We had the most fabulously spectacular experience on our Virgin balloon flight. Right from the very start we were involved. It really was the true experience, helping to set up the balloon ready for the flight to helping pack away after landing. The flight itself was one of the best things we've ever experienced. It was so peaceful and beautiful flying across the countryside. The views were stunning, and our pilot, Robert Keron, was an absolute wealth of knowledge, letting us know places of historical interest we could spot along the way. We would highly recommend a balloon flight to everyone and look forward to doing it again ourselves. (We waited 4 years for this flight. 18 months were affected by the restrictions of covid 19, and other flights we booked were all cancelled due to the weather, but it was definitely worth the wait and has not put us off wanting to book again.) After waiting 6.5 years and 25+ attempts to take my first balloon flight, I realised it was well worth it. The flight was organised just a few days before, as the weather looked perfect. I would recommend that anyone having trouble getting a flight sign up for the notifications. Chatting with the pilot, I learned that he recommends morning flights, and as I have another voucher, I'm going for a morning again. The bonus was I flew over my house and took a fantastic picture!

The flight was very well organised. Good instruction the day before on how to get to the take off area and timings. Pilot Phil and ground support staff Steve were friendly, professional and amusing. Helping to prepare the balloon for flight and packing away afterwards added to the overall enjoyment of the morning Flight was amazing. Very controlled and felt 100% in safe hands.

After a few occasions of the flight being cancelled due to weather conditions, we finally managed to fly and what an unforgettable experience it was! Dave our pilot and his crew were so welcoming and friendly from the moment the balloon was on the racecourse to being transported back to the original launch site. Dave informed us of the status of our flight in advance on the flightline and his team were really well organised. Flying over York and the surrounding countryside was spectacular and the landing was thrilling! We finished off the experience with a cup of prosecco in a field whilst watching a slideshow of photos from our group flight. We were even given a certificate as a souvenir. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience! Well worth the wait!

Dave and his team were incredible - they were very knowledgeable about ballooning and made us feel very safe. The whole experience from setting up the balloon to the amazing flying and then to the bumpy landing was surreal. Even packing up was brilliant- what an experience to have!! You only live once - do it!

Lynn was very understanding as to why we were unable to use the vouchers over the last 15 months. Extending the deadline date is very useful to us.

3rd time lucky after British weather conditions scuppered the plans on previous occasions. We were a group of 4 and were looked after all together which was really nice. Pilot Chris and all the ground crew were really friendly and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. There was great explanation and everything felt really safe. The flight itself was so smooth unlike anything you can imagine until you try it! And we landed in a cow field which just topped it off for me as they watched us pack away the balloon. All in all a lovely experience and I can’t thank all of the crew enough.

From start to finish I cannot fault virgin balloons. Friendly, courteous booking staff, Ed our pilot was also friendly, knowledgeable of the area, explained the flight well and made it such a fantastic experience for myself and my son whose 30th birthday gift it was. Thoroughly recommend.

Pete, Tim and Keith, a great team. The experience was hands on from the start with us helping to inflate the balloon. Clear, concise instructions for safety. Once up in the air the tranquility and fantastic views were an experience to behold. Pete shared landmark information if questions were raised but apart from that we were left to enjoy the flight. Gentle landing at the end, then all hands on deck to pack away the balloon, our hard work rewarded with a Buck’s Fizz! Many thanks for an experience of a lifetime.
