Having moved into the UK recently, it was important for us to quickly find a good tutor for our 7 year old daughter who is on the spectrum. Within a day of contacting SENSational tutors, Joanna scheduled a call with us to understand our daughter's needs, strengths, our concerns and expectations. The tutor matching process was exceptionally quick; within days Joanna had matched us with the perfect tutor, Amy. Amy is a very experienced SEN specialist. The sessions are always engaging and creative. Lesson objectives are pre-agreed with us and lessons well planned incorporating visual resources to enhance learning experience. Amy also goes the extra mile. Some examples include: helping with a social story to enable our daughter settle into her new school, suggesting techniques we could use to address developing sensory issues, she has also provided input to communications with school to help understand strategies that have worked. Hi Joanna, O what a lovely & superb choice of very professional tutors you “personally” selected for us to consider after listening to all my worries with my grandson Louis, aged only 5. Especially so, after I personally said to you Louis couldn’t even focus on learning for more than 10/15 minutes with us at a time & that his reception school teacher said he was really struggling since starting school & was falling so far behind. Understandably no family ever wants to make that SEN call with anyone, but Joanna, I am and our whole family are so pleased I did! As Grandad to 6 beautiful children I know Louis now is getting great specialist tuition support. First time Louis met Miriam, Miriam amazingly had him totally focused for the whole one & half hours. We were totally & absolutely shocked, but so very pleased & relieved. In just 3 weeks (only 3 lessons) Miriam has engaged & transformed Louis (and our families confidence together) & Louis absolutely loves her and is so very proud of his learning folder & teach papers Miriam made and gave to him. Miriam has been absolutely superb, she is so extremely professional and has Louis totally engaged for the whole one and a half hours she spends with him each week. We as a family are taking it all on board, carrying on Miriam’s tutoring advice during the rest of each week. We are working together as a family team so well with Miriam so we can ultimately, establish what Special Educational Needs Louis will require in his long term future. We realise, he will definitely need a “solid long term educational plan” In time, following expert consultant paediatric reviews we will be able to establish what Louis may have to contend with and what we can work to and plan for his very best future. We have had a wonderful experience with SENsational Tutors Ltd. I had a wonderful conversation with Joanna who runs this business and she really understood our needs and what we were looking for in a tutor. She sent three candidates profiles, all of which were very high calibre and had years of pertinent experience. I was lucky enough to meet Siri in person to see it would be a good fit, and her energy was wonderful and I just knew she was the right tutor for our 8 year old son who was recently diagnosed with High functioning autism (ASD). Her profile/CV was very impressive but with our special needs son, the energy really is incredibly important. Siri is warm, approachable, very professional and has great sense of humour. She has loads of SEN experience and is able to follow my son's lead. My son is not a people pleaser and he won't be made to do things he does not want to do (he is quite rigid, etc), but he quickly formed a bond with Siri and really enjoys his session with her. Every week I am astonished to see that my son stays in the room learning and engaging with Siri for an hour and a half when I could not get him to sit for 15 minutes during home schooling. Sometimes I hear them in animated discussion, giggling, reading from text with great expression, etc. We can see an improvement in his maths, spelling, and handwriting and this has been confirmed by his classroom teacher as well. I am so glad that we found SEN national Tutors and so glad we found the amazing Siri. She has incredible insight, is incredibly professional and well organised, and always gives a good run down of what they have been working on and things we need to focus on at home. I have been most impressed with Sensational tutors from the very beginning. The website has been very useful with pictures and profiles of all the tutors. After selecting few, Joanna has arranged phone-calls very quickly. After initial chats with the tutors we selected the one that was perfect match for our son. My son had a face-time conversation as well so felt equally involved in selecting the tutor. After a chat he had with Krista I knew straight away that they have a good chemistry and dynamic. Krista is full of genuine enthusiasm and passion, is very dynamic and understands our son really well. She understands when he needs a mental break and when he's losing attention. Alex has become more driven and more ambitious to succeed. When learning had to move online I was a bit apprehensive how will Alex respond but Krista is well skilled in using latest technology to make remote sessions interactive and fun.

I was looking for a SEN tutor for my Son who has ASD to help him with some extra support and learning whilst going through last couple of years at Primary School. During the pandemic I felt he was struggling in some areas that needed some extra attention. She has been great! with clear communication and updates and always happy and persevered through the first few tricky sessions.
