Ordered DJI Mavic in October, got an email in December saying don't call on your shipment because we are behind from DJI delays. So I didn't call and continued to wait. In January I was a bit nervous about my order since the credit card was charged in October $1,440.00. Checked online reviews which had been good until December and have been all negative since. Tried to call several times and there is no answer, just a message to send inquiries through email. So I sent an email asking if you can't update me or complete the order, finally send a refund. They did refund it the next day. After all this it turns out they had shipped it January 6th and was scheduled to deliver January 10th. They recalled the package. Oh well, so much for customer service. I will eventually reorder this through another company that actually has them in stock and can answer a phone. I just wanted to share my experience. Nothing fraudulent on either site. Just misunderstanding and in my opinion poor customer service.
I ordered a 2,500$ drone over 2 months ago. I have tried to contact them 6 times in the last week alone and not one return call or email. I emailed again to cancel the order but im convinced no one is reading them anyways. Ill give it a few days before i contact paypal to file a complaint.
I hesitated to write this because I know that businesses are slammed, especially tech ones, after Christmas because of the high sales volume and incoming questions and need for technical support. My experience from Dec. 8 until delivery on Dec. 21 was outstanding. I had quick return emails, shipping updates, and received the $2600 product I purchased (Phantom 4 with Executive 2.0 bundle, plus updated firmware, GPS, and one year accident insurance) in time to give it to my husband as a gift. I was EXTREMELY pleased with the quality of the product and my experience so far. Then, after Christmas, it all seemed to fall apart. I have left at least 5 emails, four voicemails (3 in sales and 1 in technical support), and NOTHING!! And, I have even told them I am pleased with the drone and all of the accessories, but I just have two very simple questions about exchanging or upgrading something. I am very disappointed in thinking that they are in the mindset that "now we have your money, so we are not even worried about you anymore." Very poor customer service after purchase made. Makes me wonder how hard it would be to actually get service on the insurance plan that I purchased if I needed it. I ALWAYS research companies before I buy, and I extensively researched Drone-World who had great reviews...up until recently. What has happened??? Someone, PLEASE call me back or email me back with the answer to my simple questions!! I will gladly update this to be more positive if I finally get some resolution. Two simple questions about an exchange / upgrade...that is all I am asking. UPDATE: No sooner had I published this review, I received an email from Brendan at Drone-World apologizing for the delay in responding. He asked for a good number to reach me and would call me today (even though I have left the number on numerous occasions). I am sure that this first review had nothing to do with them reaching out to me...it was almost simultaneous. I will keep the audience posted as to the outcome of this request and possibly change the star rating if necessary. Fingers crossed. UPDATE. Brendan was great to work with. Our new remote and sunshade are out for delivery and it appears that everything is going to be fine. I changed my rating to 4 stars (not 5 because of all the grief I had to go through to finally get a response). Through email and even phone calls, I believe my issue has been satisfactorily resolved.
Drone-World.Com and their staff are AMAZING at marketing. They say all of the right things like "Why Choose Us?" "We're #1 in Customer Service. Fast & Free Shipping. Over 10 years in the industry!" In fact, they spend more time updating their website during the holiday season, than they do returning phone calls and emails of paid customers trying to get a hold of them! Nothing feels better than sending a company over $2000 to get the cold shoulder and see new banners pop up on the website saying "FAST & FREE SHIPPING!" "#1 in customer support!" Here's the long and skinny of how they operate. They overprice a drone kit for you. As a consumer you think you're getting a great deal, a package that will get you on your feet and flying, and you'll have a purchased that bird from an upstanding company who will give you product support when needed, etc. Well, the reality is, is that they really are overpriced, communication is worse than poor, IF you do get a hold of them an ask for re-assurances, the salesman will treat you like you're wasting his time, and that they did nothing wrong. No re-assurances given, no apologies or accountabilities. This company's business model focuses of sales volume. Drone-World.com is quick to run your credit card, and run from post sales questions, support, and shipping duties. Anyone looking to work with this company should do further searching, only to find out that they promise items are in stock with fast shipping -- and you're likely on a 3-4 week waiting list. They do not go out of their way to alert you that you will be waiting. They simply ignore your phone calls and emails until the time is elapsed and send you your partial order. Think before your purchase with these guys! For a company that has supposedly been around for 10 years, they sure seems like a fly by night outfit. I'd be glad to post invoices to prove my purchase. These guys are insane, and don't care about your satisfaction or appreciate your money. Take it somewhere that does! Update 1/10/17: A manager from Drone World finally contacted me. I expressed my concerns about their advertising vs post-sales support and reassuring waiting customers. While they claim to be a small business, I still think DW took a "get it while the gettin's good" approach, knowing that they'd bank off of the holiday season, and made a conscious decision to focus on new sales vs "impatient customers". However, this is just my theory. The person who reached out to me was polite and understanding, and made sure my order got to me safely. I had written a letter to DW stating my frustration and disappointment just after my original review was posted, with a final plea to get my order sent out by the end of the week. DW was kind enough to upgrade the shipping to over night delivery. It was somewhat unfortunate that the package was sent out on a Friday at 6PM after the business week cut off, but it made it in by Monday morning. But I am very happy to be flying, and just within the original order fulfillment deadline. DW may be understaffed and unresponsive, but it does seem like management is making reasonable efforts to make things right, and meet fulfillment promises. It's just too bad that customer service cases have to be escalated to management, and that they pride themselves on the quality of their customer service. This company has a ton of potential, but it's a pity that they've seemingly chosen to focus on more sales than re-affirming their commitment to customer service and post-sales contact, during a time that it meant the most. First impressions are everything. I've raised my rating from a 1 star to 3 since they upgraded my shipping to over night for free, and the order made it on time with nothing missing or broken. However, post-sales communications, inability to modify or add to order during the waiting period due to inability to contact sales or support make you weary about who you just spent thousands of dollars with. Glad I didn't get the pricey extended warranty from them.
Ordered a $3500 dollar package in November and still cant even get a return email. Thank got i used AMEX hopefully they will take care of me. all i wanted was a email saying yes we have your order and were working on it.
DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY. I ordered my $1500 drone in mid October . Its now January 1st. Every month they push back the date. I've sent them 4 emails that have all been ignored. I've called only to get an answering machine . Left messages with no return call. My money was taken out of my account in October and I'm still waiting. I can understand production and shipping delays however the lack of customer service from Drone World has been astounding. Save yourself the trouble. Order Direct and get your accessories from Amazon.
Ordered 4 drones and a extra battery. Had to change ship address. Can't get anyone to respond or reply to emails. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Now I am seeing it maybe 4 to 6 weeks, they don't say anything about this on there website. I
I ordered a new Phantom 4 Pro+ from drone world over a month ago. They charged my card and after a week I emailed them for an update to my order. Online my order status just says processing. I received a response to my first email stating the Pro+ models would be shipped within 2-3 weeks and to check back next week for an update. The following week I tried calling but their phone system just hung up on me continuously. I emailed them again but never received a reply. Another week passed and again I tried emailing and calling. No response. Week four was the same and now we are getting into week 5. I'm already out $2500 and cannot even get a response to try to get a refund. Apparently replying to emails is too much for them. Long story short. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DRONE WORLD!
I ordered a drone on December 5th as a Christmas gift and paid extra for overnight shipping. the lead time stated 2-3 weeks but it is now Dec 28th and no drone. I have called and left messages, Sent emails with no reply. What is happening? I would just like to know I did not get ripped off.
On 12/21 I placed a $436.00 order with $50.00 UPS overnight delivery. Have not received it yet. Made several calls and they are always assisting other customers, left several messages, several e-mails and messaged them on Facebook. No one has responded yet! Come on Man! Say Something!
My wife ordered a Phantom 4 Pro for $1800 as a Christmas present on December 3rd 2016. The order was billed to my credit card and she was sent an order number. On the 15th she hadn't heard anything, no shipping, no delay, no nothing from this company and started calling daily for a week and emailing them. Her emails were returned undeliverable. None of her calls were returned. It is now the 24th and still nothing. They have my money but no product. At this point I can only believe this company is a sham designed to rip off the consumer. I have contacted my credit company and filed a grievance to get my money returned. I wouldn't recommend this company to Putin or my worst enemy. Beware purchasing from this company Don McClelland MTCS(SS)(Ret) Added 31 Dec 2016. - Finally got my chargeback. It took numerous email with Keri Campbell their Sales Manager. I was also called back by a guy named Alec on Monday 26 Dec, who tried to offer next day free shipping if I stopped my dispute with my credit card company. When I declined he told me that my refund would be processed within the hour. Unfortunately, Keri finally got it processed Friday the 30t, after numerous emails directly to her. Not what I'd call a responsible company with reasonable customer service.
This company states they have great customer service, WRONG. I placed an order that was to get to me by Christmas. NO EMAIL THAT IT SHIPPED. NO EMAIL REPLY TO 2 EMAILS ON STATUS. I will be contacting my credit card company to charge back the $3400 the took and now they won't contact me back. All the excuses I see on other complaints are a joke. So if I even ever get what I ordered what if I have an issue I can't get in touch with them. NOTE TO SELF: NEVER BUY FROM A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONE!
I ordered an item on 12/17/16 and have yet to receive it or ant notification of order status. I paid the additional $35 for UPS 2nd Day Air. I have place numerous phone calls to them and sent 2 emails! When I called the company, I was only able to leave a voice message. They have already received payment in full! I think this transaction will be turning into as dispute. Frustrated in Minnesota
Order from anywhere but drone world. I ordered a drone December 5th and it won't make it here by Christmas, but they made sure they got their money by December 5th. In response on December there was no such statement on Dec 5.
Fast, and would buy from them again
We own a wedding business and I have purchased two drones from Drone World. The ordering process was quick and easy – great company for sales efficiency and price. One of our drones crashed during a wedding and was making a grinding sound. We had three weddings the following weekend and needed the drone to be in working order. I called all the local companies listed in our area and they all said the same thing, we don’t have the parts and cannot guarantee the time. Called a company in Florida, they said they could replace the whole gimbal unit but could not repair it and the cost was $398 plus shipping of $160 and extra $150 rush charge. By that time Drone World was opened and I called them. Drone World (three-hour time difference) I was disappointed that I had to leave a message but I left a message and sent an email. Within an hour someone had emailed me and called me back. They appointed one staff person to take care of me and his name was Alec. He assured me that they could have it fixed and back to me in four days. The only extra charge was for my overnight shipping. They kept in contact every step of the way. True to their word, they had it fixed and ready to go within one business day and the cost of the repair was $150. They overnighted back to me at their cost to make sure we had it for our weddings. I will always use them for my repairs and would recommend anyone to do so. They are professional, prompt and my problem was important to them. Thank you Alec and thank you Drone World – we now have two happy brides who will have Drone footage at their wedding.
Received great help and advice in the purchase of a DJI Phantom drone from Drone World. The service and recommendation was top notch.
