We are so grateful to have found Shauleen; within weeks of starting, our son’s school contacted us unprompted to say they’ve already seen improvements. Her unique teaching style keeps him interested and engaged, and the weekly update reports are great for us to see progress and how we can support in between lessons.

From the very beginning, our experience with Sensational Tutors has been outstanding. Communication with the agency was seamless, and their recommendation of Alexandra as our son’s tutor was a perfect match. Alexandra’s understanding, patience, and thoughtful approach had an immediate impact, and over the past six months, her dedication has truly gone above and beyond our expectations. Even during challenging periods, Alexandra remained professional and unwavering in her support. Her experience and expertise helped navigate difficulties with confidence, ensuring our son always felt encouraged and supported. She took the time to understand his unique needs, tailoring her sessions to engage and help him progress in a way that truly made a difference. Her professionalism, warmth, and expertise have not only helped him academically but have also boosted his confidence and enthusiasm for learning. We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional service provided by both Sensational Tutors and Alexandra. Their commitment to ensuring the best support for children with SEN is evident in every interaction, and we wholeheartedly recommend them to any family seeking high-quality, specialist tutoring.

Sensational Tutors have helped me find two people who are exceptional SEN tutors to supports my daughter who has difficulties with working memory, slow processing speed and is dyslexic. Siri has been working with my daughter at home for over two years, and is an excellent SEN tutor. She is knowledgeable, witty, kind, and incredibly engaging with a remarkable ability to keep my daughter on task. Whether face-to-face or online, in English or Maths, Siri creates an environment in which my daughter is incredibly eager to learn. Lucy supports my daughter with weekly sessions at school. She is deeply dedicated to finding the right tools and strategies to meet my daughter’s unique learning needs, and she tailors and adapts her approach accordingly. Lucy is very knowledgeable and her insight into how to get the most out of my daughter is outstanding. Her sessions, although hard work, always feel playful, and my daughter learns without noticing. The support that SENsational Tutors have provided has led to visible academic progress and overall confidence, with my daughter having received offers from multiple excellent schools following her recent 11+ exams. I would not hesitate to recommend SENsational Tutors, who have helped me find two exceptional individuals who have transformed my daughter’s learning journey.

After many years of struggling with grammar and English in general; I was finally diagnosed with dyslexia at the grand old age of 52. I decided to look for help to try and improve my complete lack of grammar skills - partly to do with being dyslexic and partly having experienced a 1970’s parochial education which did not in-fact teach grammar. I found Sarah at SENsational Tutors and I’m so very glad I did. She has made a fundamental difference to me, not only with my lacking knowledge of grammar but also with my self confidence. I now face my mental challenges with confidence which is a serious turnaround for me. I cannot recommend her more highly - she’s an absolutely brilliant teacher who completely understood the difficulties I’ve always faced and she worked to find the best learning solutions for me. She’s also incredibly understanding and has highly professional training to support overcoming lack of confidence in one’s ability. Sarah has a fantastic sense of humour too! Just what was needed in some of our early morning lessons! I would 100% recommend Sarah and the team at SENsational Tutors. I can’t thank you enough for genuinely improving my life. Thank you!

My son has been having on line tutoring with Jess of Sensational Tutors for nearly three months now. Jess has had a very positive impact on him and has helped him learn new strategies for learning and completing his college work. She is very patient, encouraging and supportive and Jacob has really responded to this and listens to what she says. Her feedback to me before and after the sessions is fantastic, so I always know what the plan is, what was covered and what he has to do for the next session. I really struggled to find the right tutor to help him, as he has some specific learning needs, but Jess has been a life saver.

We cannot recommend Phil from SENsational Tutors highly enough. Our 10-year-old daughter is autistic with a pathological demand avoidant (PDA) profile, ADHD, sensory modulation disorder, a visual impairment, and OCD. She is bright, energetic, full of character, and eager to learn, but after experiencing severe burnout and trauma from school at the age of 7, she has been unable to attend school for over two and a half years. Her experience left her unable to trust adults, especially those connected to education, and she found it nearly impossible to engage with anyone outside of us, her parents. After a disappointing experience with a previous tutor who didn't fully understand her complex and nuanced communication needs, we were incredibly apprehensive about trying again. Then we met Phil, and everything changed. From the moment we were introduced, we knew Phil was the perfect match for our daughter. Phil is exceptional. He is gentle, flexible, and intuitive in his approach. He understands our daughter's unique challenges and adapts to her needs seamlessly. His ability to pick up on her subtle cues and adjust his methods accordingly is remarkable. He uses low-demand approaches, disguising learning within her interests and meeting her exactly where she is whether that's engaging in physical activities or weaving academic objectives into real-life, meaningful experiences. Our daughter, who has been desperate to access learning but whose nervous system struggles to cope, has finally found someone who bridges that gap for her. Phil's methods have enabled her to experience the joy of learning again without the pressure that once overwhelmed her. She has bonded with Phil in a way we never thought possible; he has truly become like a member of our family.

From the start, SENsational Tutors proved to be easy to work with, offering clear communication and explanations of procedures. The tutor they matched us with, Jane, was the perfect fit for our complex SEN boy as part of his EHCP provision. Jane has gone above and beyond, drawing on her extensive expertise to reengage our child in education after an 18-month gap. Her thoughtful planning and relationship-first approach have been instrumental in building trust and fostering progress. Additionally, Jane provided invaluable input to the child's annual review through her thorough assessments and deep understanding. I wholeheartedly recommend SENsational Tutors to anyone seeking tailored, nurturing, and effective tutoring services.

My son Jonathan has ADHD and is currently in an international school in Spain. We are returning to the UK later this year and he needed to sit 13+ common entrance exams. I approached Sensational Tutors to find a tutor for maths and English. We had a 6 week window before the exams started. We were recommended two excellent tutors, Krista and Alexia. Both immediately built a rapport with Jonathan and made the lessons interesting and managed to keep Jonathan engaged. Communication with myself was first class. I highly recommend both of them. Just today Jonathan received his first offer from a school!

SENsational Tutors have been wonderfully supportive since we reached out and put us in touch with Ewa. Ewa is amazing, she has been calm and clear from the outset, which as parents we have really appreciated - there is lots of information to take on board! Ewa has developed a lovely relationship with our daughter, who despite grumbling about extra work, actually looks forward to their sessions. There is lots of fun and laughter at the sessions which is great to hear, especially when we know this accompanied lots of learning! Ewa is dedicated and we were astounded by the time and thought she put into communication with us.

Helen from SENsational Tutors is amazing. She has a remarkable ability to connect with young people who have become disillusioned by the education system and feel let down by it. Helen is not only professional but also deeply passionate about helping children rediscover their potential, guiding them to thrive once again. Since Helen began tutoring our daughter, the transformation has been nothing short of amazing. Our daughter had struggled in three mainstream schools and was completely burned out, resistant to any form of educational support. Helen took the time to understand Florence's needs and interests, gradually building trust and rapport. She quickly discovered that Florence is a huge "Swiftie," and used this interest as the foundation for a creative, multidisciplinary project. Together, they built a 3D stage, blending subjects in a way that truly captured Florence's imagination. Helen employs a variety of strategies tailored to Florence's specific learning needs, removing barriers to her learning wherever possible. Thanks to this thoughtful approach, Florence has re-engaged with education, and her passion for learning has been reignited. She’s now writing extensively—something she once resisted due to her dysgraphia—and is pursuing subjects she loves with renewed enthusiasm. In fact, she’s even developed an interest in marine biology! Most importantly, I can see that Florence is not only excelling academically but is also happy, confident, and proud of who she is.

My son has been having weekly tuition for English and Maths with John for about 8 months. My son is in year 10 and has ADHD. Unfortunately, his experience of the school system was not a positive one, which led us to take the decision to homeschool. John has made a real difference to my son’s attitude to learning and has helped restore some of the trust my son was lacking in the education system. Direct quote from my son: ‘I’ve learned more with John in a few months than I have in the last 3 years at school’.

I would highly recommend Helen from SENsational Tutors. She is an expert at connecting and empathising with young people who have become disillusioned and let down by the education system. Likewise, she is professional and passionate about bringing the absolute best out of children, enabling them to shine once more. Ever since SENsational Tutors sent Helen to tutor our daughter, we've noticed magical results. Our daughter was failed by three mainstream schools and Helen joined us at the point where she was completely burnt out and resistant to any form of educational intervention. Helen took her time to get to know Florence, to see what her interests were and to gently build trust. She discovered that our girl is a 'Swiftie' and embarked on a multidisciplinary project incorporating a range of subjects to engage her, with a 3D stage that they built at the end of the unit. She employs a range of strategies to support Florence's specific learning needs and find ways to ensure she has little to no barriers to learning. Our school refuser has reengaged with education and her love of learning has returned - she's even keen to work when Helen's not present; she's writing reams and reams when due to her dysgraphia, previously she refused to write at all; she has reconnected with subjects she's passionate about and is now keen to be a marine biologist. She reads for pleasure and most significantly, I feel our daughter is happy and proud to be herself.

I discovered Sensational Tutors when doing desk research to find support our son Hugo (9), who has ADHD and dyslexia and struggles in the classroom. There are a range of tutors available across different parts of London, we chose Ayanna because of the positive reviews from parents of boys of a similar age. I have to say she's been phenomenal with Hugo, who is hyperactive and struggles with focus and learning, and whose self esteem is affected by comparing academic progress with other kids at school. First Ayanna won his trust, friendship and respect, then she set about identifying the key areas he needed support. Hard to believe, but she has made learning so fun and so effective, that Hugo actually looks forward to the sessions. Ayanna is passionate about what she does and has made a real difference to Hugo. Couldn't recommend her enough to any parents of boys of a similar age with similar challenges. Thank you Ayanna and Sensational Tutors!

Helen has been a brilliant tutor for us. My son is autistic with a PDA profile and suspected dyspraxia. When I first spoke to Helen I explained what my son needed. The most important things for us were finding someone (very) patient and flexible. Helen said she could do that and I feel 100% she has been both these things. Helen has a caring approach and she has continued to learn about my son’s needs along the way. Helen has reflected on and adapted how she does things as soon as any challenges arise. Helen has many strategy ideas for the tuition sessions and she will spend time outside of the sessions researching new approaches and activities. Helen provides a completely bespoke education for my son. The sessions are fun and interesting. Helen is able to pick up on early signs of emotional dysregulation and immediately change the level of demand, offer a break or use a range of other strategies that are individual to my son. Helen has worked with our OT to incorporate fine motor skill activities in tuition sessions, while bringing many of her own ideas. Helen has been able to engage my son with touch typing, something he has previously not wanted to do. Helen supported us at my son’s EHCP annual review meeting, attending and being the main contributor to the meeting and writing a thorough and accurate report in advance of this. After over a year out of school and school trauma Helen has been able to re-engage my son with learning. I am very grateful to her for this. I would highly recommend Helen as a tutor.

Sensational tutors matched us with Amanda over a year ago now as we were looking for a private tutor to support our Autistic/PDA daughter. When Amanda started our daughter had experienced severe school trauma and Autistic burnout and had lost all trust in adults. She barely left her room and could not engage in any other activity besides watching TV. When Amanda first agreed to work with Elsie I was at the point where I really thought no professional would be able to meet her complex needs and all provision would fail. How wrong I was! Amanda was the first professional I'd met that just 'got' PDA. She was willing to work with Elsie at her own pace and always focuses on the mental health of my daughter as the most important foundation to her learning. Amanda is extremely knowledgeable and has years of experience working with SEN children but it is also her authenticity, her empathy and her calm presence plus her lived experience as an Autistic adult supporting Autistic children herself which truly makes her one of a kind. I feel so lucky to have her supporting us as she really has changed our lives, supporting not only Elsie but our entire family. We would be lost without her. Thank you Amanda for all you do. xx

Really pleased with my son’s tutor Kelly she has been wonderful over the past 13 months. My son has, and continues to, cover a range of subjects with her. Really pleased with his progress and will also be undertaking his GCSE’s thanks to her help.

We are grateful for Jessica’s hard work, patience, determination and passion. Jessica has great communication skills and was very flexible. She was very eager and joyful, passionate about my son understanding the content and patient when he struggled. She supported, strengthened and encouraged him not only in terms of his education but also through his medical treatment. Jessica was vital in the success of my son's exams, her patience and ability to help him understand was crucial. Jessica was truly a blessing

I recommend Francessca as an excellent tutor. She has been patient and professional in her approach ensuring the sessions were varied and interesting and met my son’s individual requirements. Francessca has explained concepts using clear, understandable and interactive methods. Her communication and organization has been fantastic since the start.
