Really helpful shop - even for those of us who very far from accomplished musicians

It was great to be able to order the great bass and contra bass bocals through the Early Music Shop. Customer service was excellent.

I needed an uncommon book for my son who is a lutenist. This store not only had the book, but processed my international order and shipped it so promptly that it made it much sooner than I expected. I had been worried that it wouldn't make it by his birthday two weeks after I placed the order, but it arrived in less than a week!

Editing my review: I read product description thoroughly. I did not see that this lute comes with a soft padded case. I ordered a case for $200 and now I have two cases. In product description it is easy to think the mention of a case is referring to the “silver” bundle and not this lute alone. My mistake but considering I was spending an extra $200 and did specifically order the case solely because my reading indicated it did not come with one, I feel my mistake could have been avoided with more clarity. Otherwise my experience has been beyond expectations. Customer service is quick. Shipping time was like 3 days to western USA. The product itself is pleasing. The price is very reasonable.

Thank you so much to Barry Holder and the EMS - the thumb-hole bush has really helped the top notes on my alto, the workmanship is beautiful and it's great to have the instrument back within the week.

All roud helpful personal service. Someone was once kind enough to volunteer,( I didn't ask), to take my order on holiday with him and post it from within Europe, in order to save me the extra expense of import tax. That's what I call 'kind and thoughtful'. The order wasn't huge, but a very memorable gesture. I was VERY impressed. For such a specialist market, they do very well to cater for a lot of different musician's and enthusiasts requirements. Nothing but praise.
