I too took on the 100 GB "Free for life" cold storage account on 3rd August 2018....just a year later, access denied without taking a subscription via yearly payment!? No emails have been sent to me warning of this and I have lost file restore privileges. I see that Zoolz say that they have ended the free accounts to concentrate on their paying subscribers, but then to offer this in the first place was bad planning/management/marketing and would put me off using them in the future. NOTE: To be fair, Zoolz have made contact with me since my original review here and gave me temporary access to my files in order to download. Whilst still annoying that free for life actually only meant a year, their customer service did well. I have therefore amended my rating to 2 stars from the original one.

I'm one of those who subscribed for a 100gb lifetime free account. Now, Zoolz company have deleted all existing free accounts.. What does "lifetime" means? If they don't keep their promises, how can you trust them anymore? Very, Very disappointed Lorenzo

Deleted my free account and therefore my documents without warning or any communication. Fortunately I keep all my documents in more than one place, so I had not lost anything. I would not trust this company with any valuable documents. Edit: nice reply. Apportioning all blame to the customer. Way to go 👍🏻. Take note of how long it took me to reply to your comment - that's because my phone notifies me when I get emails. Just like everyone else. I never said the word 'scam' once. This goes to show your reply to me was a template reply you use. Suggesting that I'm not the only customer to raise this issue.

The customer service is excellent. !! It's the download speed was very very slow. Fix that and you have a good product.

I am migrating from Crashplan as it became too expensive. So I signed up for 1TB of cold storage to run an off-site backup for my home server. Buy default it backs up to AWS in the USA. As an Australian customer I wanted to store my data in AWS Sydney region. I had to contact the Sales team and they helped me to re-sign up to Sydney AWS region. I wish the sign-up process was more transparent and I had the option to select AWS region from the beginning. Now I am getting faster upload speed, up to 18GBytes/hour. The deduplication feature works very well, I ran the initial backup from a different server in a different location with faster network then I re-ran the same dataset backup from the home server. Due to deduplication it doesn’t re-upload the whole dataset. The restore takes a few hours to start, this is expected as the data stored in AWS Glacier. I am OK with this approach as it is my offsite last resort backup copy which I hope never to restore from. Overall I am happy with the product so far, it is a good set of features for a reasonable price.

I have Zoolz free lifetime 100G. Unfortunately few days ago I received note: Zoolz account expired. I didn't receive any information in advance. I have about 80G data stored on Zoolz. My brother is a lawyer and if they do not want me to extend a free lifetime account, I plan to write a suit. You can read consumer rights act 2015, section 50 for breach of contract. Therefore It's a scam. That's why we plan to sue Zoolz through court. Here and in various blogs I will look for clients with similar experience which can contact me via Trustpilot.

I signed up for the zoolz free lifetime 100 GB backup and loved it for a very long time, but just this week I received a notice on my laptop that said my account was expired. I sent a message to customer support to see what happened only to be told: "It's with deep regret that we have been forced into this position to end free accounts." PS they never sent a notification that this was going to happen and now I can't even download my information without paying for it. This is obviously a horribly ran company and I would never spend a penny with them.

The reviews made me install Zoolz, something I was not used to do. May I say I do not regret a thing. Perfect pre sales, execution and after sales issue was mentioned in this app. Friendly user , simple and data saver app. Zoolz on the other hand is a dream back up and safe app. to popular belief has lots to do.  Install with Zoolz and sleep well and safe for all your data....

One of the best backup solutions on the market, user friendly and great value for money, i have been using the solution for almost 4 years and never faced any issues with it. I highly recommend it to any one who is looking for simplicity in use and reliability.

I contacted GCloud after I purchased a newer phone and noticed my photos were not backing up. I filled out their online customer service request form. In less than 24 hours a rep emalied me easy step by step directions how to correct the situation. I followed the steps and immediately my photos were backed up into the GCloud! I was happy! Thank you for your quick response.

This company is not honest with customers. I bought a lifetime plan and first time all was good. But now an uploading speed is slow. VERY VERY slow. I think near 100-200 kbit per second or may be less. So I can't to use it. I found official answer of Zoolz on official Zoolz's (@ZoolzCloud) facebook page: "There are a number of reasons why uploads can vary in speed. If you are using one of our lifetime accounts you may notice this issue persists more than with our monthly/annual subscribers. The reason for this is some lifetime users have been abusing our bandwidth channel. This has led to upload speeds to drop for compliant users. In order to combat this, we have introduced a maintenance plan for only $10 per year. This gives our lifetime account holders access to our premium upload speeds as well as many other benefits." They want more money for service which you already bought. If you're going to buy a lifetime service you highly likely will be frauded by this company

Very bad desktop application. I bought 1Tb (500gb hot/500gb cold). 1) I have 20gb of files in OneDrive folder. To sync these files with cloud storage Onedrive spent 1hour. Zoolz makes backup the same files more than 3 days, and still does it. It can backup a 150kb file more than 1 hour. Seriously? Zoolz company needs to dismiss all developers. 2) Zoolz UI - what is it? I was creating more sightly interface when I was a schoolboy 20 years ago. 3) Processor time - why this app consumes processor more than most crappy antivirus?

You know that feeling: you pay on the spot, and when you see the service is not what you want and decide to ask for a refund, they pass you from one company to another. If you want this experience, go for it! I bought the account from their online store. I paid Friday and I asked for a refund next Monday. You pay through 2Checkout, in five minutes you have the Zoolz account, but to take your money back, I have already spent three days and I assume I will have to spend many more. After several emails and phone calls to both of them, Zoolz looks like is not willing to give refunds and 2Checkout declares solemnly they handle only the secure payment of the merchant, not the refunds. I tend to believe 2Checkout because Zoolz representative seemed very dismissive. However, Zoolz is in the UK and they have to obey the "distance selling" regulations. Be aware: the hook is 5 Tb of cloud space, but it is cold storage(??????). After testing it Saturday, cold storage means that you can upload half of what you want, (40 Gb), and the upload is painfully slow (even with Google fiber). At this rate probably I will not be able to fill the paid 5 Tb quota in one year. In conclusion, I deleted the account! And I am curious how long it will take to get the refund. P.S. It took seven days, six emails and two phone calls. I got the refund!

I just want to share my excitement about Zoolz online cloud based storage. They offer an excellent product that is second to none and customer service that is first class. I recently had a minor issue with my account and email Christina with customer support. I figured that I would get the nowadays normal 12 hour response time as usual...but No...she responded within an hour or two. I don't know about you and cannot certainly speak for your experiences online, however; to me this totally blew me away. Their dedication to customer satisfaction goes above and beyond anything imaginable. Christina hats off to you and your fellow staff members for delivering the goods in an exceptional fashion. J.D. AVOID !!!!!!!!!! For you reporting me to Trust pilot: I opened free account at zoolz where they stated my files will be secured with unlimited time with all limitations of being it free, but I got mail from them that gives me 1 month to recover my files or they will be deleted. I honestly don't see this being serious company and definitely not trustworthy. You never know what waiting for you with them so you can loose your files forever.
