Good value for money saw
Just bought a second hand Mitox 268LRH. Very low use, belonged to a retired guy who just used it on his own hedge. It ran nicely but died after about 20 minutes and wouldn't restart. Good spark, probably blocked filter, carb or bad diaphram. So I went to the Mitox website to order a carb kit. What a useless site. No support, no manuals, no parts list, no online ordering. Just links to local suppliers who, you guessed, have no support, no manual, no online ordering. I found aftermarket parts online, it will be serviced and put on ebay. I will never buy another Mitox item again. Back up and easy parts ordering are a basic requirement, Mitox cant manage even that simple, basic task.
Absolute Junk! We bought a new Mitox Strimmer in lockdown October 2020. I would not touch Mitox again EVER! After relatively little use, it broke down in July this year and is unrepairable. We used the correct fuel mix with Ethanol Shield 2 stroke oil, Mitox seem state that in order for their tools to work, a particular type of unleaded petrol is required for the mix, not the usual that most other 2 stroke engines run happily on?? We were told by a repair mechanic that a component in the carburettor had been loose and had been allowing air to leak in resulting in a destroyed engine. I had noticed other external parts loose also. I am very angry as this machine is barely 18 months old and not used very much and from what I see of other reviews on this site about loose parts and machinery only lasting a short time, customers would be wise to avoid this make and opt for better quality equipment. I am a professional gardener and have learned my lesson. I have a Husqvarner strimmer that is at least 10 years old has had a hell of a lot more use and is still going strong with no problems, simply no comparison. AVOID MITOX they may be cheaper to buy but pure junk!
I purchased the Mitox 28mt multi tool 7years ago It was great for the first 2years, but ever since then it only works when it wants..poor running, failing to start, cuts out at full throttle, dies & won't restart. I am sick of the crappy motor. The tools are great if I can ever use them. Its been in to the repair shop so many times I feel that it's my 2nd home. Never going to get a Mitox again.
Mitox 515 CSX. I have owned this saw for over a year and felled numerous trees with it. It can best be described as superb, well engineered, reliable and well built. I also own Echo, Husqvarna and Dolmar saws. The Mitox is up there with the best but has a better warranty, just ace. I have had a Mitox long reach hedge trimmer for six years, never missed a beat, great value for money.
Mitox 288 bv leaf blower/ vac. Absolute junk! I bought it 2 years ago, after first use it wouldn't start, it went to local mitox agent who adjusted carb under warranty and warned me to be careful with mix and old fuel.... Went to use it this year, new fuel, correct mix and it started but wouldnt rev. I managed to adjust the carb jet screw ( its not a screw in the true sence, its a special tool required but you can nudge it round with a small screw driver) got it running and reving but tube to bag clogged, so turned it off and it hasnt started since!!! Beside all this, the figment of the tubes is awkward, really tight and difficult to change between blow and vac. I certainly will not be buying mitox again.
An excellent online experience, followed up with quick delivery. My purchase arrived carefully packed, and was exactly what I'd ordered. There were no complications with the order, so can't really comment on that side of things.
Mitox 460UVX BrushCutter This machine is a quality, powerful piece of kit. Both my neighbours have very expensive Stihl cutters (price x2) and this is easily as good. The service from the importer AL-KO is also excellent and they hold a good stock of spares. When I recently needed a part it literally arrived the next day. The 460UVX is highly recommended if you need a decent multipurpose machine and you don't want to pay silly money.
Have the petrol strimmer and leaf blower, both are underpowered for even light jobs and both take ages to warm up to even be able to use them, i would never use this company again for anything.
Good service had a parts issue it was rectified in 24 hours cant ask for more Machine seems to be up for the job
A very good bit of kit. Runs well and cuts like a knife through butter. Extraordinary growth on hedges this year, much more than would be the norm due to a very wet & warm summer, but not a problem for the new trimmer.
Not received item yet and it was 1 day delivery- ordered Thursday last week still no sign 7 days later!
Dealt with Mitox direct. Someone in sales and marketing. Extremely helpful. The long reach chain saw has arrived and the quality looks very good for the price.
Super speedy delivery, brilliant product. Pleasure doing business with you.
Ordered an extension for my multitool and received it the following morning, carriage free, very happy thank you.
I have had this MITOX 281 for a few years. It has never worked to my satisfaction, never seems to function at full power, is very difficult to start, leaks fuel constantly and, as others describe, parts tend to fall off regularly. I would not buy another and would say that I would have saved time in the long run doing all the work manually.
Speedy delivery and excellent follow up customer service.
I have used this machine for approx 2 hours when I noticed a burning smell. It turns out that the screws which hold the housing over the exhaust had come loose and as a result the plastic had started to melt. After having tightened the screws I left the machine to rest. It worked fine for about another hour and then it started to splutter. It has not returned to good working order. I bought this machine because a friend of mine has one and he lent his to me and it was fine but this one is a disappointment. Sorry I have nothing positive to say. Jim Graham.
Mitton chainsaw , very poor 😢, definitely would not recommend them simple as that , might as well chuck money down the drain.
Ok..so far..not used alot yet
