Excellent customer service and expertise acquired over many years have made us the undisputed market leaders in direct wine sales all over the world. Why not come on a wine-derful journey with us from grape to glass.

I have been a regular customer for decades with this company. The primary reason I have stayed loyal is because of Mr. Nick Rooker, he has always been friendly, efficient and professional. He has always offered sound wine advice and knows my tastes and preferences better than I do. He adds the personal touch to a very delightful product. I highly recommend this company and especially their representative.

This company has been brilliant for decades as we have been purchasing wines from the mid-90's More recently however, since the departure of the gent who dealt with us over the last 2years... absolutely woeful. Customer Services not existent, sales useless with orders frankly ignored. Not sure what is behind their demise as we actually miss the wine but when you have to balance ignorance with such a fine product, ignorance will always drive loyal customers away. Very sad.

I got a Groupon voucher for wine tasting as a gift for my birthday. The tasting itself was quite ok, but nothing special. Just open a few bottles and try. How the employee chooses which wine to taste? Well, he asks about your favorite varieties and then looks at the spreadsheet to match metrics like acidity or others. I thought that computers can do that, right? Or just open Vivino and look at the similar wines to your favorite ones. I guess it even works much better. Ok, let's say we've chosen some wine to try. What does the Pieroth employee do? He opens the bottle and asks if you like it or not. And that's it. He literally cannot say anything about the wine except what is written in his spreadsheet. If you tell him that you feel something specific in the taste, he answers: "Well... Yes, everybody has his own taste...". What kind of tasting it is? And what is the role of this person? Just carrying the bottles and extorting the money from you? BTW, let's talk a bit about money. After the tasting, the Pieroth employee was expecting us to buy the wine we tried. I was shocked by this since all my previous tastings were just tastings and that's it. No sales and insists. Moreover, the shipping price is crazy 10 EUR even if you want just one bottle. We rejected and told him that maybe later we will decide to order something. Later, the Pieroth employee proposed to sell us two bottles without shipping charges because we are on his way to another customer. The proposal was made in an informal conversation (email). We agreed on that. Later, we changed our minds. The employee was mad about that and told us that he already ordered the bottles and we "HAVE TO PAY" him direct debit for that. Considering that we didn't have any official order confirmation, that sounded super rude and more like extortion. After I told him that I didn't have to pay anything, he answered that I'm a poor man in spirit! Haha, very nice customer service. The overall experience was awful. Never again having anything with Pieroth. The stone age selling policies are intolerable in our times.

I purchased a wine tasting evening voucher at a local food and drink event. I thought it would be quite a nice evening with friends. I called, booked and got everything set up. We had quite a nice evening trying the different wines but became very uncomfortable at the end when the Pieroth rep then became quite pushy with a sales pitch of which wines we wanted. After originally trying to push a case of 12 on us for a price which then rose drastically after VAT and postage was added on, we just couldn't afford to spend that much on wine so guiltily agreed to purchase a case of 6 for an obscene amount of money. The wines aren't amazing but are nice enough. However, you end up paying over £20 a bottle (at least) for wines which may be on par with those that you can buy on offer for £6 from a supermarket. Frankly, we felt that being told costs without VAT seemed like a bit of an underhanded sales tactic to start with as adds a substantial price hike to already expensive wines. Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who's not committed to buying some pricey bottles of wine. I thought it would be a pleasant experience for my friends and I but ended up making us feel quite uncomfortable with the way the evening played out. On top of this, I had also paid extra to the pieroth rep for a second tasting experience at the food and drink event only to be told by the person running our experience that I could now arrange another one for free any time I liked so was not best pleased that additional money had been taken for no reason.

Reading the reviews I have to say the local reps who visit, and give the wine tasting, make this company. I have been a customer of Pieroth for many years and love the wine that we get. The few issues we have had have always been dealt with very quickly by the reps.

This has to be the worst wine we've ever drunk. We purchased a mixed case of Hungarian wine. A white and a red. The red, a Mundana had no body to it at all. It was sweet with no finish to it. How they can have the nerve to sell wine at the prices they do whilst holding a straight face is beyond me. We've drunk many a Hungarian wine before and this is an affront to the country! Stay well clear of this company. Go to a proper vintner or purveyor of wine as you'll get much better value for money than this. Update to Pieroth's response - the reason we didn't get a full refund was because we only purchased them through a friend who worked for Pieroth and didn't want her to have her commission clawback from the wine sale. She left the company soon after as she had been given such negative feedback from other customers.

Beware, we had an experience with this firm where they sent out invoices for wine that wasn't received and then sent out debt collectors for the invoiced amounts. Their customer service was appalling they refused to accept our word and we paid the bill to make the thing go away. We shouldn't have done that but the stress it caused us was unbearable. Be careful if you deal with them.

Pieroth failed to follow Civil Procedure Rules. They waited 4 months before informing the court that payment had been received.

I have been a Pieroth wine drinker now for about 18 months along with my family members. The local agent Kevin Jewbury is a very nice and polite you could not ask for a nicer person who we have a laugh with when we are either on the phone or having a wine tasting session.

Applied to reclaim a voucher 21st March. Despite three messages / emails with Full contact details. It is now the 24th April and no response whatsoever has been made despite stating the a reply will be made within 21 days. There are no excuse (as its just an email) and given the current situation I would be happy with a polite courtesy acknowledgement After paying money up-front for a wine tasting evening, all I have is the feeling of being ignored. Currently would not recommend this company, as seemingly basic customer service is not non-existent. 27/04/20 - Pieroth called today, obviously concerned about my issue. The point made was discussed and was taken away; that there initial response could have been more timely and better handled. However at least the review was read and dealt with promptly. I was happy with callers concern and pleased with the outcome.

This wine tasting which I received as a GIFT left a very sour taste in the mouth. The wine was fine and the representative was knowledgeable but considering I am an 18 year old student nurse, I didn't expect to be made to feel very guilty that I simply CANNOT afford a £240 case of wine. It was extremely awkward at the end of the tasting and instead of the representative just accepting that none of us have anywhere near that amount of money to spend on wine, he abruptly left in a very annoyed manner. Unprofessional and very embarrassing to say the least.

Melanie Foley 26 March 2020, 20:09

To be fair we had a nice evening and the representative was pleasant and well organised BUT make no mistake the wines are ok but overpriced and in all the chaos of different people ordering to make up a case it’s easy to miss the shipping - £10 added on before VAT is added too. So the wine price is NOT between £15 and £18 a bottle.

We had a wine tasting experience night recently, hosted by Aaron. He had a task on his hands to educate a group of gents who were novices at this game, however, he managed to inform and keep us thoroughly entertained throughout. I would definitely say I’m far more educated now, and won’t be just grabbing any wine off the shelves anymore. Plus fine wines mean no hangovers! Cheers Aaron.
