I met with multiple companies before choosing Phoenix Health to do my weight loss surgery. From the very first phone call to book a consultation I was greeted with a friendly compassionate voice, willing to talk at length about any queries I had. The whole team from nurses, surgeons, secretaries, dieticians, anaesthetist, physio, psychologists and many more have been absolutely amazing. 6 months post-op and I’ve lost 44% of my excess weight, and still the support continues. I feel I’ve been given a new lease of life and it’s all thanks to Phoenix Health. I’ve recommended them to multiple people so far. So if you want to be in great hands, be treated with respect, compassion and dignity by a 5* team then look no further. Their attention to detail and skill is beyond that of any other company I initially had a consultation with. Phoenix Health gave me my life back and for that I’ll be eternally grateful.

Amazing healthcare. All the staff morning and night are beyond friendly and very understanding of my needs, No matter what those needs were. I have never felt alone and that was one of my fears going under a huge surgery process so far from home as I live 160 miles away. I am now able to eat, drink and sleep very well and had no need for on going pain relief. Amazing business and amazing people all round.

After having a terrible experience in a private hospital in the Northwest I was looking for a surgeon for a second opinion. My lovely GP found Professor Kerrigan at Phoenix and I booked in to see him as a private patient. Although Prof knew I was only there for his opinion, he spent a huge amount of time with me, (above and beyond what I had paid for), advising and reassuring me that the corrective surgery I needed could be done. Following Vertical Gastric Sleeve Surgery by a different consultant from a different private hospital the previous year, I was left with a twisted stomach, unable to eat properly with deranged and deficient bloods, constantly vomiting and absolutely petrified, Prof Kerrigan gave me complete confidence to go forward with corrective surgery and I am having a Roux En Y Gastric Bypass in October. Luckily for me my GP fully supported me and contacted the CCG who have agreed to fund my corrective surgery. Since then I have been referred to Prof Kerrigan as an NHS patient and he has very kindly agreed to operate on me himself in 4 weeks time. After spending the best part of an hour with him this week, he has again filled me with confidence about my forthcoming operation. I would explain my experience with Prof Kerrigan and his team as outstanding and excellent. He is a complete professional with a very caring nature. I must add he also has an excellent team supporting him. His secretary Barbara Moore is excellent and has also gone above and beyond all my expectations and is worth her weight in gold, I have also spent time talking to Emma, Ashleigh the Dietician and met a lovely lady on Tuesday on reception whom have all made my experience so far excellent. I can only encourage and recommend people to put their faith in Prof Kerrigan and his team and and seek his opinion before entering into life changing surgery. I now look forward to my surgery with reassurance and confidence that I am in Profs professional hands and the torturous year I have had will come to an end shortly and I can start living life again. I would like to say a huge thank you so far to Prof Kerrigan, Barbara and the team for my experience so far.

I had mini gastric bypass 14th May 2018. 8 stone and 10lbs gone for life and over 100% excess weight gone!! Can honestly say the best decision I have ever made. having 2 very young boys to run round after I can finally keep up with them and I’m a lot more active. I feel more confident in my body and have a much better quality of life. Professor Kerrigan and his team are amazing! Professional, helpful and always go out there way to help. I would definitely 100% recommended Phoenix health I can not recommend them enough. If your thinking of getting the surgery done I would definitely give them a ring and just have a chat with them, the only thing you’ve got to lose is the weight!! 🙈 excuse the pun 😂. I only wish I done it sooner! 😀

18 months on from my bariatric surgery and I have maintained my 99% of my excess weight loss. My life has never been better. I now have a new wardrobe full of shorts, dresses and clothes I never dreamed I could comfortably wear. Prof Kerrigan and his staff are amazing at their job and I really wish I did it 10 years ago. For those reading this - just do it!!!! The only thing you have to lose is weight.

I was referred for Bariatric surgery last year. Was seen for consultation in December '18 and had my surgery in February '19. I was under Jennifer Darrien who was totally brilliant, caring and excellent. She ensured everything was explained to me and her team looked after me from he beginning. My dietitian is Ashling Duffy who is so caring and reassuring. The whole team including the psychologist and admin team. Everyone was so professional and caring nothing was too much trouble. The results have been excellent and I have lost the weight I wanted too and they are there to support me right the way through the whole experience, even now if there is any problems I only have to ring them and they will help me no matter how big or small the issue is. The team have even supported my family and reassuring them when I was in theatre. They told my husband they would ring at a certain time after my operation and they did right to the second. We can not thank Ms Darrien and her team enough. Real caring, excellent and professional team.

WHAT can I say, Excellent experience with the health team that I dealt with. From Miss Jennifer Darrien the Surgeon to Ashling Duffy the Dietitian, the psychologist and admin team. My journey started in January 2019 when i went for a well woman check up .When I went back for the results the Doctor was concerned about my weight and my blood pressure as I was Obese. I told him I had tried everything over the years to try and loose weight but i just kept getting bigger and bigger. He asked me would i consider going down the surgery route but I could not afford the private prices in Ireland and the public waiting list were 44 months. He suggested I do it through The Cross Border Directive which I never heard of. The HSE send people abroad to release the lengthily wait on their waiting lists and they pay a fraction of the costs due to medical reasons referred from your Doctors. I was referred to The phoenix Health Care. I travelled to Manchester and had my operation in The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle, Manchester. I could not have asked for a better team and hospital to have my op in. An excellent experience from start to finish including aftercare. I was so apprehensive but I am delighted now I went through with the procedure. In seven weeks I feel great I have lost a stone pre op and two stone post op, i have started walking again and I am more mobile than before. This my new journey to a better life thanks to the Team at Phoenix Health Care, Chester.

One word sums up the Phoenix team lead by Prof David Kerrigan: OUTSTANDING! I attended NHS weightloss clinic for 2 years I was then passed on to professor David Kerrigan and his team at Pheonix Health in Frodsham, the care i have received from them from day 1 is above and beyond anything i ever experienced. I was treated as an individual and no questions I had went unanswered, Within weeks of meeting them I was given my pre op date and also my surgery date for my bypass. When I arrived at the Grovesnor Nuffield in Chester I was nervous, worried, with a lot of what if’s !! From the minute I entered the reception I receive a wonderfully welcoming smile, I was the handed over to the team and shown to my room, where all my trepidation disappeared, the nurses, were absolutely fantastic, they made me feel so welcome, I was astounded by the care and encouragement they gave me from that first meeting. Professor Kerrigan popped in and again I receive a very warm welcome with a lovely smile, I then met Dr Shearer who was to be my anaesthetist he was incredibly supportive and explained everything to me, he even played me It’s a kind of Magic by Queen as I dropped off to sleep Thank you to everyone for an amazing, caring service with lots of passion, enthusiasm and encouragement. I would highly recommend this outstanding team.

Hello all ... I have attended a weight loss clinic for many years i decided on Bariatric surgery circa 9 years ago and i chose the Laproscopic Band.... My operation then was performed by Mr David Kerrigan and his team they were lovely and aided me in my aftercare programme post-op throughout to ensure I receiced the best post operative care as possible there is no discrimination everybody from NHS referral patients to private patients we are all treated with the same respect as you could possibly expect..Now update years have passed since then and I was still struggling with my weight so i sought out more advice from my GP and i was referred to the Aintree Loss Clinic i attended this clinic and all of its subsequent appointments I did as near as possible everything i was asked and low and behold a few Months later I had my appointment back with Mr Kerrigan and his team for discussions on removal of my lapband and have revisional surgery at the same time to have what i simplify is an OAGB tummy bypass procedure.... I attended many pre-op appointments at one of their Clinics in Frodsham even throughout all my visits I was treated with absolute respect somuch so it puts you so at ease with yourself....now fast forward to 8/8/19 i was admitted to the Phoenix Health at Nuffield Hospital in Chester and OMG what a really really nice hospital..my own room, free wi-fi, tv, telephone, and the best healthcare that you could only wish for as a patient... From nursing staff to Doctors, Doctors to Consultant Surgeons right up to the now Professor David Kerrigan himself..... I would recommend to anyone from the start of your weight loss journey to the Operation itself and beyond if you are referred to Phoenix Health this is a truly wonderful surgery team to all levels of nursing staff the catering and the housekeeping staff I applaud you all... to end a very special.thank you to my amazing surgeon Miss Jennifer Darrien. I write this on behalf of my wife. She had a Roux en Y last week and the treatment she received from Phoenix Health and the Grosvenor House hospital in Chester was first class. Although funded through the NHS, she never felt like anything other than a valued customer and it was 5 star from her initial meetings with Prof Kerrigan and the team right through to the operation and after care. Now, some 6 days after the surgery, she has no difficulty swallowing and the only residual pain is a little soreness from the insertion wounds. She is now up and about and looking forward to some solid food again in the not too distant future! However, the BIG THING is that after 10 years of injecting insulin 4 times a day for her Type 2 diabetes, she has not had one drop since the operation. Her blood sugar levels are stable and she is very hopeful that her stomach will no longer have to be used as a dartboard any more. Thank you Professor Kerrigan and the whole team at Phoenix, you have transformed her life - and in the process, have transformed my life too.

Thank you, Professor Kerrigan and your team, for saving me from myself !! I started my weight loss journey 7 years ago having had a gastric band fitted privately with another provider. After having issues with the band I discovered that it had been punctured from one of the first fills which resulted in hardly any weight loss and a costly repair. After the repair I lost an amazing 6 stone and felt like I had finally discovered the real me then I started having problems with the band again. I was feeling very restricted and vomiting nearly every time I ate. I made an appointment to have my band looked at privately (with another provider) by x ray and was told that the band had eroded through my stomache and I needed to have the band totally emptied and would have to have the band removed. I was devastated and felt completely out of control with my eating habits and very quickly put on three stones, I was feeling very depressed. I don't fit into any of my clothes, physically I feel ill, my energy levels are very low and my knees, hips and lower back hurt most of the time. I don't like to socialise anymore and thought that my life was going to become unbearable. After a long process I was lucky enough to be accepted onto the NHS with Phoenix Health. My consultant Ms Derrien was so lovely and very understanding to my predicament, she sent me for a Gastroscopy which was needed to confirm the erosion, this was performed by Mr.Javed whom was very professional and totally put me at ease, my procedure and after care was second to non. At this point though I am still mourning the loss of my band and steadily putting more and more weight on. Four weeks later I met Professor Kerrigan and recieved the most amazing news, my band hadn't eroded and I could start the process of having my band filled, ultimately saving me from diabetes and lots of other weight related illnesses not forgetting the state of my mental health. Thank you so much, I look forward to taking back control of my eating habits with your expert guidance and understanding.

I am an NHS Patient referred to Phoenix Health for Bariatric Surgery. I had been on the waiting list for over 12 months and was concerned about undoing all the hard work I had done to get my referral. In March I got a letter inviting me to an assessment day in Frodsham. I was so nervous I have heard all of the horror stories and more. I watched an updated presentation by Professor Kerrigan and immediately felt more at ease. He didn't sugar coat anything but I knew exactly what to expect. Within a few weeks I was having some investigation done by means of a Gastroscopy under Ms Darrien at Grosvenor Nuffield Hospital in Chester. I was sedated and everything went very well. I was up and about within an hour or so and home the same day. Phoenix kept me up to date every step of the way. I knew what timescale I was looking at for my operation and I knew what my next step would be. This was amazing after hearing absolutely nothing for over 12 months. I had my operation on 13th May in Chester. My surgeon was Mr Javed who explained everything to me beforehand and made sure i understood and was okay with everything. I'm now 2 weeks out, I've had a review of my diabetes today with Professor Kerrigan and since my Assessment Including my pre-op diet I have lost two stone and I am currently unmedicated for my diabetes. My scars are minimal and I feel amazing. This was never going to be a quick fix for me this is something I understand I have to work with to get the most out of it. I am very grateful to the Phoenix team especially all the surgeons and nurses I have seen. The aftercare has been phenomenal, from quick appointments to calls from nursing staff, Surgeons and Dietitians to see if I need anything or if I have any questions. I really cannot fault the service, Phoenix go above and beyond. A friend of mine had her Bypass 12 weeks before me by the NHS and was still waiting for her six week check, she has been left with very little aftercare or guidance and I thank my lucky stars I was seen by Phoenix every day. I feel alive again and my journey is only just starting. Thank you so much Phoenix Health. Especially Professor Kerrigan, Mr Javed, Ms Darrien and all the nursing and support staff who have helped me on this journey.
