Tried to replace a dead battery on my three years old bike. Its £800!!! You cant use a bike with no battery. So they don't bother to charge you a price of new good electric bike just for the battery. Bear in mind that your new bike will go to trash in 3 years.
I wish I could recommend 50Cycles, I really do! I can certainly recommend Reece Collins who manages the Altrincham store as being very helpful before making my purchase. Also worthy of note is Alex Sharrock who manages their Operations and Warehouse and who provided first class communications about my order(s). However, that's as far as I can go. The overall customer experience (post-sale) has otherwise been sadly lacking. Nearly £7k worth of (2) Cube bikes purchased and what arrived didn't appear to have had more than a cursory glance before despatch. Loose bolts securing the side-stand and front lamp, Di2 cables dangling where they could be fouled by the tyre, lamp cable round the suspension fork where it could be compressed and worst of all the bike frame number didn't match the acompanying box of ancilliaries - most importantly, the battery key! Many phone calls and e-mails over the past seven weeks seeking to have the correct key for my bike delivered and all I'm told is that it's a warranty claim with Cube. Nonsense! I was being fobbed-off over this and I decided to take some alternative action. I discovered that 50Cycles had NOT made any warranty claim via Cube and quite frankly, they couldn't give a flying fig about my issue. I therefore called another Cube dealer (with whom I had no prior contact as a customer) and hey-presto, DPD miraculously arrived with the correct key to my bike within the space of a week. 5-Stars go to Infinity Cycles in Durham for service beyond the call of duty to someone who has never even bought an inner tube from them. 2-Stars only go to 50Cycles for Reece and Alex. The rest of you running this shambles outfit have a hell of a lot to learn about customer service. I'm still waiting for my original battery keys to arrive - lets see how long it takes the original dealer to do it now, when another bike shop can do it for me in the space of a week.
I have just purchased my first e bike from 50 Cycles in Shoreham. What a great experience this was! Charles could not have been more helpful & explained everything in great detail. He was also very patient with my endless questions which resulted in me buying a Kalkhoff Sahel compact i8 which I am very happy with. My wife is still undecided about taking up cycling again after many years but if she does decide to go ahead we will definitely be going back to 50 Cycles in Shoreham.
Over the years we have bought several electric bikes from 50 cycles and always appreciated their sound advice and excellent service.
A good selection of bikes available at the Twickenham branch. The staff were helpful and I purchased a bike. The bike needed to be PDI checked and I waited while this work was carried out, this gave me time to fit the bike rack to the car. At home I noticed that the rear wheel was not aligned and one of the adjustment set screws was not in contact with the spindle. I had to correct this before riding the bike. Perhaps a procedure needs to be put in place where bikes are checked during quiet times and a label attached, stating PDI check actioned. This would avoid carrying out the PDI when customer waiting and also other customers possibly being in the shop causing the worker to be distracted.
Excellent customer service and very informative guidance in helping me buy my first electric bike. The guys where very informative and attentive to my requirements and needs. Highly recommend.
Exceptional service Friendly team Great knowledge of electric bikes
Delivered promptly, as planned and in perfect condition. Contacted support desk with a few set up questions, all answered satisfactorily. Minor problem developed after first test drive, probably due to my misunderstanding of the set up. Again support desk sorted this and sent a replacement bolt by return post. Overall, excellent. This is the second e-Bike I have bought from 50 Cycles, I can thoroughly recommend them.
Very helpful. Responsive to questions and despite TNT messing up the delivery twice followed up promptly. Great bike, great service. Also advised they would help should anything need sorting under warranty so they seem pretty decent.
Bought a Cube Reaction Electric Bike from Loughborough and found the purchase extremely easy. I picked the bike up myself and everything was ready for me. Michael was very helpful in explaining the bike to me and now I am looking forward to riding it this summer. Great looking bike. Thanks for all the help. Alan
I found the experience in the Bristol branch first class when I visited the store in October 17. Has a lot of helpful advice from the sales person. Eventually purchased a Cube Cross Hybrid Race Allroad 500 during the Christmas holiday on line. The bike arrived on January 5th as promised. It was well packaged and no problems. Really pleased with the bike, now done over 100 miles so need to contact Bristol to arrange first service.
Bought a second electric bike on-line, this time for my husband. He is delighted with it & with your service. My bike (bought summer, 2015) was also bought on-line with help & advice from James. Your website is so easy to use & provides lots of information about the cycles available. Thank you!
Very happy with the bike. I initially chose the wrong size and Chloe was extremely helpful and efficient arranging a swap for the right one. Thank you.
The member of staff, Paul, at the Bristol shop could not have been more helpful. He sorted out my bike's problems (after I had crashed at nearly 20mph - ouch!) and before I took the bike away, he made sure I had the seat and handlebar at the right height to make me that bit safer. I'm a bit of a natterer but he showed no sign of impatience and chatted back while he was both adjusting the riding position and making sure my brakes and lights were working perfectly. I was never able to talk and work at the same time but Paul worked speedily and accurately whilst putting up with me droning on! You have another chap working there but I don't know his name (he sounds perhaps German??) and he was also extremely helpful the previous time I took my bike in to be repaired. So please pass on a big thank you to both of them.
I bought a Kalkhoff Integrale i8 over the phone. The 50 cycles representative was excellent, great product knowledge. Although i haven't ridden the bike much it seems just as described and i am looking forward to some longer rides. Thankyou
Great service from the Bristol store
Ordered over the phone on a tues night and bike arrived 9am thurs, what a service. Just adjusted handlebars, fitted pedals, charged battery and away you go. I have the giant road e+1 and it is simply amazing, I rode up an 18% hill with ease and just can’t get over how great it is. Having been diagnosed with rare heart condition I thought my cycling days were over, how wrong could I be. Huge thanks.
I would not hesitate to recommend 50 cycles to anyone, their level of service and aftercare is unsurpassable. The bikes they sell ( I only have experience with Kalkhoff ) are superbly built, and reliable. If you’re thinking about purchasing an E-bike, May I suggest going to your local outlet and book a test ride, you won’t be disappointed
Very helpful and eager to please. The opportunity to test ride the bikes before you buy and the guarantee are particularly attractive.
I ordered the Tasman i8 online and got a phone call the next day to check i was happy with my purchase and to see if i had any questions. Delivery was arranged around me. The Tasman i8 is a really nice ride and i am very happy to be able get out on my bike again. Thanks for all your help 50cycles Team. Jess
