I am new to the site. I have a lot to learn and looking forward to learning.
Really easy to use
Coming to Find My Past, from many years on Ancestry, I have found a wealth of additional and very useful information about my family history
Looking at newspapers and finding out facts of my ancestors which put meat on the bones so to speak. My great grandfather was a genial man who was captain of Bath Cricket club. I never knew him or his daughter my grandmother.
There was a problem cancelling subscription. Money was refunded immediately. Great service.
Everything I want is in one place. It's good value. Kept me sane during the pandemic. The only thing I don't like are the hints. I've never had a useful one. You need to fine tune your hints to make them useful.
It can be hard to look things up, and find myself going round in circles to look for things, I would like to find information on my dads service history during the 1939 - 1945 British airforce stationed in Yorkshire the 443 porcupine squadron, I need a little help how to go about this!?.
Great site very easy to use and also I found it had excellent records that maybe you can’t find on other sites
I like the one month membership option! Also the 1921 census is available which is good for getting the most recent family history details. I like the special offers that come up now and again, it can be an expensive hobby so these offers are particularly welcome.
They have a phone line dedicated for the customer. I phoned and had my queries dealt with immediately. The phone was also answered immediately.
I like the way you get offered hints as you build your tree. They need cross-referencing and checking but it’s really helpful. I would pay for ad hoc access again. My bugbears are that if you buy the basic package, you can get most of the info on Family Search or Free BMD and as far as I can see, where I have paid for records a few years in the past I now can’t access them which seems a bit unfair if I have paid to see them.
Over 6000 hints will easily keep me busy for the next three months!
I've just started using this company. It seems pretty good. But I am finding it difficult to enter information like second names and maiden names
Answered my query very promptly, good service.
Slow and at times unresponsive and many of my ancestors regardless male or female I was asked their gender. Also when adding information on someone then trying to get back to my tree it kept going back to me then having to back through my ancestral line to add more. Very annoying.
Cannot see original census documents or certificates. Too much extra expense. It's all about getting money all the time. Ancestry.com was much better before you got the rights to the census. Rubbish really.
Fantastic website very user friendly
Made it a lot easier to navigate my search and organise a family line, very helpful !
When searching it keeps going into error, sometimes freezes and the only way to get it back is to shut it down. Very frustrating.
this is definitely my favourite family tree maker BUT, the one thing that GRINDS MY GEARS is that no one ever does a full tree. i cant see everyone included unless i click onto a certain focus person, it’s frustrating. that’s the whole point of doing a family tree. i also had trouble with it not allowing me to add certain family members to a person already on my tree, if that makes sense.
