Low fees, great UI, easy to do everything yourself. I have not had to deal with customer support, but if you don't have issues, the app is great.
I've missed many trade trade opportunities because the stock is not available. Then a couple times I tried to make a trade, it took way to long to go through, causing me to miss out on the profit. Oh , and you cant even short a stock, nor can you place a simple stop order. Crypto? Forget it, its way too expensive vs other brokerages. So as I try to withdraw my funds, they tell me my bank account is a business account (it is not, I'm not a business owner) and they're system does not support that account- hmm, funny, they seemed to support it when they took my money.
I've been on hold for over an hour. How can a international company allocate so little funds to a working call centre and customer support system? When the operator picks up I am closing my wealthsimple accounts. Update - THEY HUNG UP ON ME. They have lost my business for life and I will be warning everyone I know to stay away from this company.
I find no freedom to move my money I cont send Crypto out and and scams to me %2.5 percent charge and the costemer service the seems some promising never done I try to draw my money but I m so Scaring I will be under scam and fraud and I can't access my money
Ma belle-sœur est décédée en juin 2023. Elle avait un peu d’argent en CELI chez eux (Wealth"Simple"). J’aide mon beau-frère avec le roulement des REER, CELI, Assurance, assurance collective qu’elle avait un peu partout. Tout a été réglé entre juillet et novembre (Mica Capital, Industrielle Alliance, FTQ, UV Life, Financière Agricole, Première of Canada, BNC, Lemieux Assurance, Fidelity, Mackenzie,…) sauf avec Wealth"simple"… Still waiting - la fille du support (Audrey) prend TOUJOURS plus d’un mois à répondre à mes questions - Elle se mélange dans les courriels de réponse - Ils demandent des documents que je ne sais pas où trouver. Des formulaires nébuleux et elle ne m’explique pas où les trouver - Ils veulent les originaux des documents légaux (certificat de décès, testament, recherches testamentaires, …) et non pas des scan comme toutes les autres cies - Donc au final, nous nous sommes loggé en tant que défunte et avons racheté le CELI (en perdant les droits de cotisation)… et ça fait plus de 15 jours et toujours rien au compte. Terrible... Dangereusement terrible... Aucun support. ____ My sister-in-law died in June 2023. She had some money in TFSA at Wealth "Simple". I help my brother-in-law with the rollover of RRSPs, TFSAs, insurance, group insurance that she had everywhere. Everything was settled between July and November (Mica Capital, Industrielle Alliance, FTQ, UV Life, Financière Agricole, Première of Canada, BNC, Lemieux Assurance, Fidelity, Mackenzie,…) except with Wealth “simple”… Still waiting - the support girl (Audrey) ALWAYS takes more than a month to answer my questions - She gets mixed up in reply emails - They ask for documents that I don't know where to find. Nebulous forms to fill and she doesn't tell me where to find them - They want the originals of the legal documents (death certificate, will, will searches, etc.) and not scans like all the other companies - So in the end, we logged in as the deceased and bought back the TFSA (losing the contribution rights)… and it's been more than 15 days and still nothing in the account. Terrible... Dangerously terrible... No support.
Extemely disappointed with service and resolving issues. Transferred my money from Scotia to wealthsimple and they cannot even stop the payment going through my TFSA that will go over contribution. Will be pulling out my funds. What a mistake to open in this low profile company that cannot address and help customer concerns.
It is all bells and whistles kids Move along. Like RUN along. I was transferring over seven figures to Wealthsimple. A rep called me and told me all the features of the Generation Program and told me I would be getting an Apple TB phone, which after I did some investigating I was TOTALLY lowballed in this offer. Seriously a slap in the face. Anyhoo. The rep said they would contact me in a couple days to see if I was going to transfer the funds and set me up with a transfer specialist. I emailed him the next day said I was going ahead and get someone to contact me. NO ONE got back to me. So I went online and did the transfer myself.Downloaded my statements. My bank called me and said they received a transfer request from WS, I said yes process the request. 1 1/2 weeks go by and nothing. So I called up WS and the rep said. Oh, there is an issue. I am thinking ok, if there was an issue why hasnt anyone called me or emailed me. Appears some funds could not be transferred so they had to be sold first. So they had to start from the beginning. So my request was redone. I checked what was sent in and lo and behold, totally wrong instructions. At that point I was like, this is not worth my time. Literally bad from the beginning to the end. I just went online cancelled the transfer request and transferred the account to another bank . What bothers me more is that online people are raving on how much in transfer bonuses they were getting . Like way more than a phone. I have a phone. If I wanted an Apple TB, I can go buy one. Plus I had downloaded my account statements. It was a total statement showing EXACTLY the funds that I hold. What is puzzling is did the transfer specialist, and I am using that word, specialist loosely. Did they even LOOK to see what funds were being transferred. I specifically mentioned in my transfer request I held mutual funds in my holdings. If there was an issue, why could you not even email me saying " Hey these funds will need to be sold prior to the transfer, are you OK with this ?" It is not rocket science kids. Anyway, Run. It is just bells and whistles and shiny things to attract people
My two cents, this is a very novus and childish app that I would give to young kids to trade with for 10K max, the whole trading is just a joke, and the USD conversion is unfair, unjustified so I would not recommend anyone to use their ETF/Stocks options, for the management they are doing simply fine. I have been with them for 3 years now and moved away and just came back for a promotion, but after I have done almost all my trades away and just keeping them for a short period of time.
I moved a significant amount of money to WealthSimple based on the functionality they promised and for the high cash savings rates. The initial onboarding process was great but since then, the functionality of the app has proved to be less than promised and help from their support has been dismal. Their mobile app is terrible and the desktop web app is even worse. I would not recommend this company if you are planning to do much in the way of investing and esp. not if you want to trade options.
Opened a support ticket 15 days ago. Got a call back today, missed it, now I'm stuck on hold trying to call them... You cannot do chargebacks through the mobile app. This basic functionality needs a phone call like it's the 1990s.
Lost all my money
I don’t like the execution orders for previous days some times does not end for the current day , then continues to execute the next day. Maybe a glitch. 27 sept 2023 about 1045am executed order from previous day. Had it happen another time before too.
Wealthsimple has terrible customer service and doesn't value their clients. You will wait days to get a response from an agent and they are continually changing the ui and format which is a nuisance. When you finally get use to where everything is they move it again. Makes no sense they'll pay ppl to do that crap , but not reply when a client needs help.
The app is slow and hangs frequently. Every update is a gamble whether it will improve the app or slow it down further. The latter, sadly, has proven to be more likely. Moreover, as an investments service, it is outrageous that it offers incorrect calculations of profit (gains) & loss.
- Charged me currency conversion fee while still on subscription - Cannot submit a selling order - system constantly has errors fixing the available shares to trade - non existent customer service line, nobody ever picked up nor called back - money withdrawal takes so many days for “risk management” purposes
There are too many things to be addressed here. They are the worst platform, especially if you are a digital nomad or planning on spending a part if the year overseas.
Customer service is nonexistent. Money was stolen from my cash account and Wealthsimple has done nothing than waste my time. My money is also still missing.
Ok, so I do not have a WS account, and never have. For the past 2-3 years they have sent me emails at least every month asking for me to update my profile info. I tried to ignore it. I tried to stop it. I tried to contact them in every way possible. This a.m I got an email stating that they were going to send me more than 26K out of "my account" So if I was a dishonest person, someone out there would be short 26K. The reps name is Sarthak. If Sarthak is your rep, you ought to run quick!!!
Pure trash! You guys are joke. Customer support is Mickey Mouse one. You are a bigger cartoon company than Disneyland. They stole my money!
