I myself bought 4 lifetime subscriptions and referred customers and now they are canceling the service with no refunds and only giving 15 days to recover their files through a service that no longer works. I have already contacted Zoolz and they replied with a lot of lies, as they always reply with the same message here. They have advertised and sold their lifetime offers on many sites over the past few years, but it was clearly a scam because now they are just renaming all services to "business" and if you want to keep your files you have to pay monthly. They will only refund a tiny percentage of their customers, Zoolz and its owners simply stole the money from all the other customers. Never buy anything that has to do with Zoolz, BigMIND, or the people who own them. This is no mere disservice, they are dishonest.
I signed up for their lifetime cloud storage. When I added a user, no problem. When I deleted it, they shut my whole account down. a year later I got it back, but then they shut down their service with 14 days notice. I couldn't get their mac app to restore. Why would you ever trust a company so unreliable? I wont again. Same as everyone else, bought a lifetime plan, last year they said no more maintenance and we might not be able to access our data. Then they backpedaled. Now they realized the only way to get rid of the lifetime plans THEY SOLD, was to eliminate that entire product. Very shady. I almost pulled the gun on upgrading to business, but then I researched other backup solutions and honestly why would I want to give a dollar to this company after they lied. I think its hilarious that they respond to the one 5 star review, but have nothing to say about all these 1 star reviews. Hopefully your company goes under in the next year.
Bought lifetime license also. They are discontinuing the service and will not honor. They are definitely con-men. Their has to be some action users can take against this. I can't believe a company can get away with this type of deception.
Like the 1000's of others, I had a lifetime subscription that they just cancelled. This seem ripe for a class-action lawsuit; are there any lawyers on this thread? I'm going to log a complaint on the Better Business Bureau as well. I hope someone will hold them accountable. Update - Go to econsumer dot gov to file a complaint as they are in London and this organization handles complaints outside of the US and Canada.
Total crap... had a lifetime subscription now canceled.. Restoring data is impossible. They say they want to concentrate on business. Now if I were a business I couldn't trust this shambles or recommend their service to anyone.
Same story as all other recent reviews. Let's hope a lawyer put his data with this sheister outfit and starts off a class action for breach of contract - count me in. Lifetime means lifetime. In any case upload speeds were so slow that for back up it was unusable. Luckily I have a back up disk at home.
They are a fraud. They canceled lifetime plans for everyone refusing to see the reality of their previous agreements saying their focus is now business now. But continues to sell data storage at their website so they still in thre same busines. a company that does not meet its own words. Just a big fraud. dont do business with them
See my review below. It says a lot about this company that they send out the same old standard response to their customers that have made a complaint about this appalling business decision, without actually dealing with the main point; namely, the company reneging on their contractual promise for a lifetimes data back-up. If they had intended to define a 'lifetime', as that of a Mayfly, or some other lower-order animal, then they should have specified the time limit in the first place. No doubt this comment will also receive a standard unhelpful response!
Huge scam. They canceled lifetime plan for everyone, saying their focus is now business. But continues to sell home plan at their website.
Got 2 years into a lifetime scheme when they decided to cancel the scheme. No repayment, and such a slow upload and download speed that it's not possible to retrieve my data in the 2 weeks notice that they've given me. I'm not sure if there's any legal recourse but it's safe to say that this is a company with very little in the way or morals or respect for their customers. Please, do not trust them with your data. Learn from our (the many reviewers that you will read here) mistake.
I payed, like so many others, the lifetime plan 2 years ago and I've recently been informed that I was probably dead because the lifetime plan is no more and my files are definitely lost thanks to a pathetic "restore" option. These people are pure and simple crooks and they need to be caned until they give back what they stole. There is little doubt that they breach their own terms of contract and I bet they expect to get away with it because who will sue them? They're somewhere on a far away cloud innit? Well, as it's been said trust is of essence in the world on internet services. Let's destroy what they want to show to gullible customers. These people will screw you. Don't buy anything from them. By the way show the world what kind of numbskulls you are as well by pasting again the same answer under this review. You morons!
I can bear with low speed or failed transfers. Also with bad support because they are cheap. BUT what I can't forgive is how they made me lose years of priceless business data. Their service is not secure at all. Don't make the make mistake I made trusting them your data... I already contacted support and they did nothing helpful, just came with excuses. Use the service at your own risk.
FRAUD! Another set of thieves, I like the others posted in this thread was ripped off by purchasing a "Lifetime" 2TB back-up for my business account. Suddenly I am informed that this is a "Home" account and is being canceled. I looked at my agreement nowhere does it state Home or Business. I guess a 2017 to 2020 is my lifetime. Why would I possibly be persuaded to purchase anything by this company when they dropped my account that is legally paid for this is fraud.
ZOOLZ LIFETIME HOME They are shutting down this service after a couple of years of use with 2 weeks warning. No refund, no switch over to other service without yearly fee. Business users only now. I advise all business account holders to switch to a legitimate provider for your cloud services otherwise you might have a similar 14 days notice to retrieve your precious data before its deleted. Shocking abuse of account holders. AVOID AT ALL COST
Restoring is impossible. Tried it now 6 times with Zoolz Restore. The first 5 times i waited between 10 and 20 hours each, but Zoolz restore was always stuck at calculating and at 0 percent. After opening a support ticket (on 01.10), sending several mails to the support, making a review on trustpilot and reporting them, they finally responded to my email on 06.10. They told me that they had made some changes and that it should work now. After that email the download button on the zoolz website appeared, which was previously deactivated (which does not help me becaue it is limited to 1 GB per day) I tried Zoolz restore the 6th time now. I waited and i got progress on Zoolz restore. After 16 hours it reached 100 percent, but that software did not work properly. From my 314 GB cold storage i tried to restore, just random 76 GB did arrive on my hard disc. Thats just 24 percent files which were restored sucessfully. Over 76 percent of my data (238 GB) failed to restore. They are either blocking most of your files so that you get forced to buy business or maybe worst, they have lost the files/improperly stored them on their servers. Waisted in 6 tries over 80 hours only to get some tiny random percent of my files out.
They decided that they sold a lot of lifetime home users so now they want to cancel all of them!!! thief
My lifetime subscription is also getting cancelled after 2 years. I will be sure to spread the news (including to EU consumer protection agencies and business customers I am affiliated with). At first Instant Vault was instant, then it became cold and it became impossible to restore files using the website. None of these changes were communicated to me. They also decided that you have to pay extra for the support at some point. Now the whole service is being shut down without compensation for me. My data is probably safer at a company that doesn't need to resort to such desperate measures.

They sell a LIFETIME service and then send you a letter that says "now that we own your data, pay us more before 15 days or your account will be completely deleted". They deserve a class action!
