Mobile guru is the leading e-commerce company that buys and sells pre-owned customer electronics. All of this began with the realization that if you can trade in a used car, you should be able to trade in a used phone.
I wanted to sell my old iphone since I am no longer using it. I searched online and found bunch of sites. Registered and did all the process but none of them are prompt. I did same thing with The MOBILE GURU, and called them to check if I did everything right. Less than a minute I am already speaking with an expert. Walk me through the whole process and even waited for me to finish everything that I need to do online. It was more than 5 star experience for me. Prompt and professional. The next day, visited their office to deliver my phone, I was entertained by a very professional gentleman and explain to me as to how and what happens from there. He even offered to have the transaction to be expedited since I needed the money and promised they will pay me within 24 Hours and YES they did. Called them the next day simce I received an email about a successful transaction with them. Called them cause I am worried that I imputed an incorrect bank details and Liz, (the person who answered my call) made everything seamless. She confirmed everything and made changes promptly and she even told me if I did not receive the money on time I can give her a call back. Guess what, I called her back to let her know that I did received the money on time. I am a very happy client and sure will share this amazing, seamless and worry-free experience doing business with MOBILE GURU. To all the staff of MOBILE GURU, thank you very much 👏🏼👋🥰
Sent my IP13 phone after my initial assessment as mint, but they replied back dropping it to good cause the battery is 1% less than what they asked. I vaguely remember it was above the requirements when I checked but I said okay and proceeded with their evaluation. Took them then many weeks to proceed and to get the funds paid. First when I lodged my request was 2 Nov. Payment just came today 29 November. Either their are non professional custom satisfaction team or they just kept the money to get some interest out of it. Never again
They gave me an amazingly competitive price for my Tab S8 Ultra. I was wrong to be worried that they might downgrade the expected price after review but they didn't! It's a thin profit margin for some newer tablets as well. I genuinely am so happy with these guys and I absolutely recommend. Also the support phone line was super fast and they were understanding of my weird situation regarding the tablet rather than turning me away. If I could rate six stars I would. A+++ Great service. Thanks so much guys!!
I ordered phone on 15th of November and received it on next day. Very good condition of my phone and box and packing was impressive.
I was looking at different sites for a Samsung phone that fell within my budget (which was pretty low) and I found Mobile Guru to be more affordable with more options compared to others. I personally prefer to check the phone before buying it, so I visited their store (office...?) to explore my options. I thought I would only be able to buy a Galaxy S8 or S9 with my budget, but when I went there, they showed me S10 options that fall within my budget too, with just minor scratches on the paint. After looking at different phones, I decided to go with the S10. The staff were really helpful and patiently waited while I decided on which phone to go for. I've been using this phone for a few months now, and it works as well as new! I even got a complimentary cable and phone case as well as a warranty card. All in all, I am really glad with my purchase and would recommend anyone to go here if they're looking for a budget-friendly phone.
Absolute joke of a company. Only competent team there is customer service. Ordered an 'ex-demo' Galaxy Note 9 from their website, arrived with the infamous Samsung Green Screen of Death. How this got past the tech team, I have no idea. Sent it back for warranty. Heard nothing for 2 days after the phone rocked up in their inbox. On day 3 I called them myself, and was told the phone was being checked over by techs tonight, and a refund would be possible on Monday at the earliest. Fine, I decided to give them the best chance possible and waited until late Monday afternoon just in case they would be able to send out a replacement phone by then. Rang them an hour before close, and was told that a replacement had been sent out that afternoon. I was also told I'd get a tracking number that evening for it. Again, I was patient. Waited until the same time the next day, and I'd still not yet received any communication. Upon ringing them back, I was told the phone hadn't even been shipped yet! I don't know whether the dispatch team had straight up lied to the customer service person, or if they'd mixed up my order with another one (you'll see why later), but the *new* story was that there apparently weren't any replacement phones to ship out to me. Whoever was calling the shots up there then told the poor CS person to try and upsell me! I was already mad at them, and now this company is asking me for more money so that they can send me another (potentially broken) phone that's more expensive! Naturally, I instead asked her to just refund me. She tells me that she'll put it in line for processing, and I try to just put this whole ordeal behind me. But oh no. It turns out, not only is the tech team incompetent, but so is the team handling the money. Four days later (the refund policy says '48 hours during busy times' but I again wanted to be patient) I still had not received my refund. I again called the company, and was told that I in fact had been refunded, and here is the receipt. The receipt was for a different name, a different payment method, and a vastly different amount of money. I really don't know how they could've messed this up this badly. It was only finally after this point that the CS person was able to get me a refund, so quick that it happened while we were still on the phone. I can only assume she gave the knuckleheads down in cash handling an absolute earful for how badly they'd mucked up and they'd processed things immediately, with tails tucked between their legs. At least the person you talk to when things goes wrong is knowledgeable and polite. Whatever y'all are paying them ain't enough. Besides that, terrible company. Spend your money elsewhere.
Pro: Quick customer service response. Easy to use website. Con: Incorrectly quote me the wrong price for AU Post tracking. Once they receive your phone, they would downgrade the condition to try to lowball you. No choice as they have you by the balls to make you sell your phone with no way to negotiate. Its their way or the highway.
Though price is a bit lower but Always fast service .
Sent an iPad Air 3rd Gen, in good condition. Price was $220. They came back with $40 for iPad 2nd generation with screen problems ( I had been using it prior and it was perfect). Then they changed their mind and agreed that it was Air 3 but still paid me $40. I feel like I’ve been scammed.
Sent S21 Samsung. AusPost showed they received it, but it tooks 2 weeks 1 day for them to contact me on payment, now claiming the phone is locked. This is not true. Demanded return. DO NOT TRUST
DON’T SELL TO MOBILE GURU UNTIL YOU READ THIS – In summary: Advertises (falsely) ‘same day payment’ and took 4 and a half days (106 hours) to make the PayID (instant bank transfer) payment! RE: Order 12107 – Everything seemed normal when creating a sell order on their website. Best industry price and ‘same day payment’ was offered. Additionally, I could drop off the phone at its South Melbourne office. I did this on Easter Monday and was greeted by a male member of staff, saying it would be formally quoted later that day – it was – great! This is where the service ended and it all went REALLY bad! I reply to the quote as per the email instructions of ‘yes’ to accept, thinking it’s Easter Monday, I won’t get same day payment as per the website and expected it Tuesday. Tuesday comes and goes, no payment. I email back asking what’s happening and reconfirming I accepted the $770 and what my PayID (instant bank transfer) details were. The next day I get a short and sharp email back advising follow-up with the payments team will happen – no timeframes. On Thursday still no payment, I email again, highlighting it’s now 72 hours since accepting the quote and still no payment. I politely point out Mobile Guru’s website says ‘same day payment’ and if I am not paid by Friday, I will consider my mobile stolen by their company and will also report Mobile Guru to the ACCC for misleading and deceptive conduct (advertising ‘same day payment’ and not meeting this). Friday, I get another brief email, finally with a brief apology for the delay and blaming the payment delay on increased volumes. Again, told the payments team will be followed up and no timeframes again! Beyond frustrated I email back asking for someone with authority to call me who is empowered to do something. Unsurprisingly I did not get a call back on Friday and finally at 10pm that night, after posting on Mobile Guru’s Facebook, I get the payment. I only went with this company as it offered $10 more for my mobile than its competitors. I should have stuck with more reputable companies as the extra $10 I got for my mobile has well and truly been used up in the amount of time I’ve been chasing these clowns! I will never use Mobile Guru again and would urge anyone reading this review to avoid Mobile Guru at all costs as a $10 or so better quote over a competitor is all smoke and mirrors to get you in and then screw you around! I feel sorry for any vulnerable customer of Mobile Guru who may have been lured in on the same false pretenses of ‘same day payment’ as I was. Staff seem to have no moral compass when I pointed out to them that people could be needing ‘same day payment’ to cover costs of living. Whilst I am not a vulnerable customer (I was just really annoyed and wanted what’s rightfully mine - payment!) I’m sure there are ones needing the money paid promptly to service debts! Shame on you Mobile Guru management team – I hope the ACCC look into your false advertising and would encourage anyone else impacted by delayed payment to also report this to the ACCC
Had an old iPhone 7 Plus which was in excellent condition. Had no cosmetic damage to the outside of the phone and had never been dropped or damaged. When submitted, I was given an estimate of $190 that I would receive for the phone. The process for sending the phone to them was very simple - they provided a Reply Paid address, so it cost you nothing to send. They are a second hand dealer (pawn broker) so ID has to be forwarded to them prior to sending the phone. Once they received the phone, they "tested" it and said that the battery charging port needed replacing and there was also cosmetic damage. They offered me $20. I requested the phone back (which I had to pay the postage to get back) and once it arrived, I forwarded it to Mobile Monster who gave me $150. Would not recommend using Mobile Guru to anyone, as it seems like they are simply ripping people off.
Purchased a ex demo phone off them arrived full of scratches not as described. Have tried contacting them and not getting anything. Bad part is this phone was purchased by my 18 yr old daughter who saved up all the money herself.
I wrote a review telling them that they were bad they never contacted me which is honest they reckon that contacted me I never got an email I asked him to put the phone aside for me I was going to pay half of it tonight and half the next day the lady told me you are not allowed to put false bad reviews online can you believe that she's dictating to me what I say is not correct do not buy from them service lady telling me to write not to write a bad review I can't believe it
These guys were fantastic to deal with. I made two purchases, phones were at 100% battery health and in excellent condition. Packaging was perfect too. Couldn’t fault them, probably best seller I’ve purchased from on eBay. Thanks guys!
Excellent and trustworthy. The iPhone was exactly as described, was very well packed and arrived quickly. There was a slight mixup with an accessory but they sent me another immediately. Highly recommended. I found them via reebelo but be very cautious using the reebelo site. A number of their vendors have very poor ratings. But Mobile Guru in South Melbourne is excellent.
Decided to sell my S20ultra and checked out Mobile Guru. I got an online price and sent it in. They communicated well with me and after checking the phone after receiving it offered me a reduced but still fair price that I was happy to accept. It was a positive, quick (2 weeks end to end) process and I received the money in my account as promised. A happy trade.
I am extremely happy with the service provided by The Mobile Guru. They are very professional, friendly and are there for you every step of the way! The phone I purchased was a S20 Ultra and it arrived a few days later in immaculate condition! It was packaged nicely, and came with the original charger, as well as a screen protector. I would definitely recommend buying from them as service, description and what you get is precise. I will be buying from them again in the future!
just nowNEW Fantastic experience 🙂 sold my Samsung S21 256g and was quoted over twice as much as anywhere else. Then once they received the phone in Melbourne they checked it over and emailed me to say I was able to get the $640 which was in my bank straight away 🙂 will recommend to everyone 🙂
