasions because of their glitchy App, it’s always down. I try to buy a share and instead of me being able to shares they take the money out of my chequing account and still don’t have the shares I bought. They told me it’s a missed opportunity when it’s proven on my App. I will no longer refer this company to another person! Terrible customer service!

My boss e-transfered me my paycheque yet wealthsimple cannot locate it. I provided proof yet no one can help me. I have my bills and mortgage due. No money for gas or food and my kids are home this summer. Why is this not a priority to fix for me asap??? All got was, my hands are tied. And that there would be an answer in the next few days. I used the correct “cash account” handle yet I’m screwed for moving my pay checks here. I will de-invest in this bank asap - even though I just opened the account 1 month ago.

Where do I start. Horrible service. A month ago they froze my bank account, asking for proof of my tax refunds, and notice if assessments for payment the government deposited into my account by direct deposit. I was in shock. I had no money to gas my car or buy a coffee for 4 days while they reviewed my documents. I complied with all requests and was subjected to a nightmare of issues: rejected my car and insurance payments. A week later I had to put in a request to locate my paycheque which was deposited during the hold and was “misplaced”. Over $3,000. No explanation provided, it just randomly showed up after I complained. 5 days later my account is drained. Apparently Fraud. Repeated calls for the same issue. It’s been 2 full weeks since the fraud- where all of my money withdrawn. I have been continuall told that they are investigating. They agreed it was fraud but will not release any money. There has not been a penny provided for me to support my family. This is a horrible bank. I filed a formal complain and have been waiting on a proper response or solution.

Extremely disatissfied with this company. They put a promotion to get an Iphone inf you trasnfered 100k and mantained it for a year. I complied, yet they still charged me for the silly phone. What a way to hav a promotion backfire on you.

This company takes the cake for incompetence. All they seem to do is to drain money from customers and line their own pockets. Let me be crystal clear, if you're looking to get a dependable returns on your ventures, this isn't the place to get them. After over three months of frustrating back-and-forth, I've had enough and moved over to Equitypathway. They prioritise ensuring their clients get paid promptly and reliably. Now, that's what I call the real deal.

Been with this app for 3.5 years and they just locked my account for no reason, after 30 day period liquidated my crypto to cash, when I couldn't loged in. Lost 80,000$. Started to search on web for someone like me and there are thousand cases like this. Asked for Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre to deal with the problem. Would appreciate any suggestions on dealing with this problem. Stay away!!
