Most of the info is available free on genealogy sites, bar newspapers. The do have thousands of records but you have to trawl through them even if you supply all search info….

They charge you on the last day of your free trial not the day after. I did call and they have said they will refund me. I will update my review if I receive a refund.

Due to a technical hitch, I was unable to access records I had paid to see. (Not cheap) Guided by support, after many frustrating attempts and many emails and a significant time difference, it finally worked! Yay! I asked for FMP to consider compensating my subscription for the down time and the inconvenience. The most generous offer they could pass on to me was three days added to my subscription. I have cancelled my subscription at the end of its term, plus 3 days…! Having owned businesses before, if a customer had ever been inconvenienced, we would bend over backwards to ensure they knew, they were a valued customer. Not feeling it in this case.

I was amazed at how quickly parts of my family appeared,

Reasonable cost. Not for people who want it quickly as it takes a few weeks to process.

A great source of data, but very limited as a genealogical application.

Ability to access information is more user friendly than some sites. Access to 1921 census very useful. Comparisons to other member trees is easy to check information already gained. Hints percentage checks are also a good guide to information.

Got to know some of my ancestors, but couldn’t go back beyond grand parents.

I loved the amount of records I found for my ancestors. Having used two other websites for my trees I attempted to put a tree on Findmypast, this I found quite difficult.

Easy to use, pity it’s so expensive

Searching documents is great, but it seems to be limited to UK and Ireland. I build my tree on MyHeritage, which is catching up for document availability in Europe, and I perform my searches for French documents on Geneanet. But hint management is far better implemented on MyHeritage and adopted children parents are not taken into account in the family tree.

The information i had collected was available even though I hadnt been on the site for quite some time, so it was great to carry on without having to double check etc.

I am really happy to get access to the 1921 census at last so much information to get onto my family tree and I have loved looking at the newspaper reports. Sadly prices are high and short bursts are all I will be able to afford in future but that at least gives me a break from burning the midnight oil. Slightly disappointed with the parish register coverage which, seems to me, to be better on Ancestry. Swings and roundabouts really but membership offers are definitely better on Ancestry.

Confusing and cluttered. I took out a weeks trial and, of course, they don’t warn you when it’s about to end so I have now paid £60. My fault because I never normally sign up to these ‘trial’ periods but it’s still a shoddy practice which reflects badly on the companies who do it

Correcting mistakes is very difficult it wants to link wives as mothers then you cannot correct it even deleting tree doesn't seem to work.

Paid for 12m , got 3m apparently he price on website was incorrect and they wouldn’t honour published price

The search function does not appear to be clear - or it may be just me.
