Joanna at SENsational Tutors was very helpful in finding a tutor for my son who started working with Jane over a year ago during the pandemic. Jane was able to capture his attention immediately by tailoring her lessons to his interests and puts a lot of thought and preparation into the lessons. She has really supported his learning focusing on fundamental reading, spelling, maths and handwriting skills. This support was very helpful especially during the homeschooling period and has continued to help him make great progress by reviewing concepts learned in the classroom at school.

Sensational tutors were an invaluable resource when we moved to the UK last year and my child was out of school. They were quick to offer tutor options and the suggested fit was indeed apt. We worked with Linda for 5months and watched my daughter blossom. I heartily recommend them.

Sensational tutors provided an extremely efficient service to match us with a suitable tutor for our son. Our experience with SENsationaltutors over the last couple of years has been fantastic for our two boys. Both of them have different needs and the tutors they had match perfectly what they needed. Our oldest son had some development difficulties, Joanna and Stephanie found ways to engage him and tried different ways for him to learn more complex/abstract concepts. His writing skills blossomed in her tutorials and from hating and dreading to write, Sebastian now loves to write stories and poems. The tutors are very professional, always on time and keep us updated on the content of the sessions and observations. They also work closely with the school to ensure they complement and target the right topics for the boys. The tutors really understand our sons and keep them motivated, which is a pleasure to see.

My daughter has been seeing Jill for 8 months now, and she has been fantastic. Poppy struggles with ASD and PDA, and Jill is able to get her on board every session. She is doing some amazing work, both accademic and around her social and mental health needs. Jill has been the ideal match for Poppy and Im so glad we found her.

The communication is always brilliant and they did a wonderful job teaming my shy 10 year old daughter Gabrielle with an enthusiastic tutor Sarah. The sessions are totally engaging for Gabrielle who has grown in confidence and blossomed.

John has worked with my boys (aged 10 and 8) since June 2021, between them they have ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. John had been patient, kind, flexible, motivating, engaging and reflective about his approach with both boys. He delivers truly bespoke input to meet their individual needs. He arrived on time and well prepared. He has a nurturing and supportive approach. It should also be stated that John does not just provide support to my children, he has provided considerable support to me navigating the education services and exploring appropriate reasonable adjustments which may suit the boys, his guidance in this has allowed me to effectively advocate for my children in the best possible way. I can not thank him enough.

The Tutor we were provided with was such an excellent fit with our client. Our client 20yrs old has an brain injury with associated learning difficulties, The tutor was able to positively engage with her and help to make difference in her daily life. The tutor brought new choices into play and offered excellent support.

SENsational Tutors have provided us with fantastic support and matched our son who is Dyspraxic with an excellent out of school tutor. We are lucky in that our children go to an excellent school but we felt that our son needed something extra as he is in his final year of primary school and with secondary school coming soon, we wanted to boost his confidence and help him further in some areas that he struggles in. Joanna listened carefully and asked us about our son's personality and needs in detail and advised that a tutor within a mentoring capacity would work well for him at this stage to develop his confidence. Upon this advice, Joanna suggested the most perfect tutor for him and she was absolutely right! He has taken time to get to know what our son is interested in and tailors part of the session to this but finds a way to stretch his ability each time. I am always impressed by how much work they get done each week and the ideas that Steven has for each session - they are really original and the tools and resources he uses are fantastic. I am very happy with our experience of Sensational Tutors, Joanna matched my daughter with an amazing maths tutor, and is always around to make sure things are going well. Gillian has helped my daughter develop her confidence and skills in maths and she is very warm and caring; listening to her needs and providing lots of support and encouragement. My son William has been having sessions with Kirsten for 2 and a half months and we have already seen positive changes in Williams work and confidence in this short time. William really struggles with his memory, to stay focused and work Independently. We have already seen a difference in all three of these areas when completing homework with William and this has also been noticed by his class teacher too. Kirsten is so engaging and fun, she has really boosted his self esteem and William loves his sessions with her! SENsational Tutors have been really simple and helpful to deal with too. My son who has a diagnosis of Autism with Social and Communication Disorder, was permanently excluded from his special educational needs secondary provision. As a result he has spent the majority of this year at home without any access to SaLT and in particular OT. It had become apparent during this lull that Elijah was losing the limited skills he had and his negative behaviour was escalating. I researched online for a private tutor initially specialising in Autism but then narrowed the search down to fine/gross motor skills which are more OT related. SENsational Tutors came up and after being very impressed with what I read on their website, I went on to find a tutor. A few tutors came up and I chose Vojtech...a decision I so am grateful for. Vojtech came to our home and assessed Elijah for 30 mins to see what Elijah current skills yet are. Bearing in mind Vojtech had no knowledge of the length of time Elijah spent at home, I was equally amazed and horrified when Vojtech identified the lack of OT now becoming apparent (my son used to constantly lean to his left side when seated on the sofa) plus a right shoulder anomaly which I have since consulted my GP with. We discussed a programme catered to Elijah's OT needs consisting of ball games which would gently stretch Elijah's arm and help with his co-ordination. Vojtech also carried out painting, practicing the use of a knife and fork by cutting playdough, rolling playdough to strengthen and further develop is fine/gross motor skills, number sequencing, picture sequencing, helping to develop Elijah's speech and Makaton signing throughout all sessions. During the early sessions, Elijah needed frequent breaks due to lack of concentration but once settled into Vojtech's routine, the breaks became less frequent - it helps that these sessions occur in our home where Elijah is more relaxed. In the very short space of time we have known Vojtech, Elijah's speech has vastly improved as well as his concentration. I am so glad to have you in our lives Vojtech and I must also thank Joanna, the Director and Founder of SENsational Tutors Ltd, who has travelled this journey of expanding Elijah's mind every step of the way! We spoke with SENsational Tutors during the Summer regarding homeschooling for our 13 year old son who has Aspergers after our relationship with his mainstream secondary school effectively broke down. They were immediately very helpful and full of advice and suggestions. Through SENsational, we arranged for a tutor to come and teach our son. She has been absolutely fantastic and has been teaching him mainly science, English and maths in line with curriculum and with a view to him eventually returning to the right school and doing GCSEs. She has taken time to get to know our son and understand his strengths and weaknesses to ensure that her teaching matches his abilities and takes on board the various quirks of his autistic traits. She has been incredibly patient and understanding with him and has introduced practical elements to lessons including simple experiments and baking or food prep as part of his science lessons. She will often go above and beyond our expectations by providing books and equipment for lessons, or taking him for a short walk in the local park for a break during lessons when he is tired or restless. She has been constantly encouraging him in his work but also always gently pushes him to do more. The improvement in our son is noticeable in both his attitude to schoolwork and education and also his general demeanour - he is brighter and happier. Our experience with SENsational Tutors has been very positive so far. During our initial conversation, Joanna took the the time to get to know us and our son’s needs and advised on the right tutor for us based on our requirements. We have used Gillian for several months and while it is still relatively early, we have been impressed by Gillian’s dedication to her students and her willingness to look for different methods to help explain concepts.
