Very Disappointed! Very disappointed. Bought two lifetime backups (one cold). Now instead of switching it over they are terminating it. At the minimum they should switch it over and honor what we paid for, unless they are going bankrupt in that case they're trying to get more money before they go under. You certainly can't trust this company. Go somewhere else! Now they reply that they will refund only 30 days. What a scam! They should either provide what we purchased regardless of when or return our money as they are not living up to what they sold us a lifetime backup. Especially when now they wish to sell it to them. Who in the right mind would give them more money when they can't be trusted with it? It is close to a ransom because we have our information on their site and they only give you 14 days to remove it too unless you give them more money that they promised would never need to be done! Which there were negative stars!!!!!
I paid $200 for a lifetime cloud subscription. They just emailed me saying they are are canceling my lifetime subscription and I have 14 days to download my data before it is deleted.
0 stars. Paid up for a lifetime subscription. Just been told that they are closing the home service, no refund as a long term customer - what a rip off! We should all be switched to the business accounts free of charge. Update Zoolz - seriously do you think copy and pasting your standard, unhelpful response is customer service. You are clearly failing to provide the service we have all paid for.
Fraud. The purchase information said: "Deal Terms The lifetime deal shall not be resold, shared or transferred. Zool Cloud Storage Home Plan comes with lifetime access for 2TB plan (1TB Instant Vault + 1TB Cold Storage) Zoolz will provide lifetime support via email. Plans are for new users only and are not stackable to get a larger plan “30 Days No Question Asked” Refund Policy applicable for this product." Now the "LIFETIME" deal is unilaterally cancelled since they don't like the deal any longer. No refund offered for anyone that signed up for lifetime storage more than 12 months ago, and 14 days to try to recover the data from a slow service (doesn't matter at all if they have a "support or not). Don't ever make any deals with these scammers.
SCAM. They're selling lifetime license but then they sent you the email that the company is no longer offering this service and you should upgrade to another service for another money. Edited: I purchased LIFETIME license, not 30-day or 12-month license. LIFETIME means that you should provide the service LIFETIME or FULLY refund it. Also, they are still selling licenses for this product on StackSocial web. Still offering "HOME" license for the purchase, altough they're sending email to existing customers that "HOME" license isn't available any more. Do not trust them, they are 100% SCAMMERS.
Just decided they would ignore what "lifetime" stands for and cancelled these accounts, while they kept writing they would NEVER close paid accounts. Avoid at all cost! Edit: Please stop answering to all the complaints with the very same answer which doesn't address anything at all. You fooled us with a "lifetime" deal. That was false advertising, plain and simple. Zoolz is not dead yet and yet - you decided to break the deal. And we can't even download a single file that we backed up now!
I too had paid for a lifetime's storage (I quote "one-time payment") with Zoolz - there was no Zoolz Home and Business when I signed up, just Zoolz. I suspect they have hived off those of us with lifetime contracts to this new Zoolz Home. I have spent hours uploading all my files to Zoolz. I too have now been told that they are unilaterally backing out from our contract. When challenged about this, they just repeat the same answer everyone has been getting beneath their reviews which answers nothing and offers no refund if you paid over a year ago. They had already tried to renege on the agreement earlier by suddenly withdrawing any support for the account but asking you to pay a monthly fee to carry on receiving maintenance support. They are now offering to transfer me to a "business account" with a 90% discount. They say this price would continue each year but how can I trust a word they say after they have reneged on their "One-Time Payment"? I feel they have acted with no honour and if I was a business account I would think very carefully about dealing with a company that acts like this. I think the Advertising Standards Authority and Office of Fair Trading should take a look at their dealings. Just a shame I can't leave zero stars. Edit: as predicted, Zoolz reply doesn't address a single one of the points I raised but is just a stock reply they have added to every post here. Shameful.
Zoolz home full of empty promises. Great initial deal, however within a year or so later they noted you needed a maintenance package (additional cost) to upkeep your data. And now they are moving to service only businesses (with 2 weeks notice they no longer service Home usage). I can no longer retrieve my data despite the fact that Zoolz support suggested they could help me in 24 hrs. It is now 3 days. I highly would recommend running from this Bait and Switch company.
I too had my "lifetime" plan discontinued. 2 weeks to get the data off before it was deleted. Then they disabled the download button to actually do that! My 3 emails into their support remain unanswered after several days. Avoid!
Lifetime plan cancelled after 2.5 years with just 14 days notice. That says it all really. They took my money and then changed their mind. If it's true that they have also now started another company called Polarbackup which is doing the same thing then I seriously think a regulator should be stepping in to defend their customers.
Unreliable company. I had a Lifetime Plan and received a short notice they have changed their minds so I had to pay for a new subscription... AVOID THEM!
Do not touch this company. I paid for a "Lifetime" plan in November 2018 and now this week I am informed my "Lifetime" plan is being terminated on 15/10/2020, less than 2 years after buying a "Lifetime" plan. They will not refund any part of my money paid - total con merchants. This has to be illegal. EDIT: Zoolz spamming the same reply to everyone is not helpful. The vast majority of complaints are regarding LIFETIME plans and no one has bought one within the last 30 days so no one is getting their money back. Shameful.
This is their business model: 1. You pay for say 1TB lifetime storage. 2. They email you saying they are not going to honour this, but good news. 3. You can pay £15 per year for the 1TB of storage you have already paid for, and get this. 4. That is a whopping discount on our usual price for £149.99, and get this. 5. You will always get that discount, we promise, we are good to our word, it won't increase, ever, honest. Would you trust your business data with Zoolz?
I really don't care about the money or they going out of business. Everyone's data is priceless, been trying to download for 72 hours but it says calculating. "Dedicated restore specialists" still haven't got back after 24 hours. Why don't you help the customers who paid you at least recover their data quickly and let everyone get on with their lives. Your business has been hit by COVID you say and then you're hurting others. You're stressing people out unnecessarily during these COVID times and causing physical consequences. UPDATE 2020-10-11 I manage to download all my data a few days ago, for which I'm completely relieved. I got a reply from their support specialists that they were unable to handle the spike in downloads and fixed things. I want to be fair to this company from my side. Even though their word on lifetime backup wasn't kept. My data was returned and not held hostage on purpose or anything like that. In a good way this is a big lesson for me about the cloud. I've upgraded my review to 3 stars, because they returned everyone's data and because I release them from this lifetime contract from my side.

Lifetime 'Business' cloud backup closed after 18 months. Yes, I had a business account manager, now they are saying its a discontinued Home product.
SCAM Company beware - as with other reviews have been sold lifetime accounts for 3 years and now stand to lose all personal data with 2 weeks notice as Zoolz state they are closing all personal accounts. I have been trying to download data from their servers continuously for 48 hours and not managed to download a thing! They are NOT responding to their dedicated customer support email address either. A complete rip off which has left me HEARTBROKEN at their callous intent to delete personal files and treasured images. Do not take up their offer of upgrade as it is just a SCAM. They sold lifetime accounts in "zoolz.com" and shut down all accounts here now. But they have alreday started the same bussiness in another domain "polarbackup.com" . Big Scam... Cheating Company.. Be Aware..
Bait and switch cash grab, pure and simple. I signed up for a LIFETIME 1TB + 1TB (cold storage and instant access) backup cloud space a couple of years ago. I held up my end of the deal, I paid the purchase price. I was informed in an email that they no longer like the deal they offered and will simply renege on it with no refund. How much clearer fraud could you commit? Bait - Switch - Defraud. What an amazing business model, they make money and need to provide absolutely nothing in return! I assume I am merely one of hundreds? thousands? to have been defrauded in this manner judging by other comments here and on Google. How does this company deserve to stay in business? My purchased plan was LIFETIME, so any offer of a refund within 30 days, or partial within a year is insulting at best. With their tight 2 week deadline for data retrieval they have pretty much guaranteed that they will cause me to lose data. The exact thing their service is supposed to prevent. You have been warned. This company deserves no ones money nor business. Edit: 10/31/2020 I've just been informed that my account has been officially suspended and all my data lost. My "Lifetime" account was approximately 2 years. Had I known it would be two years there is a 0% chance I would have signed up. Absolute fraud. Additionally, a company in the business of backing up data is now responsible for the 100% loss of mine. Nice work.
