The weather was great, nice group of people in the balloon, great Crew and Chris gave good commentary as we went along. This was a present for my husband and he went with his brother.

I rang up as I was no longer able to use my virgin balloon experience due to matters that were out of my hands. I wanted to swap my virgin experience with another one for my dad’s 60th birthday as he wouldn’t be able to go on a hot air balloon. I was told I couldn’t and that I have essentially lost £400 for something I paid for 3 months ago unless I book a flight and it gets cancelled 8 times then they will look to to move me over to a different virgin experience. I will never use Virgin experiences again. Awful company.

The standards of customer service provided by Lucy Allmark restored my faith in the brand. She was incredibly patient, gave exceptional service and was dedicated to ensuring my concerns were fully addressed. Thank you for your attention to detail, and going above and beyond.

An amazing experience. Although I was surprised that we were asked to help get the balloon ready it only added to the experience. The flight was magical and the scenery amazing. The landing was perfect and not scary at all. Thank you David and your team for an amazing morning

Our Virgin balloon flight with Mike Petteford was exciting but felt entirely secure. Mike and his team were extremely capable. Mike also made the whole experience fun.

The overall experience was fantastic not only the balloon ride but the involvement with the friendly and professional crew in getting the balloon in the air and packing it all away with a glass of prosecco and a certificate at the end. AMAZING!

Fantastic morning going up in a virgin hot air balloon. Weather was perfect The pilot Robert and his crew were very professional and friendly from the safely talk right though to safely landing the balloon. He was very informative and helpful. The ride itself was very calming and exhilarating watching the land flow underneath us. It was a magical experience and lucky to fly first time I highly recommend a trip with this company. Even had a glass of processco or orange juice afterwards. And given a lovely certificate of completion.

The organisation from our time of arrival to leaving was brilliant. We were given very clear instructions and useful information when we were up in the air. We would highly recommend Virgin Balloons. The complete experience including the preparation and packing away was fantastic.

Virgin Hot Air Balloon ride from Whitchurch, Shropshire. Friday 30/8/24. Sunrise flight. What a memorable experience! Arrived at Whitchurch Rugby Field around 6am, as the day was dawning. Virgin Balloon staff arrived and provided us with an amazing hands-on experience to help prepare the flight, and then rising through the air over North Shropshire. The pilot, Olly, was amazing - full of technical knowlege and skilfull in manouvering the balloon. The views were stunning - we will certainly go again

My wife and I had the privilege to take a 'Sunrise flight' with Virgin Balloons on Friday 30th August. We had originally been given the experience tickets some 4 and a half years before, but with COVID and then cancelled flights due to unsuitable weather conditions we wondered if we would ever get off the ground at all. So when we received confirmation that the flight would take place last week we were so excited. The flight did not disappoint. Both the Pilot, Robert Keron and his crew were simply superb! It was a terrific experience looking down and across at the beautiful Suffolk countryside in perfect conditions.

So after trying for 20 months, 8 cancelled flights, we had "Lift Off" Highlight: Peter Philpott and his crew attention to the safety and wellbeing of his passengers. Disappointment: was not being able to film Lift Off and Landing. Verdict: Can’t wait to fly again Virgin Balloon flight Virgin Balloon flight from Hanging Houghton Flying with our pilot, Peter Philpott. Launch Site, Hanging Houghton, Northamptonshire. 6.30pm Thursday 29th August.

Customer service isn’t in their vocabulary.Booked on a flight today at Berkamsted called the flight line at 11pm as instructed only to find details of the previous days cancelled flight at a different location on the message . Tried 30 mins later as per instructions no change. Woke up at 4 and still no information for our flight - was it on was it at an alternative site - who knew so biting the bullet we went to the booked site still with no info and the emergency line not switched on. Eventually the recorded message was changed at 6.15 when we were at the site. Knowing they didn’t update the message until 6.15 did any of the staff have the courtesy to turn up at the site to explain NO has anyone had the courtesy to reply to the answerphone messages we left on the emergency phone NO. They didn’t even say sorry for the late message on flight line. Why can’t they follow their own procedures, a member of staff turning up at the site because they didn’t update the flight line would have been the best thing to do after all what else will they be doing. The whole made us feel like it was a scam.

The whole thing was wonderful - from helping with the preparation / inflation, to the fantastic feeling on board, and the exciting landing, it all exceeded my expectations. We had lovely views over the area - the pilot, Peter Philpott, was very professional, but also fun and informative. His team members, Steve and Ben were also great. I couldn’t fault this experience and would highly recommend. We went as two couples, Ted, Julie, Scott and Deborah, and on landing we were given a glass of bubbles which was a lovely finish. Thank you Peter!

A wonderful experience but the day was made by Chris and his team. So friendly and accommodating, made everyone feel welcome from the start. He made it fun. OK, he's been at it for a long time, but there's a knack to getting it just right and he's got it. And above all very professional, after all it's a lot of responsibility

Our allocated pilot, Thomas Hook, has quite a few mentions on Trustpilot, here's another: The weather was mild - the forecast was for land wind speeds of no greater than 4mph. That's supposed to be perfect for ballooning. But our flights were cancelled because TH felt that it was too dangerous. By the time we found this out, we had already committed - both had taken a day off work, had driven nearly 70 miles, had checked into a hotel and had eaten a restaurant meal. So, we'd racked up some costs. We knew we'd have an early start (6.30am flight) but couldn't get an early night because there is the need to ring for further details (a barely audible, garbled voice mail) after 11pm. Had the experience gone ahead, none of this would have been a problem. Had it been cancelled due to a genuine safety issue, none of this would have been a problem. But, to have it cancelled without any adverse weather...now that *is* a problem and suggests that the pilot just didn't fancy the day's work. We now have to go through the whole rigmarole again, and again with no certainty that we will even get off the ground. Please don't buy vouchers for Virgin Balloons as gifts for people you care about, they are a real poisoned chalice. Booking is complicated, choices (both dates and locations) are very limited and subject to sudden change, there are additional expenses and the experience can be cancelled at the whim of the pilot.
