I used Sensational Tutors to source a suitable tutor for my autistic child who struggles with a lot of things. I got some amazing support narrowing down suitable tutors, I had the chance to review each tutor and then have a long talk with a tutor and a free hour agreed with the tutor. She has been very understanding and shifted her practices to fit with my daughter's very specific needs. We do the sessions online which means we each maximise our time, and it helps relieve the pressure too. I would highly recommend Sensational tutors to everyone who is interested in tutors for their Autistic kids. The individual plan we have crafted together is exactly what we needed, that you just can't get in a group environment or a course structure.

GAME CHANGER FOR US: This was money well spent; high level of professionalism and expertise. Linda helped our daughter immensely and set us on the right course to meet our daughter’s unique needs. We were previously in the dark as to what style of learning was best suited for our daughter, and what her capabilities could be. I'd recommend SENsational Tutors in a heartbeat. It was a real struggle to support my 10 year old (with possible dyslexia), and with little support from our school teacher I found myself stuck on Maths problems and how to support my son. Joanna from SENsational Tutors came to the rescue and provided us with a quick and friendly virtual service using Zoom to help support my son's Maths work so that he can stay up to curriculum level on his return to school. Debbie has somehow managed to engage with my Autistic, PDA, selective mutism and engagement, teenager! Debbie is the first person ever who has successfully connected with my son. They carefully listened to our needs and they matched us with the best tutor we could ever wish for. We have been very pleased with SENsational Tutors. Both Joanna and Sandra, our son’s tutor, have always been helpful and quick to respond to any queries we have. Sandra has a wealth of knowledge and experience of SEN needs including PDA and SM. During her weekly visit she was able to gradually engage our son in different activities, always aware how much or little he can cope with. Her gentle, understanding and flexible approach helped him to be able to gain back some of his confidence in adults.

My son has severe dyslexia and written expression disorder and it became a full time job supporting him during lockdowns and revision for his GCSE exams. He passed these with great results (far higher than his target grades). However, we realised that this amount of support was not sustainable and Daniel needed to work more independently in sixth form if he was to achieve his ambition of attending university. Joanna, from Sensation Tutors, understood immediately what we were looking for: someone who could support Daniel with study skills. She matched him with Dora as we requested someone who was lively and fun. So far, Dora has been working with Daniel on note taking and he has responded well to the challenge. His level of engagement in the sessions has been high and he has kept up his level of concentration. Dora made it clear from the start that Daniel was going to have to work hard but that with effort comes reward. It is great for him to work with someone who understands his challenges, has a positive attitude and faith in his ability.

I was very impressed with the service provided to me by SENsational Tutors Ltd. It was a seamless process starting with an initial consultation to determine which tutor would fully suit my son’s needs through to the correct sourcing of the tutor right towards the end to ensure that all was progressing smoothly. Furthermore, I was super impressed with Steve, the tutor my son spent his time with for approximately a 3 week duration. He clearly without a shadow of a doubt, had oodles of experience in SEN and this benefited my son. Steve managed to successfully integrate my son fully into the class activities and just knew when/not to step in, also enabling my son to be independent and form friendships himself.

Joanna at Sensational Tutors worked really hard to find a tutor to help me during a period when my son was out of school. She is professional & thorough & all our communication was fast, clear & efficient. I needed someone to give me a break homeschooling my son who has ASD & dyspraxia. Joanna found Stephanie who worked with my son for a day a week for a month. Stephanie has a great, positive, enthusiastic approach. She worked hard to keep my son focused & they had a lot of fun together, playing games & even doing some baking. She was warm & friendly, formed a good relationship with my son, but also gave him boundaries .

Gillian is a lovely and passionate teacher who has the gift to connect with the student and tailor the sessions according to the student’s needs and interests. She is also very thorough and devotes a great deal of time to prepare each session and to communicate with the family with oral updates and written reports. Gillian is also very creative in the way she structures the sessions; she is engaging and fun and our autistic and dyslexic son really enjoyed working with her. We would definitely recommend Gillian to anyone who would like to see their kids improve academically whilst enjoying themselves.

Krista Is a sensational tutor. She helped me to build up strong organisational skills that will continue to help me throughout my life at university. Krista has a bubbly personality and has a calm and concise way of explaining things. I have ADHD and Dyslexia so I can often feel overwhelmed, however Krista always made me feel like everything was under control.

I contacted Krista to support my daughter as she prepared to submit her year 2 Interior Design Degree project. Krista was prompt in replying and really connected with my daughter. She was able to ascertain what would be most helpful for her, mainly organisational and structure skills in completing her tasks. This all happened over a short period of time and my daughter completed and submitted the project on time.

I have been using one of the tutors provided by Sensational tutors for about 6 months now and I have been so pleased with the service. My ASD son has adjusted so well to his one to one tutor that he looks forward to him coming weekly.
