On the 13th of April a gas safety check was carried out at a property in London SE6. The gas certificate has failed, the engineer has advised that to contact Cadent Gas on 0800 389 8000 for them to locate and stop the gas leak. I sent an engineer to the property an hour later. The engineer that was sent was confident that there is NO gas leak after a thorough check. He also issued a safety certificate. I complained to the company and I got a response with fulse infromation and refuse to refund me the money that I have paid up front. Here is the responce that I got from the company; 'I apologise that you had a bad experience with the service you requested. We have investigated the issue with the engineer and also checked all the photos and notes he made on the job diary the same day he attended your property. As per our investigation, it was clear that the engineer detected a leak while carrying out the inspection and he mentioned you that he has to follow the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure (GIUSP) and put a warning sign on the gas appliance to make it safe. He went to get the warning sign and when returned back to your property you already had another engineer from a different company doing your inspection. The other engineer also confirmed that there was an issue with gas valve inside the boiler. Our engineer was there just to do the gas safety inspection and further diagnosing the fault was not his job as he mentioned that is the reason he had to put the warning sign. All our engineers are qualified and they need to follow the procedures to keep everyone safe. As per our investigation, we won't be able to offer you any refund.' The investigation that the company did has a fulse infromation! First the engineer that detected wrongly the gas leak never came back to the property! Secondly the engineer the detected the wrong leak clearly wasn't able to handle the gas boiler and it related gas valve inside the boiler. Not only the engineer that was sent turn off the gas supply without any reason the company also refuse to refund me the money that I paid up front.

I needed the Gas safety Certificate urgently before tenants moved in. They arranged the inspection on the same day and got the certificate within 24 hours. Very good service. Anyway I have been using them for a long time!
I have used Landlord Safety Certificate a few times, and there is always a delay in actually sending out the certificate - so I usually have to follow up by email or phone to receive it. Yet they are very efficient and proactive in chasing for payment! On this occasion they also cancelled the original appointment the day before, due to resource issues, and then rebooked.

I needed a fire alarm certificate. Service was excellent - I booked online and got a particular slot convenient for me. I had a text message the night before confirming my slot, and the engineer called on the day telling me when he would arrive - and he did - bang on time! He was polite, courteous, and also very efficient. The certificate arrived by email within 24 hours. A great experience, I would definitely use again.
