I was considering a Millar ukulele that had taken my fancy but as I live in France I was unsure about the delivery and taxes. I emailed on a Sunday afternoon, not expecting a reply until at least the next day. A few minutes later I got a friendly, clear and informative reply. My new ukulele arrived two days earlier than predicted in perfect condition and is gorgeous. No one could ask for better service or quality of instruments.

This is the best ever Ukulele store. All the staff are very helpful in every way. The videos allow you to see and hear all the ukuleles in your own time and your own space so it is easier to make up your mind about which one to buy. They put such a lot of time and effort into this store it makes the buying of a ukulele a really enjoyable experience. Their experience and expertise is outstanding. They will answer any question and resolve any issues. They look like a nice bunch of guys as well.

The staff are knowledgable, friendly and very helpful. In somewhat difficult circumstances they went out of their way to help. The ukulele that I bought is wonderful.

Dealing with Southern Ukulele was a joy. Rob was very friendly and professional. He answered my questions satisfactorily while I tried to decide between two ukuleles. There’s always a bit of nervousness when purchasing an instrument before trying it out, however, I’m more than satisfied with my purchase. Shipping was very reasonable and fast from the UK. Since I started playing ukulele Southern Ukulele Store have always been my go-to place for advice, ukuleles, strings and all things in between. I love the friendly staff who are more than keen to help you out. They know so much about the ukulele , it's history and what's on the market, so are a great resource of information. The shop itself is so lovely to be in too, really comfortable and private, allowing you to get intimate with instruments as you try them which I haven't found in other shops as much. On the whole, I'm proud to be a customer of theirs and after my recent purchase of a Kamaka soprano I'm over the moon.

Ordered a new Ukelele by phone on a Monday, received with accessories two days later. Superb service. Also thanks to advice from Alex in the shop, I only spent half as much as I thought I would need to, in order to acquire a really nice instrument.

I couldn't be more happy with my new ukulele, a Platinum 2021 Kanile'a, a special customised order in the very safe hands of SUS. They fitted a Mi-Si pickup, lowered the action and set it up perfectly for my style of play. It arrived in super quick time. A very enjoyable experience.

I was a little apprehensive about ordering a ukulele that would have to ship internationally (UK to US), but SUS did a great job packing it for its journey. Purchased a Magic Fluke Ukulele Bass, very very quick delivery and safely packed. Having watched numerous videos on YouTube from SUS and in particular the 12 Bass review by Alex I thought I would buy from a personal outfit as opposed to faceless people on the net. Couldn’t resist after hours spent on YouTube reviews with Alex and ordered a Baritone. I bought a Snail Tenor just over a month ago and again a quality experience from SUS staff to help spend my money on the right choice for my current level of playing. Just bought a great little soprano ukulele - the Millar longneck. As usual, had wonderful service from Alex and the team at Southern Ukulele Store. Good professional advice, efficient and helpful. The template for what a specialist music store should be, in my opinion.

Earlier this year I bought a tenor Islander ukulele and had it customised to include a pickup, so I can play it through an amp. The work was carried out in good time and the product arrived well packed. The staff are magnificent, along with their informative videos- available online, they also provide excellent professional 1:1 service. They're very polite and friendly.

Alex is just as helpful and friendly as he is in his SUS videos. His knowledge of ukuleles is impressive, and he really knows about strings, too! The Martin and Fremont Low G combo he suggested made a big difference in the sound of my Kala Cedar tenor. And that Fremont, even though it was wound, was really smooth to the touch, it made the other strings I've tried feel coarse by comparison.
