I thought I would write another review for anyone thinking about having weight loss surgery with Pheonix Health. Today I am nine months post op, and from my very first weigh in on the start of my journey I have lost 10st 7lb, this week I purchased a new dress size 16, 9 months ago I was wearing clothes size 28 and some even size 30! Ive joined a gym, I have got my life back, and I can not thank Pheonix Health enough for the support and care given to me during my journey. You have been and continue to be amazing. Thank you

I had the OAGB ( mini gastric bypass) on the 16.2.22 at the Alexandria in Cheadle. I have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. The anaesthetist ( so sorry I can’t remember his name) came to see me in the morning and was so lovely then chatted away to me as I drifted off to sleep. Miss Jennifer Darrien is not only one amazing lady but also so down to earth, friendly and genuine. Miss Darrien came to see me on the morning of surgery and then in recovery ( so I’m told 😊)and again the day after my surgery. Miss Darrien assured me everything had gone like clockwork. I had little to no pain just a bit from the gas but I followed the advice to walk and drink which I did and it soon disappeared. I got myself in a bit of a tiss, overthinking things and asked the nursing staff to arrange for the dietitian to come see me. In comes the wonderful bariatric nurse Sandra from Phoenix who came in specially at my request. Another lovely, genuine and kind member of the team. Sandra answered my questions and put my mind at rest. I have since spoken to Sandra again at home for some advice and she’s absolutely brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. A shout out the lovely admin staff at Phoenix for their help and support. It’s early days for me I’m only a week out of surgery but so far so good no regrets and onto a happy and healthier life. Thank you Phoenix team . 💕

After contemplating bariatric surgery for many years I finally took the steps to start my journey. I spoke to many different companies here in the UK and abroad however Phoenix Health was by far my top choice. The team are exceptional - very skilled, qualified and caring people who put your health at the center of your care. Originally I wanted a sleeve however after speaking to the dietitian, the psychologist and my surgeon the recommendation was made for a mini bypass. Never once did I feel pressured. Miss Darrien : my surgeon was so wonderful - a very down to earth woman who listens to you and is so approachable. After speaking to her one to one I was ready to take her recommendations and put my life in her hands. The biggest thing for me was that none of the team ever made me feel embarrassed about my weight - I found most related to how I had felt or was feeling. On the day of my surgery everything was clear - I was walked to the high tech operating theatre and returned to my room 2 hours later. Pain was minimal - nurses on hand for any of my needs. The rooms are excellent. Miss Darrien and her team visited me numerous times after surgery. Totally transparent on how my surgery went and offering future support for my weight loss journey. Very happy.

I had a mini gastric bypass with Jennifer Darrien of Phoenix health on Monday 7th Feb at Nuffield Grosvenor Chester hospital. Firstly Ms Darrien is an amazing lady, very respectful, professional and friendly and ensures you are happy giving you updates of how your surgery went etc. Her team are amazing, happy, funny great senses of humour and first class at making you feel at ease. I was walked down to the theatre, being chatted to all the way and shown my bed for the procedure. It's like a giant spaceship with super modern theatre. The anaesthetist came In and chatted about my life and next thing I'm awake in my room. Pain on waking was gas pains, but once able to move around it goes after a day. Not much other pain. Uncomfortable laying on side but nothing else. First day is the hardest as you are Monitored and linked up to everything and unable to sleep as people in every half hour. Second day was awesome, felt great walking up and down ward, sat up eating and drinking. The nurses and doctors are simply amazing!. Massive thanks to Karen, Dora, Laura, Abdel, Dapo and everyone else who kept an eye on us the whole time, making our stay easy and fun. You guys Rock.

From being really worried at the beginning of this procedure of a gastric sleeve, Jennifer listened to every worry i had. She told me when I woke up i would wonder what i was worried about and she was right. I would recommend this surgical team and this operation to anyone who needs it. There is nothing to worry about. No pain, nothing. I am now feel much better and feeling fantastic. The follow up has been excellent I cant recommend this team enough. The hospital was lovely, very clean and I was treated very well.

Easiest experience ever. Which was a surprise for such a life changing operation. Everyone I came across at Phoenix, and their partners in my case at Alexandra in Cheadle, from admin to consult, was attentive, caring and clearly communicated every step of the way.

After being overweight for many years and yo yo dieting which left me demoralised, unhealthy and heavier than ever, I decided to look at surgical options. The Phoenix team are amazing, very supportive and helpful without being pushy. October 2021 mini gastric bypass done. The hospital stay was straightforward and all of the staff were so helpful and friendly. It was a huge decision. My advice is to do your research as it's not an easy option. Was it worth it? Absolutely the right thing for me. Consider physical, emotional and lifestyle changes. It's not an overnight change, you have to use the surgery as a tool which is as powerful as you make it. The after care support is excellent. I still have a long way to go, but knowing that the team are there to help gives me an advantage which I will use when needed.

I’ve had the 4-month Elipse balloon which the consultant recommend. Well ahead of the balloon placement I received an information and preparation pack via post. Placement of the balloon was very quick and painless. I have had no side effects of the balloon. Silvia, my consultant, checked up on everything every day for the first week. Silvia is quick to respond to questions and concerns and is very diligent in ensuring you get the correct support and advise throughout the weight loss journey. Regular follow ups is emphasising that this is a journey and not a quick fix and Silvia is giving helpful advice along the way. I have 1 month left and I have lost just over a stone at this point – the big benefit of having the balloon and the support is that I now feel I have control over my portion sizes as well as I now have my sense of hunger and full. I am confident that I will reach my goal when I continue with the healthy habits that the Balloon has helped me put in place. I will highly recommend Phoenix Health if you are considering having a balloon placed to kick off healthy habits and start your weight lose journey.

I had a gastric bypass on 6th September, my surgeon was Miss Jennifer Darrien. She is amazing from first speaking to her on the phone at my consultation to the day of surgery and after. I had my surgery at Nuffield Health Chester. The hospital is great and all the staff are amazing and so caring. I've lost 4 stone upto now and everything is going great. If you are thinking of having surgery here do it! You won't regret it. I highly recommend Miss Jennifer Darrien. Thank you so much you've made my life so much better.

From my arrival at The BMI Cheadle, my Care was exceptional!!! The staff were amazing, caring, kind & considerate. Miss Darien was kind & explained everything thoroughly explained what would happen if my procedure couldn’t happen & what the alternatives were, so I fully understood. My after care was above & beyond & felt nothing was too much trouble. The cleanliness of my room was outstanding not a speck of dust anywhere. I would not hesitate to recommend The BMI to anyone, you just can’t go wrong !!! Thank you for my care

Had my procedure done on the 11th August and everything went so smoothly , every person that cared for me was absolutely brilliant . I really felt reassured and cared for .I really couldn’t ask for better service .

Bypass July 2021, everything about my journey with phoenix has been amazing before during and after the surgery. I was a little poorly 3 months after my surgery and had to call the out of hours number and they did not stop calling to check in on me even when I was in hospital for a week. Was the best thing I have ever done. The psychological help they also give you before and after is amazing, thank you all so much.

From the very beginning to the ongoing support from Phoenix Health has been 5* since being referred to them for my gastric bypass in July 21. All members of the team were very friendly and approachable and nothing was too much bother for them. The operation has been a huge success and my weight has come off steadily and have to say it's been the best decision I have ever made and would highly recommend anyone thinking of going down the same path not to hesitate. had a Bypass June 2021 . this has saved my life . Administration ,reception , nurses , professor , surgeon . ALL the staff were amazing , kind, thoughtful and caring . 10/10 . five stars . if your pondering on your decision , just do it . most scariest thing i've done but best decision ever. every question answered . call email / call replied to . I have been under phoenix health, with Mrs Darrien and her team! All I can say is wow! From start to finish iv been closely looked after and every single person has gone a above and beyond. The surgery was a success with the after care being second to none.

I can not recommend Miss Darrien and her team enough. I was a nervous wreck having the operation done and can not begin to say how professional the team was . All my questions was answered and the anaesthetist come to see me the morning of the surgery to put me at ease. The nursing team at Nuffield Chester are fantastic karen, Karen, Claire, Heather and Alice (I think that’s everyone) and the catering staff with the little things Gill constantly topped me up with fresh water and ice. Physio and surgeons come in to also check with us and recap all information and cover any questions I had and have been available to call everyday if I have been stuck. I would definitely recommend Miss Darrien she’s absolutely incredible at her job and has definitely changed my life and can’t thank the team enough.

I had a mini gastric bypass on Monday 25th October at Nuffield Chester and I am just waiting to go home. We'll what can I say Miss Darrien an absolutely amazing surgeon from the first consultation to her visit just now she has been honest and answered all my questions no matter how silly I have felt asking them. I would 100% recommend her to perform your operation. All of the Phoenix staff have been brilliant Barbara, Emma, the dieticians and psychotherapists I couldn't ask for any more support than I have had. A huge huge shout out to the staff at The Nuffield fantastic nurses Karen, Claire, Heather and Alice have all been brilliant, physios and catering. I have not once felt any stigma to having the operation.
