Amazing!!!
We had an amazing flight over Bath, going over the edge of the city and across the countryside, eventually landing near Castle Combe over an hour later. We were taken up through the clouds twice, which was sublime, and so peaceful. We have had more than a dozen flights cancelled due to poor weather over the last two years, but all that was forgotten! Our pilot, Nobby, was fantastic, informative and fun, and all the passengers had a great time helping fold up the balloon at the end. So worth the wait!
Our pilot, Chris Aindow, was very careful and skilled. After some waiting for the wind speeds to be optimal, we had a fantastic evening flight around Petworth, with great visibility and blissful calm, circling around. We could see a full forty-mile radius across from London in one direction to the Isle of Wight in the other. It was a wonderful celebration of our Ruby wedding, given to us by our three children and their spouses. Thank you!
It was our 7th attempt at the flight, others postphoned due to weather conditions. It was an incredible experience, both the flight itself and the involvement in the preparation and packing away. The only slight disappointment was that we took off from Tissington when we had booked for Buxton. We thought the terrain from Buxton would be much more varied and interesting. I'm delighted to have been able to tick this off my bucket list! Thank you.
Friendly advice. Overall good experience.
What an amazing experience I would throughly recommend an extra shout out to Ben our pilot who made the whole thing thing extra special
Professional and skillful Pilot Ben made the flight seems effortless as we rose gently soaring to over 3,000 ft. Spectacular views a bucket list must.
Had this experience gifted to me and was not something I would have thought of doing myself. Booked in on the 27th July in the morning and absolutely loved it! I wasn't sure what to expect, but i found the flight so smooth and tranquil. It was also exciting to not actually know where you would end up as you’re dictated to by the wind direction. The Prosecco when you land is a nice touch. I can’t wait to do it again.. if and when I do, I hope Mike will be our aeronaut again, he was such a calm, lovely and funny man with all the jokes!! The only minor negative is the basket space - it’s a bit of a squeeze with four adults per section, so be prepared to literally rub shoulders (especially when seated for landing!) and to stand on an angle to avoid the shoulder rubbing when standing… but other than that I highly recommend :-)
Absolutely amazing experience made even better by the fantastic crew.
It was amazing from stat to finish well explained
Expert pilot and ground crew. Strong engagement with everyone and keen to involve us all. Efficient, effective and enthusiatic team.
Just the whole experience was great from start to finish. Our pilot Ed was informative, friendly and put us all at ease. Didn’t realise we had taken off until he told us we could stand up, the landing was perfect.
Absolutely brilliant..would well recommend..if you haven't done this and are going to you will not be disappointed
Great Virgin Balloon flight from Bristol last night with pilot Noddy & ground crew. It was a fun experience from start to finish, my son really enjoyed helping inflate the balloon, the balloon ride was tranquil with fantastic views good fun packing up the balloon at the end of the ride, I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Noddy & team if you are interested in a hot air balloon ride.
Great experience in near perfect conditions. Always felt secure in the hands of experienced pilot Pete and his support guys. The added bonus of a sense of humour made the experience even more enjoyable. Well done team Virgin.
The wait to do this was more than worthwhile it was an amazing experience from start to finish .
Although my flights got cancelled a few times ( due to weather conditions-so for safety) everyone I ever dealt with at Virgin , from phone staff to pilot, were helpful, professional and friendly. We had a tremendous experience flying over the Crook of Lune. It’s not the adrenaline filled hour in the air that I anticipated; it was far more serene. I went with my friend, but some people were on their own and that would have been fine too. If you’re looking at reviews wondering whether to buy a flight: be prepared for them to be moved around a bit ( both date wise and location) but do go ahead and book. I’ll never forget the experience and know that one day, I will go again. The early morning flight was serene.
Once the weather window finally opened it was all well organised and very engaging. Extremely smooth take off, after the theatre of preparation. The landing was almost as smooth. In between, vistas of fields and farms and human activity. Early morning deer and a fox too added to the things to see. Rising above the clouds gave an out of this world experience with streaming sunshine casting shadows. Lifetime memories. Pilot Nobby Simmonds was highly experienced and full of information and confidence and good humour bringing it all together so competently. Thank you to the ground crew too
The pilot and helpers were friendly and knowledgeable, they helped people that were having a few difficulties with a can do attitude
Glyn and Nobby were fantastic. Informative, full of knowledge, funny, and a great duo to head up a team. A wonderful first flight, and would love to do it again. Well worth the wait! So glad the earlier flights were cancelled, as it meant we got the best visibility on our actual flying day. Couldn't recommend it enough.
