It was all lovely food - it just was a very very long process to make all of it, would have preferred it to be less complex and lengthy, but great company quick service

It was lovely! The instructions were good, the ingredients were brilliant quality. Such good value. Would absolutely recommend and we will definitely order from them again.

We have had two deliveries so far and whilst the food has been delicious we have been slightly disappointed by a few items being small portions. At £150 for 3 meals we feel it’s been pretty expensive for what you get. The first meal was Chateaubriand. The meat portion was fine for two but for 3 as it stated I wouldn’t say it was enough as you only got one tiny sweet potato with it! Second was the paella generous on veg but small portion of chicken. We’ve had to buy extras for both meals. We are greed eaters so so far for the cost we could buy high end ingredients at our farm shop for much less. Let’s see what the last meal brings!

Meat and sweet potatoes fantastic as expected. Not 5 stars because the bearnaise was too tricky for an amateur to make from scratch. I used quality hollandaise from a jar and made the bearnaise from that. I think this may be a better option?

We ordered the Malaysian street market menu. It was delicious. The ingredients were of excellent quality and the menu was straightforward to prepare. Highly recommended. Thank you Cookaway.

So disappointed with this purchase that arrived today. Probably my fault that I didn't realise it was a "DIY Kit". I could have purchased the same quality ingredients from one of my local farm shops or popped into M&S and purchased the equivalent for a fraction of the cost. I did not want to spend hours prepping a special meal for my partners birthday, hence the purchase. I tried to calling Cookaway on 19/09/2024 as I had another query but their voicemail was full and suggested I send an email, but that stated they would respond within 48 hours and that would have been too late to place my order.

I ordered the Malaysian laksa meal, which was billed as Ping’s laksa. It was a real disappointment. The quantities in the recipe were questionable (the laksa was originally very watery) but more importantly it was just a commercially available jar of laksa sauce which was flavourless and not really anything like a good laksa paste. For the price it was totally poor quality, I thought. Never going Cookaway again. EDIT: I can’t reply to Sahil directly here so I’m editing my comment instead. Thank you Sahil for your reply. However it is very misleading. I was clear in my correspondence with your team that the first time I ordered the product it was for a friend and I never tried it or even heard from her how it was. It was a gift for someone else and I only ordered the laksa for myself months later because your team gave me a free £10 voucher. If your assertion is true that the taste is similar between the laksa sauces then I would have been extremely disappointed either way. The dish is marketed as Ping’s laksa but the description is not clear that it’s just a supermarket sauce. I have spent a lot of time in Singapore and Malaysia and I can assert truthfully that this is not an authentic laksa and is a very poor imitation at best. My Singaporean wife had to tinker a lot with the recipe to get it to even taste a bit nice. I am not asking for money here. I gave up on the full refund request when your team said no. What I am doing is making my view on the poor quality of your product and your misleading marketing clear publicly. I feel that your response to this message is basically gaslighting me to minimise the risk to your company. Thanks and no thanks.

I ordered masterchef winner Irini’s chicken pastitsada and grilled manouri salad box. Although the recipe is not gluten free the Cookaway were able to tailor this to my dietary requirements so I didn’t miss out on its deliciousness! This is such a bonus for me as I know my dietary needs will always be looked after at the cookaway. What can I say about the recipes, these are absolute winners and matched with the quality ingredients in the cookaway box was a perfect no stress meal for Friday night. The chicken along with irinis special spice paste served along with gluten free pasta for me packs a super satisfying tasty punch. The salad is a perfect match and love the cheese and with the crunch of the walnuts. The dressing for the salad elevating it to the next level. I can definately recommend this box to anyone who is thinking of trying it out.

Great Kit and quality ingredients. Most of the recipe was easy to follow but for some reason, the cooking time for the Boulangère potatoes took way longer than it said and I couldn't get to look right. But at least they tasted good. It might be user error or my oven, not sure but the suggested cooking time was too low. Other than that, it was an excellent meal.

Excellent product

Received the Greek Mezedes experience as a gift. Well presented documentation and recipes from Masterchef winner Irini Tzortzoglou who was born on Crete close to where we have a house. Comprehensive, good quality ingredients which produced excellent dishes …

I very rarely write reviews but this was exceptional! Delivered on time, beautifully packaged (for raw food!) easy to follow instructions and what a smashing meal. We did the Greek Meze and divided up the cooking between my husband and I. Playlist was a nice touch and we were both astounded at what we managed to create. Prawns in particular were some of the best I've ever had. Super impressed and will order again

Have used this 4 times in the past year specifically because of the high quality food you can made from these sets. It's a little tricky to follow if you have no experience whatsoever, but it's well worth the effort. I will definitely be recommending this service and I will be using it myself again in the future.

We received a Cookaway voucher as a wedding gift, and ordered the Pakistani Street Food Experience and the Malaysian Crispy Chilli Beef. We had great fun prepping and cooking the Pakistani Street Food together while listening to the accompanying Spotify playlist, and the end result was a delicious meal which exceeded our expectations. We will be cooking the Chilli Beef this evening and we're already looking forward to our next Cookaway date-night purchase.

Excellent choice of menus. Great quality and Value for money. Ordered on a Wednesday, delivered to East of Scotland Friday in perfect condition. Recipes are very easy to follow. Have ordered 3 times now. Brilliant

"Aged Chateaubriand" Got this as a birthday gift. Very impressed with the quality ingredients and the straightforward easy to follow recipe. Would happily recommend to others and will buy other recipes 😀

I cooked our second Cookaway meal, the Indian Dhaba Chicken. The recipe was easy to follow and the flavours were terrific. My husband and I both love cooking from scratch and these boxes, including all the ingredients no matter how tiny, make it so easy. If I was having people round for dinner, I would make this dish the night before as I think the flavours would have concentrated more and it would make for a more relaxing evening. Spanish dish next week!
