Sarah's work online has been amazing. Before meeting Sarah I was a fan of only face to face tutorial sessions but Sarah has successfully convinced me how online sessions can be even better for SEN kids. Joanna quickly understood the requirements we had for a tutor for our autistic 8 year old son, and was able to find us Laura amazingly swiftly. Our son is a fairly quirky little chap, but Laura is doing a great job at both gradually building rapport & a relationship with him, and providing him with effective strategies to help him improve his written work (an area he really struggles with that is a huge area of anxiety for him). It's early days so far, but Samuel is engaging as well as we could have hoped for with an online tutor thanks to Laura.

Jane (SEN Tutor) is exceptional. Her classes are engaging, interactive and specifically created for each student. She has been working with a Year 6 student who has dyslexia and ADHD. The student enjoys coming to her lessons, whereas they were reluctant to have tuition with other tutors in the past.

Joanna was very good at understanding our daughter's current struggle and recommended tutors who exactly suits for our requirement. Our daughter's tutor Laura was an excellent tutor and she quickly understood my daughter's current level of understanding and struggle. she started lessons in a way our daughter understands easily and also improved her confidence. She always enjoys laura's class.

Stephanie knows the secondary school curriculum really well, and understands exactly what Cora needs help with because she integrates school:home work into the SEN tutoring. She works really hard to prepare for the lessons and it means Cora is gaining confidence and also shows up to school better prepared and not feeling she’s always doing “extra work” all the time. Study technique and organisation is a key difficulty for kids with processing and dyslexia issues and Stephanie shows Cora methods for coping with those issues.

Sarah has been a fantastic fit for our family. She quickly jumped right in and became an integral part of our 4 year old son’s team. The nursery is thrilled to have her as a 1:1 as she is so effective at predicting and managing unwanted behaviours. Most importantly, our son adores her.

Joanna from SENsational Tutors provided me with a wonderful selection of candidates for consideration as well as personalised suggestions about who might be the best fit for my son. All the candidates offered a free consultation before making any decisions which enabled me to select the very best candidate. My tutor provides fully resourced, planned and prepared bespoke sessions (all included in the cost) that my son loves. He has had some learning/school difficulties for the last couple of years and the tutors we have used through SENsational Tutors are highly skilled, very experienced and professional. My son has had gaps in his knowledge filled, gained confidence and is now more engaged in learning. I believe the skilled, qualified and experienced SEND teachers working through SENsational Tutors is what makes the service different to other tutoring companies. I’m so glad I found them. My only regret is that I haven’t contacted them sooner!

The tutor is kind and enthusiastic and takes a great approach to our daughter clearly understanding that this is somebody who needs to be nurtured and encouraged . I love the way she brings materials to do experiments and build confidence and knowledge . My only negative comment is the prices of the various tutors - ours is one of the most reasonable amounts but basically the fees makes the services of sensational tutors only available to families with quite a lot of disposable income . I didn’t see that all tutors would be bringing materials like ours and yet they cost even more per hour . At over £100 per session I think it’s really an exclusive service and would ask the organiser to consider offering some bursary places to families who are less well off

I was looking for an understanding tutor for my son who is autistic and anxious especially around school. It was so easy to contact the marvellous Kirsten through Sensational Tutors, we had a long chat over the phone before the first session and I was emailed a lesson plan so my son would be prepared. My son loves Kirsten, she is open, encouraging, has loads of new ideas and ways to learn so it doesn’t even feel like school! My son is managing his anxiety much better now, he’s asked if Kirsten can come every week until he leaves school (another 8 years!) highly recommend Senstational Tutors and Kirsten.

I would definitely recommend SENsational tutors. My youngest daughter has 18q deletion syndrome and a complex set of challenges including difficulty speaking / communicating. She enjoys books and is starting to read and we were looking for a tutor to support her with reading skills and in general help her to engage with learning phonics and numeracy skills. We have had a great experience with SENsational tutors. Joanna’s matching service was great and the personal interaction made us feel reassured that our daughters needs would be well catered for / we would get the right tutor for her. Her tutor, Amy has been brilliant. Experienced and unphased by the challenges, she has been creative in her approach, developed a trusting relationship with our daughter and been great at getting her to focus and stretch herself. So happy we found her!

I am very impressed with Sensational Tutors. It is extremely thorough and in a class of its own. Lessons for children are specifically tailored to their SEN, and there is a very rigorous process undertaken between tutor/family/agency before an appropriate tutor is selected. Joanna, the director of the agency, is highly qualified in all areas of SEN, and as such fully appreciates the various challenges SEN children/parents can experience. She has tutors with a wide range of SEN skills and experience, and will do her utmost to find the best possible tutor for a child, so as to give them a positive and rewarding learning experience.

David is the best maths teacher we have ever known. He is able to engage our son in maths, when in the past nobody else has. He’s made him more confident as well as giving him new skills. He has helped improve his overall attitude to learning and confidence in his ability in all areas of school. He has a great manner and approach, he is patient, flexible and accommodating. He has the skills to adapt his teaching on the spot depending on the moment. His has become a great mentor as well as maths teacher. Soon has even said he enjoy maths with David - a small miracle ! The school have noticed a huge improvement in attitude to learning and ability too. All together excellent ! Highly recommended.

My daughter is aged 15 with downs syndrome. During lockdown, I realised that I needed help with her literacy. We discovered Becky who has been absolutely amazing at supporting my daughter over the last few months.
