Fabulous! When the chateaubriand package arrived i was amazed that absolutely everything in the recipe was included. The recipe cards and guides helped make the trickier bits (sauce) more straightforward and the whole meal was absolutely delicious. I'll happily look at buying these kits as presents for others.

I loved my experience with the Cookaway box. It was so fun to use the box to cook the Katsu Curry and made our night in at home a lot more exciting.

This is the 2nd time we've used them and definitely the last! First time was an utter nightmare - see my other review. Thought we'd give them a second chance and went for a simpler menu - or so we thought. We chose prawn goan curry and from the start again it was unnecessarily complicated. Having to fry things, leave to cool, fry again, put to one side, fry again etc etc. Within minutes we were using lots of bowls dishes etc and must have washed up 3 times so we could carry on. Both of us were cooking but it was still not easy and relaxed and was just too stressful. End result was good but was too spicy for my partner. Nowhere near enough prawns - we had 4 each which were just lost in the sauce. Packaging and ingredients are over the top - plastic pot for 4 peppercorns, one for a couple of cloves etc - far too many ingredients, took 10 mins just to check they were all there - bay leaves were missing. In summary if you have a small kitchen and no dishwasher think again!

Spectacular food. The presentation of everything in the box and the recipe cards is high quality, and the quality of the food was excellent too. We loved our Greek mezze feast and our souvlaki. It really was like having a slice of Greece at home. Such great tastes and recipes

We tried the canapé selection over new year and it was fantastic! Really enjoyed the flavours and useful to have the recipe cards. Would definitely recommend, one of the best online food kits I’ve tried.

We had the remainder of an experience day voucher to use. We looked at the website and decided to select a foodie experience and selected something different for us - a Beef Wellington Cookery experience. Never used the Cookaway company before or made a Beef Wellington. The delivery was on time. The packaging was really good. The majority of which could be recycled. We liked the high quality recipe cards for each element so when one person was doing one part of the prep the other could use a card to prep another part. We did feel that some of the measurements could do with a tweak especially on the pastry. To get the size of pastry suggested we needed to make the pastry thinner. That made us wonder if the 1cm thickness is correct. The same for the duxelle. The 350g cooked mushrooms didn't give the suggested 1cm layer. We also found that the pastry had a use by date of the next day. I know that the meal should be cooked within 48 hrs but thought next day was a bit close. All the other ingredients looked really good. I looked up the butchers and noted the impressive number of awards and the membership of the National Craft Butchers. The meat did look very good. The pancetta lardons were quite chunky so we chopped it into smaller pieces. Also found that as the pancetta was salty that, for our taste, no more salt was required in the cabbage side dish. As to the cooking of the Wellington, we appreciate that all ovens are different, but it took around an extra 20 mins to cook it. We wondered if there was a typo and whether 170 c fan was correct. We used a temperature probe and found we needed the extra time. Also in a recipe book we have, it gave an indication of the internal temperature for rare, medium etc (before resting). It may be useful to include such guidance in the recipe for other cooks. We ended up turning the oven up to 190 fan to finish it. Other recipes we consulted used 200c fan. The resulting Wellington was lovely. The meat was nice and tender. The only really negative thing for us was the pouch of gravy. I am glad that I tried it before putting it on my meal, for us it just did not go with the rest of the meal, so we didn't use it. We also thought it would be helpful to others if Cookaway could give an indication of the confidence/skill level required for each dish on the website. Overall, based on this first delivery it was a very good and fun experience. We would recommend plus another time we will try another meal. Thank you

Overpriced for what it is. One of the ingredients was missing. Takes much longer to prep & cook than suggested, and that was with 2 of us doing it. You're better off spending your money on a good local takeaway.

Had a voucher for virgin experience days and decided to choose Cookaway. Although the food quality was very good, over £40 for a chicken curry is very expensive and had better value for money cook at home dishes from Elsewhere for a much lower price

It was a great experience, they send everything you need even the salt lol. The ingredients are high quality. The only thing that could improve is the unrealistic timing in the recipes. They said that preparing the sweet potato fries would take 5 mins prep, that's how long it took me to just peel the 2 giant sweet potatoes... the whole cooking took 2 hrs, but it was delicious

I bought one of these for of each of my sons and their partners for a Xmas present. There is so many variety menus for them to choose from ( although, I think they both are opting for Greek!) My daughter in law was over the moon as she had been looking at your website prior to Xmas and was thinking about buying. The service beforehand was fantastic. I had a couple of questions and contacted by email. The response was quick and polite. If anyone is stuck on what to buy someone for a gift, definitely try Cookaway. I'm telling all my friends. Will most definitely use again.

I ordered the Beef Wellington kit - it was delivered on time, was well packaged and all super fresh. The ingredients were of excellent quality, the recipe cards and instructions easy to follow. The wellington turned out amazing! I would definitely use Cookaway again in the future.

It was easy to follow, but took longer to cook than the recipe suggested. I had to return it to the oven as the meat wasn't hot enough. It also turned out rather salty, but the meat was beautiful.

Bought this a a Christmas pressie for my son & daughter in law, email was sent on time as promised. This is their feedback. Tasted great, very good quality ingredients. Steak was about an inch thick and was fantastic. The red wine jus was pretty complicated and time consuming and the sliced potato baked thingy was also very yummy!

We received a Greek brunch cookaway voucher for a Christmas present from my sister and we decided to use it for this weekend as a treat for my husbands birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, and huge portions, we couldn’t finish it all so happy to have leftovers! It took a little time to cook it, but nothing was complex and all the ingredients were excellent. Would definitely buy a box again and think it’s a brilliant gift idea for a foodie too.

The food was great. The preparation time in each instance was in reality longer than your estimate. Otherwise nothing to complain about.

Bought the Greek Meze box as a birthday activity for my husband once our son was in bed. We were so impressed! As a meal with multiple dishes the prep and timings could have been so confusing, but the way the instructions were laid out was fantastic, loved the little touch of the Spotify playlist, and the portion sizes were very good (we ordered 2-3 person). I've recommended to a number of friends and we will definitely be ordering again.
