I ordered several Cookaway meals for friends and relatives for Christmas presents. The one hitch was rectified promptly. I think I should order one for myself after being so generous! Very helpful people. Would recommend.

We have bought from Cookaway twice. Both experiences proved quite challenging but the results made the effort well worthwhile. What we learnt from both is that this is a culinary 'exercise' where you can learn new and exciting recipes. But it is no easy meal 'fix'. Like all recipes that are new, you need to plan, and heed the advice about how long preparation and cooking will take. The great thing is that you will have all the ingredients you need to hand and will have avoided trepassing around the supermarket looking for those you don't have. We were too ambitious in our selection of dishes and our ability to prepare them fairly quickly, for - on both occasions - more than 12 people. So our advice to newcomers would be to be conservative in terms of selecting dishes, in terms of their relative complexity, time needed for preparation and the number of different dishes to be served.

As advised on the site, we ordered a meal to arrive on the 30th December, ready for our special New Years Eve celebration. The package did not arrive in the given times slot, and I spent a lot of time both on the 30th and then the 31st, calling bith Cookaway & DPD. By late on the 31st, we decided we had to drive to the nearest town to get ourselves something for dinner. The supermarket was packed and the shelves empty. To make up for our meal never arriving, we have been offered £5, and 15% off our next order. This 15% is available to anyone anyway. We understand that DPD is to blame but it should be Cookaway who takes this up with them and it’s not our fault. We feel £5 is an insulting amount to make up for a ruined New Year’s Eve meal.
The quality of the products was very good and the recipe was clear and concise. There were quite a lot of store cupboard ingredients included that I already had so the ability to select some of the ingredients would be useful. I was sort of left with the feeling that I could have bought the ingredients myself and looked up the recipe.
Love the fact that Cookaway meals deliver clearly and professionally exactly what you expect and need. The dish was delicious - we polished it off.
I keep getting emails asking me to rate Cookaway. I have already done so. You get basic ingredients such as a potato, a head of garlic, and little pots of spices. It is expensive for what you receive, and you have to do all the work yourself - no expertly blended sauces or interesting combinations of unusual herbs and spices - in my experience I could have bought all of the ingredients at the local supermarket. Buy a cookbook instead.

I ordered the beef wellington for our Christmas dinner. Was impressed with the quality of the ingredients supplied and the detailed instructions. Easy to follow and the timing sheet was invaluable as I had never made a wellington before. I knew what to start when so the meal all came to gather on time. The chefs notes and playlist were a nice touch too. It all turned out wonderful and we couldn’t have had a more perfect meal
We enjoyed cooking lovely tasting food from scratch and most of the instructions were really easy to follow. We just came across 1 of the recipe cards that had misleading timings and then it felt a bit of a struggle to get everything ready to serve up together, but as I said before the end result was great tasting food.
We ordered the chicken wellington for Christmas day dinner and we have both agreed it's the best Christmas meal we've ever had. Absolutely delicious. Very generous portion sizes and brilliant quality. We had the beef wellington last Christmas which was delicious but thought we'd go rogue this year with the chicken and we are so glad we did. It was a real treat! All ingredients accounted for, very easy instructions and delivered on the requested day. Brilliant experience!
